I think you wrote in another thread that you also buy methadone on the street...it gets a little confusing with all the different threads going... If I'm understanding correctly, you were taking high doses of pills every day and you have to buy extra methadone away from the clinic. That makes you unstable right now. You have to talk to the clinic about this because its their job to get you at a comfortable dose and you need to keep yourself safe...

My wife is on methadone that she buys off the street(please...no judgement).....she has had severe pain in her joints as well as a lot of pain in her hands and arms...no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

i take 300 mg a day for various pain. now, 3 times my urine has shown methadone in it. i have never taken any methadone. telling a meth clinic this and swearing on my life holds no water if you know what i mean. has this ever happened to anyone and if so what could cause this?

I have seen posts in the last few days about buying methadone off the street and using it for a quick 5 day detox . PLZ dont by methadone off the street and try to detox youself with it ...... There were 3800 related deaths related to methadone for the year 2007, up from 389 for the year 2006...and a lot of them just took 1 pill, first time users...dead!!

d ween me off them after the methadone. not gonna work if i keep buying it on thr street. i absolutely will not detox at the clinic. that place ruined my life. Any advice on HOW to get through this?

Under no circumstance would I suggest you using heroin as a drug to get off methadone, for a start, you dont know what **** you are buying on the street and one deal one day might be fine, exactly the same amount the next time could take you over or even kill you. Street heroin can be cut with alsorts and do you really want that in your system? gravy powder, ketamine and god only knows what else.

She told me last night she had a few 80s to take and today was going to get methadone. What is the reaction when these two are mxed? Is it lethal? I thought methadone was to help with w.d. How is she taking it to get high? What does it do to someone. I did try it once, but it was back when David was alive and I drank ? He put it in water and dissolved it. At the time, it was to take away w.d. Which I think it did, but I def didn't feel high. I don't want to see her kill herself.

Jake, go ahead and start a new thread with your question. As for 'addicted 73', I have strong opinions from my own experiences with addiction and from what I see with patients.... opinions that you may resist hearing. I would be very surprised if a person taking a couple hundred of OC per day could leave the addiction behind.

3) if you are getting street methadone then you need to go see a real specialist because methadone is a synthetic and you will need extra care getting off. ((hugs)) Drug treatment specialists are so "over it" that they aren't judgmental, nothing shocks them, and you will get better care.

I got to a pretty high tolerance like you doing fentanyl patches about 20mg daily with 200mg methadone daily, half the methadone was off the street tho i only got my prescription up to 100. So at first the methadone alone was enough at like 50, then got up to 100, then got more off street while doing fentanyl, to keep up the tired feeling and being high. Eventually everything has to come down. I always felt tired taking opiates until you get so used to withdrawling that opiates give you energy.

I have never taken methadone, but I did have a big problem with taking opiate painkillers, mainly vicodin. I think the best thing to do is first decide if u are ready to completely stop, including the methadone, since that is an opiate (i think). If u are, I would prepare yourself for w/ds. You may or may not get any, but even if u do, it won't last very long, and in the long run, I promise you it is much better being off these pills.

I bought my 100-200mg daily methadone on the street and felt bad even when I had plenty. After a couple of years, I decided to go with subtext(same effect as suboxone). My doctor gave me 150mg norco for 4 days, went cold turkey for three days, and took the subutex when the vomitting stopped for long enough. I laid down and waited in agony. In 30 minutes, I felt normal. Withdrawals gone and craving.

If you wanted to get high on oxycontin or even street heroin then the best way is to reduce your methadone dose to under 35mg but remember its long half life will keep your tolerance up for a few days more than you would assume.

again , I say if you read the post, it's not about methadone but about getting off street dope using methadone. As a said before, the "buddy symstem' of detox usually doesn't work too well. I hope you get through this and stay off dope .

Is there anyone out there who has come across this? I am on Fentanyl 100mgm 72 hr patch, I take Roxicodone 30 mg 4 x day, Diazepam 10mg 4 x day, Cymbaltal 60 mg 1 x day, Lycra 50mg 3 x day and I take generic Tylenol every several hours and switch it with IB Profin on the odd day. With this said, I have been seeing the same pain Dr for the last 2 yrs. I have had 3 major surgeries in that 2 year span (total of 8 cervical fusions).

I also think your B/F is taking a lot more methadone to be so cationic from it I had similar symptoms when I was taking 150mg....tapering off methadone is tuff to do as addicts we are always looking for a pill to fix what is wrong this is not a solution please take the warning as serious he is not having normal reactions to the combination...

I just want some encouragement as i was on subutex and got down to 6 mg and did a 2yr music degree and then aftyer the corse finished I home detoxed but it went wrong with this and that , well basically i used , and used for about 3 weeks ....

Only certain doctors can prescribe it and it is used to wean of opiates. It is along the same route as methadone. Some people never come off methadone or suboxone. If you think that would help you talk to your doctor but don't get it off the street.

hey....DON'T GO TO METHADONE!!!!!!!!!....you would be way better off just stopping what your on now! Methadone is much, much, harder to get off!!!!.....I was taking oxy, hydro, perc, anything I could find...got tired of withdrawals when I didn't have any ...then I was told "take methadone, it's much easier to get off" RIGHT!!..looking back had I just tapered them I would have been much better off! I was on methadone for 7+yrs...worse yrs of my life!

Is it possible to get completely off methadone and if so how can it be done without going into shock.

you should be able to talk to your pain management dr about uping your dose rather then being forced to the street to score...methadone turned out to be a disaster for me... first off I got into it with my pain management dr about my treatment plan...it included aim point steroid shots in my spin and they where causing scare tissue to form so I wouldn't take them any more..
