methadose

Avatar n tn Propoxyphene HCl 65, a synthetic opiate agonist, is structurally similar to methadone. The analgesic effect of propoxyphene is due to the d-isomer, dextropropoxyphene. It binds to the opiate receptors and leads to a decrease of the perception of pain stimuli.
Avatar n tn Hello. Methadone has a long half life,It lasts a long time in your system. Withdrawal lasts several weeks too.And 20mg is not a dose you want to jump off at,I don't think. At this time I am at 7mg and will wait till it is below 5 to bail out. Good luck in whatever you do,but being in Europe in withdrawals doesn't sound like fun.
Avatar f tn I am not allowed to say that I take methadone for pain relief. I can only say that pain relief is a side effect of methadone. Well this is fine and dandy until I started to travel for work. Clinic rules are strict and impossible to follow. Today I have had 3 doctors offer to take over my care, but none of them are legally allowed to prescribe me methadone.
Avatar n tn Im not sure how long its been since your dose of suboxone, but it always took me about 1hr before I would feel its effects. I was on methadone before going to sub, tapered down from 140mgs-30mgs, then started at 8mgs/suboxone. Im not really sure how methadone compares to morphine milligram wise, but if it doesnt help then talk to your doctor about adjusting your dose. You cant expect to feel great, but it should hold off the w/d's and cravings.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just joined. I have been on methadone HCL and morphine IR for several years, (chronic pain from bike accident/fractured neck, several surgeries, etc) ut originally was put on oxycontin and soma! I quit soma after 2 yrs cold turkey and then the oxy too with the help of great doctor and methadone. I have tapered methadone down from 14 tabs day (10 mg) to 5/day and the morphine from 6/day (15mg) to 3/day (recently went 2.
Avatar n tn is it harder to withdrawal from methadone vs. withdrawaling from lortabs? i was taking 10-15 lt's a day. i am not taking anymore at all. today is the first day i havent taken any. but i will be taking 30mg methadone for only a week, then i am going cold turkey. will it be easier withdrawaling from the week of methadone than it would be to just quit now and withdrawal from the lortabs?
Avatar f tn Have you discussed with your doctor the risk of combining xanax and methadone? I was on a different benzo when on methadone but I also smoked at the time so I think that had something to do with the issues I had.
Avatar n tn Not sure how methadone vs sub effects the liver? have to ask your doctor?
Avatar f tn Will a month of low suboxine use give my body time to kick most of the methadone? Secondly, are suboxine withdrawls as bad as methadone and how long to they last? Thanks for any advice and any advise on alternative meds (vitamins/holistic) for withdrawls.
Avatar m tn there is also another brand name known as Dolophine. Dolophine is simply Methadone Hcl in an actual pill form, not a wafer. It comes in 5mg, and 10mg strengths. This was oringially designed for people taking methadone for pain control, but was later integrated into the clinic system for those who couldnt tolerate drinking the liquid (Like myself, but Im not sure having to swallow 70 of those pills a day was any better!!!) In regards to your question about decreasing....
Avatar f tn Yeah but four years on Methadone vs one maybe two shots of Vitamin B12? All this stuff I keep hearing is like as if the Pharma companies & Doctors are all working the system to line their pockets while we are kept in the dark.
Avatar f tn After a short period,i quit using Trittico , and now I am JUST on Methadone... arround 90mg of PURE METHADONE HCL { additives are methylparaben, prophylparaben, and prophylenglicol ...} ... are they safe for IV ???
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your doctor wanted to get you on a long-acting medication, which is usually a good thing. Methadone has been unfortunately demonized over the years because it's used to stabilize opiate addicts. It's an old, cheap, and very effective long-acting pain medication. You really can't compare methadone vs. oxycodone on a mg-to-mg basis because methadone is a more potent medication.
