Hi and welcome to the forum....well I was on methadone for 6 1//2yrs and also have bipolar disorder so taking antidepressants was a fact of life for me...I had good luck with celexa will taking methadone...very little side effects mixing the 2 together but all antidepressant are not the same...I agree with mr lucky on asking your dr he/she
should at least know your on the methadone...
I was attempting to enter a smoking sessation trial and had to go through a battery of test; one of which was a urinalysis. I did my business in a cup the first time in which they found traces of thc in my system. So two weeks later I peed in a cup again in which they found thc and methadone. Okay after the first fail I stopped smoking. It's been over 1 month since smoke any weed and it's not only still in my systerm but there's methadone as well?
I was on methadone for 6 1/2yrs and after being down that road and living it I could never recommend it to anyone...it took me 8 1/2 mo of grueling taper going in and out of withdrawals along the way the last 6 weeks you sorta are in a constant state of withdrawal ..you think you got sleep problems now for oxy....
Hello: My niece is coming to live with us, she is leaving a bad place and we are wanting to help, so the way this is working out she is now in a city where she is staying with a trusted friend but has no access to her 100mg/day meth. We have improvised by swapping meth with indica weed. She's coming here in a week to stay, she seems to be managing "ok" w/ some anxiety on the weed and it's legal here. The question is do we continue or what.
I am on methadone maintenance program and get tested monthly. I honestly have never done amphetamines. Only thing I have done is smoke a little weed. I have checked all websites for possibilities as to why this could occur and I have not taken any of the meds that can cause a false. I am really baffled as to why I tested positive for amphetamines when I've never taken them or any cold meds that could test positive for it. Anyone know why this could occur??
After severe depression and one pretty bad crying spell, I ****** up and smoked some weed. This made my anxiety levels go through the roof, my legs which were previously a bit restless for day 2- 3 but still manageable started to feel 5 times worse, I started to feel like I couldn't breathe. So I got my emergency pill 10mg, all I have left and took half, an hour later took the other.
Glad to hear your feeling good and congrats on 16 days off the pills. You will beat this as long as you know you can't go back and keep your guard up, your doing great. As far as the weed, just be careful not to switch addictions. I have heard it helped some with w/d's, but since this is a drug forum, nobody will tell you to smoke it. Myself, I have nothing against it, but it is a drug still and addictive for some. Stay strong man.
what is worrying me is that you are taking other meds (methadone pills) and smoking weed. I know the dr isnt prescribing that so I would stop any and all things that arent prescribed for you. Those other things CAN get your child taken away. In fact I have a friend who smoked weed during her pregnancy and when she gave birth she tested positive for it of course and now she has to go to drug classes 4 times a week and take drug tests in order to keep her child.
Methadone is a tough drug to come off but there's a lot of people here who gone through and will be able to give you some great hints. What dose were you on and for how long? Have you tapered down?
Hi Usertolong:) When I was on methadone I did a long and slow taper. I didn't have a bad withdrawal experience at all. I was a heroin user before so I like you worried about the detox being like that. I was taking methadone for pain at 30ml. I tapered long and slow over years and had no withdrawal symptoms. I also talked with my doctor she prescribed clonadine and nausea medication. My psychiatrist has me taking a antidepressant, mood stabilizer and a low dose benzo.
If I were you I would tell the doc or clinic that you go to that you want to come off Methadone can be very dangerous to come off of cold turkey so if I were you I would taper off this.
h ello my name is Brian i am 24 I see a doc that gives me a bottle of 90 ten mg methadone tabs i have been on the methdone for about a year and a half now. i usually only take 20 mg and have some left over to take when i need sence im suppose to take 30mg i am also on klonopin 1 mg twice a day but i get extras from my mom and i take about 4-5 at night time and i know thats not safe at all but idk i like the feeling.
Hi, r u tapering the methadone real slow? I've been on methadone over 7yrs on 80-90mg, I've been tapering since Sept. and I'm on 2.5mg now and almost done with it. U have to give your body time to adjust to each drop before u go down again. U might want to try the calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement, it helps with the rls. I guess if u want off them bad enough u just have to endure the awful withdrawals, that's how I look at it. Remember it's only temporary.
I couldn't get clean after 3-4 years of trying different things. I went to the local Methadone Clinic last April and it's worked very well. No slips and learning ways to live... Anyway, I've never missed a day. I called Sunday morning as it was predicted we'd get 15+ inches of snow. I wanted to switch my Wed. take home to Monday as a blizzard was coming... well.. the nurse told me "NO WAY --- we will be here.
t do opiates anymore of anykind (i can smoke weed and other things) but no opiates.I was smoking weed,and taking aphetamine like hell... But that is OK...In my case,cuz i didn't use amphetamines so much.Anyway,craving and wish for opiates didn't stop,cuz natlrexone isn't psychoactive or it is when you take it after taking or cracking the "baricade" on your nano opoid recepors (n,mu...).And it will get you in to really bad withdrawal BELIVE ME,from expirience.
No I don’t smoke weed anymore:). I am a take off the band-aid slow type person. When I suffered before I always went back to using. I am an ex heroin user for over ten years. Went to methadone and used that and now I don’t use anything. IMO there’s no RIGHT way to do this. I did manage to avoid withdrawals and that helped me succeed. This was my experience.............
if he uses methadone with pain pills it will definitely make him high, hence droopy eyes and drowsy, google methadone and you can read lots of info. about it. most methadone programs make them provide urine samples. if they give a dirty sample they have to go to the clinic everyday and don't provide take homes.
I have been addicted to marijuana, methadone and ultram for the past 25 years. I've been to rehab 3 times in the past 2 years. I am going to try to detox at home and could use some advice. I'm 54 and need help now!!!! I don't feel like I can make another day.
Hey Drifter, Your in the right place and will get much support here. I was like you and needed to detox in secret. I have 3 kids and my day consisted of very physical activity. Please reconsider the meth pills. Physically it won't help for long and mentally it will just add to the anxiety and weeding out games. If you are to taper and have 40 pills left, you can defiantly soften the blow. For a longer taper could you tell your Doc of your plans to get a few more to stretch it out?
