A lot of my patients these days with chronic pain issues (cancer, etc) are prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>methadone</span>
. And, of course many people take other Narcotics on as "as needed" basis for pain (Percocet, Vicodin, etc)...and I tell you, it seems that the people who have been on long-term methadone
are WAY more concerned about getting their dose of that versus an "as needed" dose of another narcotic.
I guess methadone
also gives the user a "high", similar to a Percocet?
