Methadone and methadose are the same medication. Methadose (40 mg and above) comes in wafers/tablets that can be broken in halves or quarters to reach the required dosage and can be dissolved in water before taking if needed.
Methadone tablets/liquid are taken whole.
I take 95mg of methadone a day. I take 8 mg klonipins a day. I also take 1mg xanax as needed. Am I in any danger?
If we knew what type of drugs and how much he was taking PRIOR to the methadone we may be able to give you an educated guess.The fact is though the dosage amount of the methadone is not really the issue here.The fact that your son is still very much in active addiction and playing a deadly game with some fatal combinations is the real issue.You can't blame his behavior on the methadone,thats not what is doing this.
i couldnt exactly tell if it was methadone youare on for pain or other painkillers, but assuming its methadone you are on for pain its definitely going to be hard to get off of, it is a very effective pain killer and long alsting, and prduces less of a rush or euphoria than heroin and toehr strong opiates, but it is very addicting and can be lethal.- i am on it for a bad addiction to heroin and oxycontin(snorted) and its a great treatment option for me, but its def. addicting too.
For anyone who has ever taken Methadone for chronic pain management...When you first started taking Methadone, how long did it take for it to control your pain? How many days, weeks, etc.?
My best friend was started on Methadone to manage completely debilitating chronic pain that is the result of multiple, major, back-to-back abdominal surgeries. Tonight marks the fourth full day of her being on Methadone, and she's really not feeling any better. How long can it take?
ve taken 60 mg before except I did not take the methadone at the same time.But, only 60 mg did the trick, with methadone in my system, but not taken at the same time.
How close am I to overdosing? What IS the deadly combo? I just know this: 70 mg of methadone is great for my feet. But my shoulder? Doesn't touch that pain. It's acute. Now what?
is taking this much narcotics safe? do you think this dosage of methadone is sufficient at the beginning to replace the oxy for pain control? is it ok for him to start using the ultram as he is tapering off the oxy (to be taking all three drugs for a period)?

As everyone else has asked - How's she doing? There's an anti-dote to opiate overdose, including Methadone called Naltrexone. I hope they're keeping her in the hospital because Methadone overdose is tricky because of it's long half-life. They can bring you back in the ER - you walk out and you can go under again. So, if they have the tox. #'s - that's good - they can gauge where's she's at.
ve been having muscular pain in the shoulder area around the teres major/minor or infraspinitus it feels like somebody is twisting the muscle sending pain shooting down my arm, my doctor has prescribed first co codamol 30-500s then gave me gabapentin then changed the co-codamol to dihydrocodine, the problem i have is that the amount i was prescribed to take is not working , I have increased the dosage of gabapentin (as suggested by doctor) to 900mg and the dihydrocodine (not by doctors advice) t
The dosage amount is based on your body composition, height, weight, etc., so 1800mg (while it is an exceedingly high dosage) could possibly be a normal dosage size for someone large in stature.
I was under the idea that it was common knowledge that overdosing on any drug can be fatal, but I guess you didn't know.
I think they still qual to give it. I would have wanted a doctors order but with overdose you only have a small window to save pt.. That is probally what they were thinking he was ODing on Methadone..
He is correct though that most people die from the aceta- overdose than the actual overdose of the opiate. It is a horrible death too and is irreversible. Within 12-24 hours of the overdose you start to feel sick to your stomach and usually cannot hold down food and water. During the next 24 hours the person usually feels better but is just the calm before the storm. Right around the 48 hour mark is when your liver starts to shut down and takes the kidneys down with it....
Have you had a follow up blood test to monitor your dosage change to 50mcg? It certainly sounds like hyper symptoms to me, but you should be monitored closely and tested with any dosage change. Call your doc and describe your symptoms and ask why you haven't been tested to check the effectiveness of your new dosage change. You should have been tested at 6 weeks!
i just discovered i have been giving my 41 year old daughter twice the amount of NEUTRA-PHOS-K powder as prescribed.....(the mgram amount is not listed on the packets) the prescribed dosage is one packet twice daily and i have been giving her 2 packets twice daily for about 2 weeks.....is she in any danger if i just go back to the prescribed dosage right now ?...
