Don't worry about the silly test. If it's a urine test the medications will show up in your urine, especially the methadone. It has a very long half life. Please reconsider the way you are taking your medication and be honest with your self and the doctors. You will be much better off in the short and long run. good luck.
I'm pretty sure methadone would deff show up in drug test. It's a strong long lasting drug.
When they test for M'done in urine (at least on a clinic) they test for it's metabolite (called EDDP for short) & it's ratio to creatinine levels,
There is a drug called Bentyl (Dicycloverine) prescribed for IBS that can potentially cause a false positive. There may be others too. It also depends on how good the lab is that is doing the testing. Sometimes there's sloppy work or cross-contamination, particularly in the 'collection' phase.
I'd request a retest.
Welcome to the forum..I was in a methadone clinic here in Michigan...we were allowed to take pretty much anything if we had a rx for it..That is unfortunate that they don;t allow that..i am sorry..does your friend that gave you the "sample" take methadone? they tested for it at the clinic i was at to make sure it was in fact in your system..you need to really makes sure it is the right temp...I understand how bad it sux to not have take homes..Do you get a week?
I see my Primary Care (PC) MD for all of my prescriptions including pain meds. I have a pain management doc that I see every 3-6 months tho, and the Pm doc makes the recommendations that my PC follows.
I am in a pain comtract with my PC. Because I use Med Cannabis we agreed that I could continue without being kicked out. We just lined that item out of the contract and both initialed it.

Urine test will tend to be longer, but not by much. I did some further reading for you and consulting other colleagues. Benzos CAN show up in the urine for as long as 6 weeks after chronic, prolonged use, but no longer then 48 hours in blood.
Methadone will only show for 24 hours in blood and no longer then 3 days in urine after last dose. So I think someone may be not quite truthful with you. I feel bad for her kids. You can send her to detox at my clinic.
Anyhow I go bi-monthly in December they gave me a urine test. The only things I took was my Methadone which they prescribe me and 3-4 days back took a 30mg roxy and a 1mg xanex which is not prescribed to me.
So took the oxy on Thursday & the Xanex on Friday or Saturday and my urine test at the pain management was the following Monday.

i have been told several stories concerning whether klonipin will give a positive result in a urine benzo test. i am going to be tested randomly and am taking klonipin, having switched from xanax, and was told that the klonipin would not show up in the test for benzos. i need medication for anxiety and am currently undergoing daily methadone maintanence and am not supposed to have benzos in my system.
do we have ANY rights here? DO people ON Methadone Maintenance of Suboxone HAVE any rights with regards to how we are treated and if we have put together all these years of compliance with not just urine screens but groups, counseling attendance (ALL SPOTLESS!) and behavioral issues, etc why can't we get ONE benefit of the doubt?
You have hepC? I don't think that would mess up a urine test. Insist on another one. Labs aren't perfect. My hubby had HCV for 40 years. His developed into Primary Liver Cancer. Got a liver transplant and did the old TX of Interferon. Relapsed. Did Harvoni 2 years ago and he's cured. He had MANY blood and urine tests. He took a LOT of pain meds. Nothing weird ever showed up.I'm pretty sure HCV doesn't even show up in a urine test!
I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT. I AM ON METHADONE FOR BACK PAIN AND WENT IN FOR A DRUG TEST AND IT DID NOT SHOW UP IN THE OPIATE CATAGORY; AND EVEN MY DR THAT PRESCRIBED IT DID NOT KNOW THIS. Suboxone is listed as a Category C drug (adverse effects in lab animals.) Methadone is considered safe for pregnancy. Since you are already on it, your OBGYN might want to switch you to Subutex w/o the Nalaxone in it. Hello Lass,First off is this just routine,or is their some reason of diversion like due you work as a nurse ,and if so,are they checking only you or are you on a Methadone program and all they want to know is there any hydrocodone in yopur system to bebin with,as same not so bright addicts say that they are on this and that and when they run a urine screen,nothing shows up,even the drug that they say is their drug of choice.
i was urine tested several weeks ago and passed then they came back and said i had eddp-ms in my urine which is methadone metabolites but i havent taken metadone i am however on several medications for bi-polar dissorder and was wondering what if anything would cause me to test positive for the metabolites but not the methadone
What kind of test did they do? Did they dip in the urine or send it out? I see this happening all the time. One person on here put a Journal up describing all the OTC things and some foods that can come up showing drugs that we did not take. BTW I am almost 3 and a half yrs clean off of a 12 yr ride on Methadone. I had some of those test done in the office for other reasons and one came up as POT!! Right, my pot days where way back in the 60s-70s..
Before that, I was in a Methadone program for 4 years, at a dose of 130 mgs per day. I started the Suboxone in February. In June, I tested positive for Methadone. The doctor sent out the urine to be retested at a lab, and it was still positive. He dismissed this, and did not kick me out of the program. Now, in November, I tested positive again. I have not had any Methadone since February. I have read that Methadone stays in your liver and fat cells.
Yesterday he was more sympathetic, when I stated my concerns of ANOTHER NEGATIVE URINE TEST.... He STILL acted as if I was in control of the upcoming test results though!!
EVEN THOUGH, they've probably seen many cases of this, I suppose it's easier to see things as black or white rather than an instance of gray!! It's maybe easier to cast doubt on the patient, than question the drug tests OR the medicine itself!!
if i was to take the promethazine and my oxycodone isnt it possible that the meth in promethazine and the done on oxycodone could show up as methadone, it has to because i have never taken methadone in my life.
ve read that 2 months things may not show up in blood test but it is still likely that they would have, and I am still low risk of HIV HEPC/B.
But from what I have read it could be such things, I have been to the doctor and A&E many times and reassured that there is nothing wrong, but in a 10 min convo and quick look and explanation there is always something left out (maybe I just don't trust doctors much?

who is giving u the urine test? sub doesnt show up in an emplyment urine screen //only narcotics...ur sub dr has a test for sub tho..but it wouldnt be out of ur system in 3 days even had u not used it at all for three days...it takes a while as the drug has a long half life...urine drug screens for jobs test for benzos, pot, cocaine, narcotics (not sub tho) but i do think methadone shows up on most 10 panel drug screens..
What is causing the false positive for methadone? The urine test was done by an 11 panel urine tester. Can I ask for blood test? It ***** to be accused of something you have not done. The only difference in the last 2 years is that Lycra 50 mg 3x day and IB Profin every other day, I just started these 2 drugs in the last 4-5 weeks......that is the only difference.
