With this list, I'm unsure what would really be best for my son. He is 8 years old, he takes Concerta 54mg once a day in the morning. They are still evaluating him for PDD and also they will be evaluating him for sensory issues.
Avatar m tn regular ritalin will be eliminated faster than the SR version. And, it is also pretty common for a child(?) to not go to the nurse for the med. Avatar n tn There have been some occasions wih us that he has began to act out but for the most part, his father is abe to control him by talking to him and I have been able to do the same. For the 2 years, he has been on the same meds, concerta 54mg bid, welbutrin SR 150 bid, depakote 500mg in am and 1000mg in pm and zyprexa zyda 10mg, within the last 3 months methylphenidate 10mg was added to his regimen for problems his mother feels like he is having at home.
Avatar n tn Concerta is a special formulation of methylphenidate that lasts longer. Generic methylphenidate is much cheaper, but is generally taken 2-3 times per day.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently put on methylphenidate for my resistant depression and today was the first day I took it, I felt super for the first 3 hours maybe, but then a little shaky and fatigue, is this normal on the first day? I also take lorazepam for my severe anxiety and i want to know if there's any adverse reaction, I mean my psychiatrist put me on this just want to know if my reaction is normal, other than that the first 3 hours I felt super fine the depression decrease tremendously.

Avatar f tn your son has apparently experienced positive results with Concerta which is a form of methylphenidate, while Adderall is a form of dextroamphetamine (Ritalin and Dexedrine). Frequently the forms of methylphenidate work better for ADHD Hyperactive while the dextroamphetamines work better for the Inattentive. Which is your son? To compound matters further if he is an "active" young man, is his activity "motor" or "distractablitIy" driven?
Avatar m tn However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills. I have been taking the bupropion first, then the methylphenidate about an hour later. I feel GREAT at first--focused, clear, calm.
Avatar f tn Prescribed 20 mg methylphenidate three times daily. How do I determine if this is correct dosage? My PCP tested me 5 years ago but until I started going to counseling I hadn't taken it seriously, after seeing a counselor last year, she ASKED me if I'd ever been tested for ADHD and I was shocked but it became obvious when I started researching. It's very overwhelming at times but I'm past the denial stage and currently learning how to cope.
Avatar m tn i am taking methylphenidate two times a day one in the morning and one in the afternoon i'm fine in the morning because i go back to sleep when it is time to take my next dose after i do it makes me sick and have a headache and i am also taking 4mg of lexapro what should i do?
Avatar f tn This should help you,God bless your son and your family. mportant information about Concerta Do not use Concerta if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), or selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam) within the past 14 days. Serious, life-threatening side effects can occur if you use Concerta before the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body.
Avatar m tn I'm on 90mg Erfa and just introduced SR T3. I cannot get consistent temps no matter when and how many I use? For example I used 3 7.5mcg T3 and temp rose to 97.33 it then went down to 96 around noon after I took 2 MORE! This morning I took 4 SR T3 with 90 mcg thinking I need to take more in the morning but instead it was lower than the morning before when I took less and which was 97.33F. Ive been searching the internet as to some kind of protocol to follow but dont find much information.
Avatar f tn So today i switched from adderall to metadate (extended release methylphenidate). I have tried every imaginable topical you can imagine without any success on the lesions. I have still not found a doctor willing to treat morgellons so I figure the least thing I can do is avoid anything that worsens the symptoms. I have found some information that backs up my suspicion that Adderall is the culprit. It can increase the glucose level in your body, initiating an inflammatory response.
Avatar f tn Hi, Iam 12wks pregnant. I was given augmentin sr tablets to treat a sinus infection. The doc said it's safe but I am scared to take it.
619380 tn?1339798596 Doctor put me on rythmol sr and aspirin. How can I pass all these test and have it hit me? I have complained of weakness in the past and wonder if that might have been a sign? I'm worried about taking a afib drug and are curious about anything I should worry or look out for.
