methadose

Hi, Can you give us more info. Did you have a previuos addiction or are just curious? Most Nyquil does have alcohol in it.
i know youre considered under the influence (if you get pulled over) and your on nyquil even. Because it makes you drowsy. So my guess would be no.
One night I took half of amount it says of NyQuil and slept for exactly 3 hours.Felt great to get some rest.good luck and keep coming back.I still believe in the "one day at a time"..
He may also be able to give you the name of a reputable and informative website that has that type of info. Melatonin helps with sleep and is natural remedy, but again, not sure about the interaction. Nyquil helps too.
he's always tired and constantly feeling like ****. He has been talking about comming off of methadone for some time now and is very annoyed that his doctor wont let him. yesturday my hubby has informed me that he stopped taking him methadone 3 days ago and has poured his carries down the drain. He plans on quitting cold turkey. Aware of all the side effects, my husband is very stubborn and is tired of the liquid handcuffs. So far so good...
The access to Xanex and Hydros is just as dangerous as the Methadone....and will keep you in the cycle of addiction. I so hope you are ready to make some big changes....we'll be here....
Looking to see if anyone has suggestions for the withdrawal symptoms from Methadone. I just finished a 6 month program and started my first day today with 0mg. I had been lowered 5mg every 3 days. I know this dosen't work for everyone but mentally even before I decided to try Methadone I was DONE with oxycotin, perc's, xanax's and everything else I used in pill form. I know that I will tough it out because I went 2 wks with nothing while waiting to get into the clinic.
decreasing dose 10% every 72 hours
He is trying to go off the methadone. But he cannot see a doctor because we are not insured, and also because if he mentions that he is taking methadone without a prescription he and his step mom could get into big trouble. He is waiting for his pills to arrive in the mail, and he's been without methadone for 3 days. He hasn't been able to sleep, he complains about headaches, stomach aches, and is very irritable.
if methadone used to be your drug of choice then you know all about it, so why would you even consider starting on that? i don't get it. it's like the longest WD imaginable, well, except maybe Sub, from what i've heard. wouldn't it be much much worse than the loritabs?
Will this pass faster since I was only on Methadone for 6mnths? I topped at 65mg and tapered by 5mg every 3 days....and i asked if theu could maybe split up my five....maybe after a few days of mg5 (was on 5mg for 6 days at the end) and they said no...which I was told I COULD DO...but thats besides the point. I am here now and mentally I still am just getting very tired. Anyone in similar situation or a past situation that relates?
all I can say is WOW he's got a huge habit and if he's been taking upwards of 300mg of methadone a day his withdrawals are going to get progressively worst for the first 2 weeks....methadone is not like pills you dont break free in a week or so....the withdrawal is long and hard...I was on 150ml of it and tapered off over 8 1/2 mo and was sick sick for a month..it took a good 90days to even start to really feel better...
She even went on antidepressents to help, but when she went down only 3 mg, she was freaking out and decided to go back up. Then she found a website about methadone and the people in the forum there promote staying on it forever. They actually compare methadone to insulin, and when people go there asking questions about detoxing they get angry at calling it "detoxing" ("you wouldn't detox from insulin would you?") and they give the person reasons to stay on it.
Hey Girl good to see you post and im happy for you the vitamins came from a dr website about methadone and they helped me a lot they are protacall here on the forum for any body detoxing off of methadone and you got it right you take it 1 day at a time and just know there will be good days and bad it is great your sleeping it get tuff around 20 mg you just have to to make due on cat naps are you going down once a week or every 2 weeks??
When attempting to take days off of the drug completely I become extremely weak, have nausua, and have no energy. yada yada...withdrawel. I may have the option to obtain methadone and was wondering if these is a safe and effective way of coming off of this opiate. About 3 weeks ago I took 10mg methadone each day for 7 days and it really helped.
