a THOUGHT that leads to an OBSESSIVE THOUGHT only lasts 12-16 seconds and from my personal experience ..because Im on methadone I dont have the first thought that leads to negative obsessive thoughts because Im keeping myself occupied with positive things that Ive missed out on doing for so many years. I hope this post helps someone out there. Im not a big "talker" but I did my best.. sorry if any of this is hard to understand.

i went off of them in july and the pain got worse and the worse the pain got the worse the cravings got. so my doctor put me on methadone at a low dose to see if it would help with the pain. the good thing is it doesn't make me high or euphoric like lortab did and it has totally stopped my cravings. i don't know how long i will stay on it, i'm taking it one day at a time. i have heard that it is hard to get off of but can be better if you wean your self off at a slow pace.

Can someone with Hep-c be treated if there have stage 2-inflammation and stage 4 cirrhosis with the Genotype 2.

Does the brain treat methadone the same as heroin? I am on mmt day 2 and having second thoughts.. I don't really want to become dependent on yet another drug..Ready for nightmare to be over. I was thinking of now leaving the clinic on day 4 in hopes the heroin would be out of system. I'm soooo sick of being sick.

you best bet now is to do a fast taper off the sub whatever you do dont go to methadone...the withdrawals from methadone are the worst of all the narcotics if your on sub stay on it if you need to use it to stay clean in that case plug into N/A or A/A or seek consoling to build up your foundation so when you do go off the sub your standing on your own 2 feet....

Long term use of any chemical that effects brain transmitters surely could cause damage. Where that line is is something of an unknown. We all have different makeups in the way our bodies process toxins. Sopping is a big start though. It halts whatever process is going on. How much a person's system can repair such things is a very hard question to answer though..Not using vs using is always the best first approach though.
