methadose

Avatar f tn I have been on methadone HCL and morphine IR for several years, (chronic pain from bike accident/fractured neck, several surgeries, etc) ut originally was put on oxycontin and soma! I quit soma after 2 yrs cold turkey and then the oxy too with the help of great doctor and methadone. I have tapered methadone down from 14 tabs day (10 mg) to 5/day and the morphine from 6/day (15mg) to 3/day (recently went 2.
1263062 tn?1289450701 I am not a Doctor but I took Soma for five years and did not become dependent. I know a lot of fellow back pain sufferers who use it and get good relief. One has to function with chronic pain as best you can and only you know your body. The fact that you say "you like them too much" to me says that you are not an addict type. But that's just me. It sounds like you are aware of you strengths and weaknesses.
Avatar m tn I have severe chronic back pain due to an auto accident I was in many years ago. I've been on several different muscle relaxers including Skelaxin and Flexeril. Skelaxin did not help me at all but Flexeril did. The Flexeril worked great for many years until it stopped and I had to switch to a new med and that's when my Dr put me on the Soma. The Soma does work great but I struggle to keep it under control.
Avatar f tn I've been taking norcos for about a year anywhere from 6-20/day. I've tapered it down to 6-8/day and took my last norco at 10pm last night with 2 somas. I woke up at 6am (i usually wake up in early am from early withdrawals) and took two more soma and a tramadol. I decided today is going to be the day, I made it until 11. I took a bath and 5 mg of methadone. after 30 mins I felt ok! I made until 5ish and took another 5mg and tramadol. I now only have 3 1/2 10mgs.
Avatar f tn Methadone is a tough drug to come off but there's a lot of people here who gone through and will be able to give you some great hints. What dose were you on and for how long? Have you tapered down?
Avatar m tn You are on darvocet, soma, and zanaflex? Did your doctor really prescribe all those together? No wonder you have shortness of breath. That mixture can be a death sentence from what I understand...
Avatar n tn Your exactly right its all in the getrting used to the not taking them,what-ever they may happen to be especially when we are on something way stronger. I know im waiting for a hip-replacement sergury and im on 80mgs of methadone liquid foer pain, and today i get my perks, mostly to make a few bucks, but i stillpopped 30 altogetherjust to get that high. The high that dont exest anymore.I coulld pop the whole bottle over the course of a few days and yes a mild reaction, but f-ALL in the big picture.

662972 tn?1270166301 Mr Lucky66 I am on 95mg methadone and it burns a lot and mornings it sick to throw up point and if I do feel fine all I throw up is acid like stuff.
Avatar f tn Since the person you describe is already addicted to methadone, if the pain problem is chronic and permanent, and the dosage is effective without being high enough to affect function, it might be better to just stay on it. If he/she gets off it, there will be misery from the withdrawals, in addition to the pre-existing pain, which will not be relieved by any other opiate as long as the methadone stays active.
Avatar f tn The soma is not a narcotic and as such will not affect your Norco w/d's........ at day 5 you should be so very close.......are you following the Anino Acid Protocol? The amino's will help the foggy head feeling..... and they will help you get normal again .............
Avatar n tn i am on 95mg of methadone and am now perscribed soma 350mg what are the side effects
Avatar f tn I switched to 50mg of methadone and 40 mg of Norco for pain management. Well then I started researching methadone and realized it was not any better. So I did a taper down and then a 3 day rapid detox. I was still on the Norco 10mg 4 times a day but coming off the methadone was hell. I was in the clouds so to speak for well over 30days and could barely function. This has been a process for over 6 months btw.
Avatar f tn old an have heart trouble, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, liver functions are high, and have herniated and buldging disc from Mva,and have been taking, methadone, lorcet, some,& xanax for 12 years,an i'm terrified,With my health and all the meds i take, would it be better to have an abortion?
Avatar m tn Hey All - About a Year ago or so - I was on Methadone for chronic back pain, and became Dependant and Abusive. Since then, I had admitted this to my Doctor, and Tapered off...But it was definately no picnic. Was one of the worst Experiences in my life. Now - For the past few months - Ive been on the 10/325 mg Vicodin for my back, Which helps, but only for a Short while.
Avatar f tn severve panic attacs,an have herniated and buldging disc in my neck, thorasic, and lumbar,so i have been on methadone, lorcet, soma, and xanax for 12 years, and found out i was 8 weeks pregnant,i have been taking my medicine daily not knowing i was pregnant, and now there trying to detox me off everything but methadone, and you can not detox off methadone while pregnant.I don't know if this medicine has hurt the baby,i did have a ultra sound and the baby has a good heart beat.
Avatar f tn You say you have been on weed, cocaine, dilaudid, fentanyl, hydrocodone, soma, valium, tramadol, oxycodone and methadone. Out of all those addictive drugs.....you only "need" the hydrocodone? Do you consider yourself an addict? The reason I ask you that is because in one part of your story you said you take 8 Norcos/day and then later you said you only take 1-10 mg Norco every 4 hrs and you can take as prescribed? Even if you only sleep 6 hrs a night, that leaves 18 hrs awake....
175688 tn?1297556647 soma is more like valium. all three are addicting, so really it's not a good idea to use it for w/d, in my opinion.
Avatar f tn I have a couple of questions, and I am really in need of some advice. I am a 30 year old female, with severe back problems. Ive bee prescribed oxycodone for 3 years now. In the past year I have starting abusing my medication, and buying it off the streets. Recently, it has gotten so bad that I take anywhere between 15-25 oxycodone a day. I have lied, cheated and stole for this med. My family found out about my addiction, and it has made me realize I need help.
Avatar f tn Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient from methadone or any other opiate and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates). At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, than half at night, than every other night and then none.
Avatar f tn t take the withdrawals away completly but it did help so much.. i was able to get up and around after 2 days and eating , and it keeps the anxiety down.. just my own opinion ..
1386425 tn?1280119158 i cant tell his doctor bc honestly idk wat he would do and we dont have insurance to pay for a methadone clinic...anyways he recently started having uncontrolable shakes and tonite was particularly worse...i thought he was screwing with me bc he was great all day...then i heard that mixing hydros n soma cause muscle skeletal problems...really idk wat could b wrong he wont let me call the er...he says hes fine...he also told me his incision started bleeding some today...
Avatar f tn Ok, I have read in older posts that sneezing is normal. But is 23 times from 7:30-9:30 am normal for day 22? Is there anyone out there that is sneezing this much or did you? It's just crazy that I can't even answer the phone at times. I am feeling much better, mind is clearer, a little more energy but have Fibromyalgia and 4 herniated discs so haven't been active but getting better.
