Are they prescribing suboxone in Canada yet ?

I have looked all over for this, my doctor says not available in canada, only suboxone, looking at leaflet the side effects are crazy yet subutex, nothing! I have a problem with naloxone, need straight SUBUTEX! I can't find proper details about this, anyone help, BTW I AM NOT AN ADDICT! I have never abused heroin or injected anything, etc........ If you look at leaflet, a page and a half of "side effects for suboxone where, only i small paragraph for subtex!

in montreal, province of quebec in canada that can prescribe to me methadone or at worst other drugs to heal me from heroïn addiction,please...???

I don't know abt in the U.S....I am from Canada, but my PAIN MANAGEMENT physician will prescribe methadone or any other pain med....

I thing it is the naloxone, as if you read the leaflet of side effects, it is discussing, for suboxone, yet subtext, rarely any! He said they dont have subutex in canada, just suboxone, and i cant find the truth to is! I wish i would have just kept trucking, cause now husband.... are like when r u getting off....... THEY JUST DONT UNDERSTAND! I was never like this prior to beginning done in first place!

Hi & sorry to read about the refill issue... Not familiar with guidelines for Prescriptions in Canada. I live in USA and am required to use one pharmacy for "Controlled" medications - except in an emergency. Sounds like the Pharmacist entered your prescription and it was blocked, probably temporarily, until he communicates with your MD. Am confident your script will be filled however you might need to have this done at your usual Pharmacy.

Last Tuesday I went to my methadone doctor like I do any other Tuesday I get all my carrys here in Canada we get drinks. So I get my 6 drinks one supervised. I drive home and put on a movie and thats all about what I remember. Next think I do remember I'm in the emergency room with all kinds of tubes and wirer's hooked up to me.

Hi I would like to know if anyone experiences after missing only one drink 65mgs do you get very weak I mean you can hardly get dressed weak. The specialist from Toronto faxed them a letter on what she thinks is best (methadone) also my midwife called the clinic and left a msg and so did I and they have not called me back. From hat I hear from everywhere I have went lately is that in Canada methadone is the stanard opiate for pregnant women?!?! I really don't want on it because I hear its so so so much harder to get off plus the risks of the baby being addicted at birth.

going from methadone to sub is tricky bisnenss when you know what your doing do it wrong and you go into persipatatated withdrawals or the 7th level of hell and many a member has sent them selfs there trying this on there own even some doctors make the mistake as a general rule you need to be at or below 20mg of methadone and in full blow withdrawals according to the C O W S scale only a doctor cant tell you when that is if done right sub can be used for 90 days to beat the withdrawals from meth

I have taken methadone for pain for 14years and my life has been very stable, but in canada at least in the rural areas the doctor writes a script and the private pharmacies dispense the med. some people do go daily, but those who are stable go weekly. Best to you.

I have been going to a methadone clinc for 4 years,with 2 straight years of good drug screens,my councelor called me tdy and said that methadone didnt show up in my most recent test.i was on 80mg a day the last 2 months i droped down to 70 mg a day,but she is saying that there was none in my system.and that is just not humanly possible,so now i have to have a supervised drug screen done weekly.can anyone tell me what i should do? i go to a clinic can i request the test to be retested?

Also, when a treatment gets approved in the States, it takes some time for it to be approved in Canada as we are behind the U.S.

Does anyone have any names of docs in Canada who deal with AD. We were vacationing in Australia, both got bit by jellyfish. I had AD for 3 months and it went away. He still has it after 2 years. He was healthy, young 35 yr old with no health issues. It's crazy, I could make a movie out of our experience. Any help is appreciated.

The 30 patient limit for Suboxone prescribing doctors has been raised to 100. So if you notice a surge of people with Suboxone questions... this is why. And it's use is likely to increase even more in the future as it becomes accepted as a better alternative to methadone and for it's use in detoxing... just putting it out there.

i have been going down on my methadone from 105mg to 65mg in about 4weeks and don't want to go back up but wonder how long it will take for my levels to stabalize or if there is anything i can do to feel better faster

Hi there, The methadone wds stories I've read are exactly why I wanted to go on sub. But my doctor refused to even let me try and told me basically methadone or nothing. i started taking 2 10mg methadone a day (he has prescribed 3 but I kept it at two, when I took 3 I broke out in a rash and hives..I'm staying at 2!

I wanted to go on suboxone and found a sub doctor. I just spent the last 24 hours in withdrawls preparing to go in today and see the doc and leave with a prescription for sub. Well the doc saw me but instead of prescribing me sub he told me that sub wouldn't take care of my back pain and said he wanted me to start methadone pills instead. I begged him to at least let me try sub and he said no. I am very upset right now.
