methylin adhd

My doctor put me on Buspar, 5 mg 2x a day to help with my ADHD...but I have not read any solid literature on Buspar and its effects on ADHD symptoms. Is this a good drug to go on for ADHD? Has anyone else been on this drug for ADHD? I haven't noticed any difference in my ability to remember/concentrate but have been taking it for a little over a week now and seem a bit (I use this lightly..) less anxious...but, still need my ADHD treated.

How about you try food supplements that have shown to have equal efficacy to Ritalin,Multiple vitimin with B Complex and Vit C . also Fish oil and been tried by many parents,with success, go into your local whole food store,if you have one called "Sprouts "they are very good and will go online for you to find what you need in a Natural Remedy to help you.If the drugs you have been trying dont work its time to find something less invasive that will, Good Luck.

We have a ten year old son who was diagnosed with ADHD a couple of years ago. He takes stimulant medication (Methylin), and this helps quite abit, particularly with his hyperactivity. It also helps him to focus better. One of my friends has a daughter who is about the same age as our son, and she recently completed a five-week program to help her with attention and memory. The program is called Cogmed Working Memory Training. Do you think this might help our son?

i got a new dr and he canged me from adderall to methylin generic ritalin....do they have kinda same ingrediaents..it to be used for depresssion but he said i have some add symptoms also on on xanax and prozac,,he is upping my prozac...

I must add that she is currently on medication for ADHD. She sees a couselor every few months, without any benefits , that I can tell. She is a lovely, respectful child. My brother is at his wits end. What can you advise?.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD with impulsivity at 2 years old. I started medication 2 years ago and he has been on 3mL of Quillivant for the past year. I give it at 7:45 and by 2:30 it has worn off. It has been great and so far the only side effect I have seen is a lack of appetite. At 2:30, the impulsivity starts again so the doctor prescribed him methylin 5mL and that doesn't work at all and upsets his stomach. Has anyone had s similar experience?

Dang, that is tough to work with. And having 3 other kids and one that is just 4 months really complicates the situation. The first question is - is she on meds? If so, there are some that last much longer (like vyvanse), which might help when she gets home. This is something to bring up with your doctor. But essentially, her actions are ones that I would almost recognize as typical for a child with ADHD and young siblings.

My 11 year old son has the following symtoms after a streptosyme infection found in his blood in Nov 2008, and after taking methylin for 5 days in Dec 2008. Just a bit of personal experience to add to this discussion...I take methylin(a time release form of ritalin) for ADHD regularly. However, during a severe episode of MS-like sx lasting 2 1/2 months this winter, I couldn't tolerate taking the stimulant since it suddenly caused lots of side effects like trembling, tremor, racing heartbeat, increased hyperreflexia, etc.

I have even been given Methylin to try and help get me reved up. Does not help either! So, I do not know what else they could possibly have in their bag of tricks for folks like us...But, I hope it is something and soon ;0 Please let me know if you come up w/ something that helps and I shall do the same. I am Thankful for all the "Up" time I have and the bit of energy to go with it.

Did she get evaluated by a psycholigist or developmental doctor that specializes in ADHD? If she has ADHD, the first medication that you should try is Metadate CD or Ritalin. Start with a very small dosage such as 2.5mg or 5mg. If it does not work because it is not enough, keep on increasing the amount very slowly until you see that she is doing well. I am not familiar with celexa. If it is a stimulant like Ritalin, the dosage sounds too high.

my 10 yr old daughter has had adhd for the past 6 yrs and is on focolin rx now 50mg in am and 10mg in afternoon. with her she has had trouble with memory loss for some time now and cant retain information from the past or at times 30 seconds after being told. she was giagnosed 3 yrs ago with seizure tendencies after fainting in my arms. her doc has not explored this further.