Today I'm 75 days clean from methadone and all opiates. I feel AMAZING!!!, its unbelievable what I've accomplished and how my mindset has changed in just 75 days. It took about 30 days before i could get out of bed, then another week or so before i started feeling better, i still had problems with sweating, but other than that i was happy to be finally FREE!! I'm now working, taking the steps to become a better person, & doing the next best thing in my life.
I was going to research the web for any info that might help and found this. I started reading some of these posts and started to cry. I am scared of the pain and withdrawals. But I have to do this.I can't keep having to take pills to help me do everything. I only take 20mg a day sometimes 30mg. It doesn't seem like a lot but I have been taking them like this for 3 1/2 yrs so their reaaly in my systom. I don't know what to do. I really can't believe that I am addicted.
I tried Nyquil and other things and they just didn't help. Nyquil made it worse I think because I was even more tired and not able to sleep. I've been doing a lot of AA/NA meetings since I stopped my taper.....It has been helpful.
I have been on methadone on and off for eight years now.The last five and a half years have been on methadone. It's always helped me stay clean.I feel that it's time for me to get off now and I am really scared because this is a road I've been down before and was the worst experience I've ever had to endure.I feel that I am strong enough to handle the withdrawl symptoms but I am very worried about not being able to sleep.
Get some Emergen-C drink mix and dose up on Vitamin C. Also, make sure you are taking a multi-vitamin everyday AND get yourself some GABA (in health food stores). Trust me, I was CRAWLING until I discovered the GABA. It doesn't get rid of it but it seemed to take the 'edge' off for me. The no-sleep is a killer...I suffered from it really bad. Can you talk to a doctor? there are things they can give you to knock you out for a few hours that aren't habit forming (i.e. trazadone).
ok heres my story: I'm a recovering heroin addict & I've been taking methadone for the last 8 years. I've been taking 90mgs for the past 5 of those years. I'm at the point where I want to get off completely, so I've been tapering off for the past full year, and am now down to 42mgs. I feel uncomfortable everyday, the only thing that helps is my prescription for klonapin. I was tapering at 1mg a week but having a problem paying $45 week.
I dont know how long you will go with no sleep I detoxed off it right and it was around 2mo before I started to get back to normal sleep....the post withdrawal on methadone can last a wile it took me a good 90 days to start to come out of it and thats pritty typical ...I have helped others do this and it was the same for them ....this is a real challenge to your endurance just do your best try to eat right exercise and just know you eventually will get better...
My daughter began offering me methadone and I cried but I took it. I took it for approx. a year (10mg. a day) and then I decided I had to stop that as well. I finished taking it and was terrified what would happen to me ... but nothing happened. I didn't get sick or have withdrawls - nothing. I'll accept that that wasn't normal but I appreciate such a wonderful 'gift.' I wouldn't suggest that anyone 'play' musical drugs ... what works for one person may be the worst thing for someone else.

- its specifically with methadone, as far as I know. With other opiate testing, certain types of inhalers and some non steroidals will cause a false positive but I'm pretty sure that's rare.

My wife ran and got me some Nyquil, and Simply Sleep. The shakes and sweats started immediately on day one around 11am. I called in sick at work, ran home, took a shot of Nyquil and knocked myself out! The nightime was worst for me. Hot and cold so I took one half of a Vic and it got me through the night. Day 1-3 are rough. Day 4 was much better and today I feel like superman. You can do this!!!!!!! Fight like hell, and think of your kids and family! We are with you!
I didnt drink last night I just took a klonopin and a few shots of nyquil with some valerian root and it wasnt enough to knock me out and overpower the RLS. I think I fell asleep somewhere around 9am. But I did wake up at 4 so I guess its still a decent nights sleep. I dont know what it is this time around but it is just a cakewalk compared every other w/d ive gone through including hydrocodone. That is so weird considering how much stronger fentanyl is than hydrocodone/oxycodone.
PS NyQuil may present a false positive for methadone....
