Avatar f tn Are methadone clinics the only avenue for this type of treatment? Are there private doctors who offer treatment plans? I need one step short of in-patient care... please advise...
Avatar f tn The doc said that she makes the decision of whether or not he is good candidate My question is many people at methadone clinics have hep c and continue their methadone treatment saying that it helps. Is this proven medical fact?? Will dr write for meds like methadone to help a patient going through hepatitis C treatment or is this for the Methadone clinics only that you go to and pay?
Avatar m tn t paying anything for the methadone so I am a bit perplexed by what you claim is happening to you. I take methadone as prescribed by a doctor so I do go to clinics and I only pay 3.24 for 240 10mg pills. I used to take much more than this per month but I stepped myself down slowly as I'm not a druggie who depends on pills to get by. I am now down to 20mg to 30mg per day leaving me with about 15,000 mgs in reserve so that I control my fate.
Avatar f tn There is a clinic near the fair grounds. As you know methadone has a harder withdrawal then heroin and anything else. Just a suggestion but have you thought of trying buprenorphone (suboxone) unlike methadone suboxone dont appear to cause a delay in ur psycho-motor or cognitive performance. It is highly lipid bound and it provides a reservoir of medication that can control opioid withdrawal symptoms for extended amounts of time.
691385 tn?1240073267 I have been taking suboxone for seven or eight days. and I was on methadone 5mg. but I was wondering how long would it take for the methadone to get out of my system , so that if I were to start detoxing off of the sub. would I still withdrawl from methadone too? do I need to take the sub for a few more weeks and then try ? Also I have been on methadone for almost 4 years straight.
Avatar n tn Or are u looking for methadone treatment? Sorry to pry, I only ask because methadone is slowly being replaced by suboxone, I think they only use methadone for indiviuals who abused heroin for a long time. If you haven't been addicted that long suboxone would problay be the best way to go. Either way, I hope you get the help u need, it's out there for you. Please talk to someone. lots of love.
Avatar f tn he is tired of taking methadone and feels he has just changed from illegal substance(heroine)to a legal one(methadone).is ibigaine legal in south africa and how do we go about obtaining it?please help!I am rather desperate.
Avatar f tn OP would need an evaluation and acceptance into a methadone treatment program and acceptance into it to qualify for a methadone program- however they do not provide methadone for ongoing chronic medical conditions.
Avatar f tn Due to methadone’s totally synthetic structure (man made chemical), its pharmacological effects are longer lasting than those of other opiate drugs, allowing for once-daily administration in pain management and opiate treatment programs such as methadone clinics. However, the pain-relieving effects are shorter than the pharmacological half-life, so that dosing for pain control usually requires multiple doses per day. Depending on its form, Methadone can also be known as Dimepheptanol.
Avatar f tn Are there clinics at low cost or no cost for the treatment of Hep C using interferon.
Avatar f tn The people I know that were on it before me said they got it from an addictionologist or someone like that. I also know methadone clinics do prescribe suboxone as well, but you would have to enroll in there program. People without insurance generally can pay a cheaper weekly amount in cash that covers seeing there docs, counselers, and the couple random drug tests they throw at you a month. The clinics here are $65 a week. I would imagine they would be somewhat close to that in other areas.
4833242 tn?1359860948 From my understanding methadone is a longer term treatment option where you are monitored by a doctor thru a clinic. You cant take methadone for 2-3days to ward off the withdrawals. When was your last oxy/Norco? Only take methadone if prescribed by a doctor. You have to be monitored closely with it. Have you looked into any methadone clinics in the community? If that is not an option,,stay away from the methadone and try and just get off the oxy/Norco. Don't add methadone in the mix at all.
Avatar n tn HI you can get methadose from a doctor and pick it up at a pharmacy it is methadone in pill form methadone is usually liquid and is dispensed at clinics you have to go every day to get it most doctors cannot prescribe methadone hence why so many go to the clinics this is nasty stuff I was on it 6 1/2 yrs I would run the other way if someone ever offered to me again it is not a way to get around withdrawals methadone withdrawals are some of the worst you can experence your best off to detox wha
1362888 tn?1277758752 and other statements equating methadone clinics to the lowest of street dealers.for starters I realize that there are clinics that are run shoddily and shady enough as to give all the others a bad name.but it really devalues and does disservice to the ones that are providing legitimate, structured, conservative treatment and ABSOLUTELY save lives.at my clinic you start treatment at 20-30 mg and are aloud to increase by five every other day until you hit 80.
Avatar n tn hun, you don't want methadone for anything unless you are terminal. it is the hardest to kick and it destroys your mind. i know, been there. took 16 days to kick it and another 20 to get more than 3 hours sleep a night. avoid it if possible. if you are having migraines, ask your dr. about imitrex. it worked for me.
Avatar f tn I posted this somewhere else but someone suggested I come here to ask. Hi everyone... I've been on methadone for chronic pain management for the past 4 years and it's the only medication that has ever helped me. However, my insurance has been changed and my current doctor does not accept it anymore. I have been to over 7 different places to try and find a new doctor who can prescribe the methadone and every place I go to turns me away.
Avatar f tn She was clean for eight months and had a slip a few weeks ago. She has decided to begin treatment at a methadone facility. I believe the best part of this is the daily counseling that she is getting and in much need of. They began her on 20 mm of methadone. Does anyone have a clue how long she may be encouraged to stay with this program? How long will it take her to wean off the stuff altogether? thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome! I work at a methadone clinic so I have seen all types of clients and happenings that go on. 2 years is a long time to see no change....Is he still using drugs? Has he gotten his life together at all.....a job etc....??? And most importantly is he in aftercare? If he is going to get and stay clean he needs to be in aftercare! NA or AA meetings or a therapist or something.
1021643 tn?1265573848 Is there anyone who has been on some of Dr.Vorobiev, s clinics. They use both the UROD and rapid detox (Waismann Method). 179856 tn?1333547362 Anagnostou and colleagues evaluate HCV treatment outcomes among IV drug users receiving opioid substitution treatment with methadone or buprenorphine at 4 government-funded clinics between 2002 and 2008. The analysis involved 93 IV drug users with HCV infection who started combination treatment with pegylated interferon alfa-2a or -2b and ribavirin while on methadone or buprenorphine. Forty-six (48.4%) patients were on methadone, and 49 (51.6%) were on buprenorphine. Of the total, 77 (82.
Avatar f tn The only way I could figure out how to join ya'll is to post a question...I became addicted at age 42 to a prescription of percocet (shockingly.
