your son has apparently experienced positive results with Concerta which is a form of methylphenidate, while Adderall is a form of dextroamphetamine (Ritalin and Dexedrine). Frequently the forms of methylphenidate work better for ADHD Hyperactive while the dextroamphetamines work better for the Inattentive.

My PCP tested me 5 years ago but until I started going to counseling I hadn't taken it seriously, after seeing a counselor last year, she ASKED me if I'd ever been tested for ADHD and I was shocked but it became obvious when I started researching. Do not use Concerta if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), or selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam) within the past 14 days. Serious, life-threatening side effects can occur if you use Concerta before the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body.
So today i switched from adderall to metadate (extended release methylphenidate). I have tried every imaginable topical you can imagine without any success on the lesions. I have still not found a doctor willing to treat morgellons so I figure the least thing I can do is avoid anything that worsens the symptoms. I am not sure, but suspects that she has been using legal drugs such as synthetic cathinones (N ethyl hexedrone, methylphenidate) not very often but on multiple occasions as well as xanax. My question is if occasional use by itself will cause further damage to her liver. I understand that her liver has a slower metabolism or somewhat decreased function, but is using these substances something that will damage her liver cells further?

I was wondering I was on sleeping medications when I became pregnant I was for 12 years I am 27 years old and have had insomnia for 12 years and also was on benzos for anxiety for 7 years and methylphenidate for ADHD since I was in the 1st grade and I stopped taking all of the meds as soon as I found out I was excepting except the benzo I had to cut slowly down but I have not had one since I was 18 weeks anyways was wondering what I can do TO GET SOME SLEEP I GO 5 to 6 days without sleep then
Stimulant medications include both: amphetamines (e.g., Adderall) and methylphenidate (Ritalin). The later doesnt show on a standard 5-panel test. Your daughter's doctor should be well aware of this unless they slept through pharmacology!!!!

Wow - 54 mg? Did you start off on a lower dose? That sounds awfully high... I've been on methylphenidate for about three years. (I take the brand Ritalin, but I'm pretty sure Ritalin and Concerta are about the same thing.) I started off on 5 mg, three times a day (of the non extended release) and I got a lot of benefit from it.
Here in NZ the methadone services have been trialing Methylphenidate(Ritalin) in a double blind study in an attempt to stabilise people addicted to Methamphetamines. This is still in the early phase but initial indications look positive.

How about you try food supplements that have shown to have equal efficacy to Ritalin,Multiple vitimin with B Complex and Vit C . also Fish oil and been tried by many parents,with success, go into your local whole food store,if you have one called "Sprouts "they are very good and will go online for you to find what you need in a Natural Remedy to help you.If the drugs you have been trying dont work its time to find something less invasive that will, Good Luck.
and an afternoon dose of 10mg methylphenidate...HE DOES NOT HAVE AN Appetite...He says No thank You to EVERYTHING FOOD That I offer him since starting these meds....
He is 10 years old and have always had a great appetite.....HELP ....
