I take 10 mg focalin once a day for my adhd. As usually I swallow it with some water. I never feel it affect me besides not being able to sleep. I had a friend who said if I snort it I will feel it better and that if I did it instead of swallowing it once a day, it wouldn't cause an addiction.

I've recently started taking focalin because I've been kind of depressed and when I take it, it makes me feel kind of like I'm "on top" but the after math *****, then when I think I can stop I can't and I've tried showing myself the symptoms and what it can do to me to scare myself and for some reason that doesn't work.

I need advice on other abusers should I ween off? Also has anyone here ever gone from abusing it to taking it correctly again? I feel like scum. I appreciate your responses.
Can anybody tell me about their experience with Focalin. My daughter was givin this today to see if it will help her focus more in school. I'm just worried about putting her on something like that. I've read up on it and talked to the doc. Just wanted to hear other peeps thoughts. Thanks for the help.
i have had bad reactions to my past 3 prescriptions. Focalin XR 20 mg caused me to have sever anxiety attacks at night, caused restlessness , but it did its job for my ADD it affected the rest of my life very badly because my hands and extremities where turning pale and felt numb. To treat the anxiety i started on Citalopram and this medication only made me very tired. (falling asleep in class). after talking with my counselor i started back on Add meds 2 days ago starting at 50mg Vyvanse.
For the past 10 years I have been snorting my Focalin. I've done upwards of 6000milligrams in one day. I've managed to not snort more than 4-5 pills a day in the recent years but I can't stop. I literally live my life drunk, high, and focalized. I've been to rehab and have used AA and manage to stay sober for like 4 months on multiple occasions. But the one thing that always takes me out is when I snort the Focalin again. It triggers everything bad that I do.

MY SON IS 6 YEARS OLD VERY HEALTHY TO THE EYE. ACTIVE !!! EATS WELL BUT WE WERE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH HIM IN SCHOOL SO AFTER A WHILE WE RESORED TO ADHD MEDICINE. HIS PEDITRICIAN WOULD NOT DIAGNOSE ADHD BUT WILL PRESCRIBE THE MEDS. SO I FOUND A PEDITRICIAN THAT WOULD AND AFTER THE FIRST VISIT, A PHISICAL AND BLOOD WORK HE SAID HERE'S A PRESCRIPTION. FOCALIN XR 5MG. HE HAS BEEN ON THE MEDS FOR 4 MONTHS DOING GREAT!!!
I've been snorting focalin for a while now and I'm pretty sure that I'm addicted to it. I've been snorting it for at least 5 months now, everyday, and its really scaring me now. I have to snort 30mg of focalin just to get a high. I know it might not be as bad as some other people, but the thing that really scares me is the fact that I just burned through a whole months supply of pills in roughly two weeks.

Before that focalin, before that adderall and the first one I took was nuvigil. Focalin seems to work the best however, I cannot rember how I was before all this medication. It has only gotten worse. The medication for anxiety and depression has helped slightly. I've been on it for a little over 3 weeks I think.
i got a new dr and he canged me from adderall to methylin generic ritalin....do they have kinda same ingrediaents..it to be used for depresssion but he said i have some add symptoms also on on xanax and prozac,,he is upping my prozac...
My son took Vyvance for several months and also had a lot of eye blinking. We switched him to Focalin and the blinking stopped. Recently though he has begun having seizures...not sure if they related to either medication or if they are an independent problem. We see the neurologist tomorrow....hopefully we will find out more then. Does anyone know more about the seizures mentioned in the side effects of both Vyvance and Focalin XR? I can't find much info on these seizures...
Have your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist to be sure healthy.
I needed the meds but didnt want my appetite suppressed like my son gets when he is taking focalin. What do you think about an 11yr old taking it? Also would it help with my son's suppressed appetite he has with focalin? Please help! I dont have custody of my son,but would love to pass on good info to her about vyvanse....he needs to eat more,he is only 56lb and 11yrs old and 56" tall. he is underweight,but he doctor leaves it up to his psyche doctor and doesnt do anything about it...

My daughter suffers from ADHD, she is super sweet & in 3rd grade now, she was diagnosed when she was in 2nd grade. I am not sure how your son is, but I can explain how my daughter is with & w/out Concerta, she just recently started focalin to help with homework. My husband was completely against it & now understands it & even asks me if I gave her the medication the days we for forget.
Been using focalin for adhd for 3 years. Previously uses ritalin, concerta, ritalin LA.
Taking 10mg twice daily.
Recnently been feeling very stressed and anxiety out over nothing. I get irritated easily.
Looked into my diet and blood work, etc. They are all ok. Life is ok, otherwise.
The doctor said stims can cause this and gave also tenex to take the edge off. Helps a little, but its not right.
Is this common for anyone else?
