i am 32 days clean from bein on methadone for five an a half year there.my lsst dose was ur40mgs.still feeling ache but better will sequel help??

Dolophine is simply Methadone Hcl in an actual pill form, not a wafer. It comes in 5mg, and 10mg strengths. This was oringially designed for people taking methadone for pain control, but was later integrated into the clinic system for those who couldnt tolerate drinking the liquid (Like myself, but Im not sure having to swallow 70 of those pills a day was any better!!!) I want to quit ASAP. Can i start taking Suboxone or methadone immediately just to get me through the next few weeks until I get to rehab or will the few weeks of taking the above make my withdrawals that much more intense when i finally do detox.

I am on 100 mg of methadone a day because doctors started me on pain meds when I was 17 because of car wreck that almost killed me. He is insisting on my switching to high doses of methadone for continual pain...again. His last report said I was NOT a good candidate. MY dr. insists my switching could literally kill me, but I am being railroaded due to the fact that methadone is as cheap as dirt. Both drs. agree this is the reason. They are not planning on ever getting me OFF methadone, just switching. I have researched this, and I will not be able to continue staying alert on the doses they want me on.

I am using methadone 5 mg's or less every 12-24 hours to end my Vicodin addiction. It works well but I am worried about coming off the Methadone. Is this dose low enough for me to come off easily? I try to take as little as possible and only when wds get bad and I cant work. Any info?

s just me. It sounds like you are aware of you strengths and weaknesses. Just take what you need for the pain (what your Doc rx's you) and don't feel bad about it. Soma works for some-not for others. I use Robaxin now for a muscle relaxer if I need one at night or I can't sleep because the pain is so bad. Soma did help me for a while. I have low back issues.

Methadone absolutely has made me gain weight and I do days of total fasting, with no loss. I take methadone for cripling back pain. Will switching to opana allow me to lose the weight I've put on and help back pain, which the methadone was taking more and more with less relief?

I don't have any personal or professional experience with Methadone. I do know the theory behind it's use though. It's SUPPOSED to be dosed at the point that w/d s/s are reduced but no high at all is experienced. It's also SUPPOSED to be given over an EXTREMELY short period of time. It's supposed to be reduced in dose after the first day and continue to be reduced thereafter.

How long have u been taking the methadone? I ask this b/c tapering off of the opiates would probably have been better than switching to methadone b/c methadone is way stronger. I understand u didn't have much of a choice and I'm blown away that your Dr just cut u like that. That's pretty scrappy but they do it all the time! Are u ready to be off of everything? That's what they do on this site....give u the info I need to be clean of everything....

For me, I can kick my withdrawal symptoms in 1-2 days taking 20-30mg of methadone once in the morning. Methadone is said to be a pain med but I have never had any pain relief benefit, even in high doses. Go to your Dr. I'm sure they will agree that Methadone is your answer.

I used the COWS, from high dose methadone, which many will say is impossible. The methadone withdrawal is likely building up by now, but you were not on it too long and not too high a dose. Did you quit at 25mgs of methadone?

These drugs have Tylenol in them and this will only harm you further. You need a pain reliever without the Tylenol such as Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Morphine or Methadone. Other than the Oxycodone, the other medication that I have mentioned are what is called the " Big Dog" pain relievers. These drugs must be really thought out as they are hard to come off of in the event that you do not need them anymore.

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

I really have to push myself to lift any weights (much lighter than before) or do any fast runs. Hi, as I had posted previously, I went thru PT for 4 months from Sept-Dec. And started PT again in April and added on OT in May. For my last PT appt another therapist was working with me because mine was out. My therapist is also the manager there. She said she wanted her to do my evaluation again to see if I've reached my goals. At the start, my upper extremities strengths were about 3/5 and lower extremities range from 2/5-3/5. My upper extremity strengths are now 3+/5.
