My doctor recently suggested that I try Amrix as a muscle relaxer, and commented that Valium is addictive (and Amrix not), and that a side benefit of Amrix was that it would help with sleep. I tried it for about ten days, and found that it resulted in an increase in daytime sleepiness. This I can ill afford, as, like most commuters, I`m reasonably sleep deprived anyway, at least during the week. I also couldn't detect much impact on muscle relaxation, and so I stopped.
soma is not for most people but it can be a problem for some...zanaflex, flexeril, baclofen are some muscle relaxers that could help with cramping and sleep....it is important to get ur sleep to make it thru the physical part of wd...good luck to u..there r also supps etc that can help..read thru the health pages..there is also an article in my journal about rls..
my cousin gave me his left over muscle relaxers, they are 10mg cybol something but anyway i took two when he first gave them to me and it wasnt what i wanted all i remember is passing out sleep. so my question is if i take one do you think it will relax me at night not like im havin a hard time sleeping cuz i do smoke weed but im curios to see if it willrelax my muscles im not looking for the oxy high i just want to relax any advice anybody knw anything about muscle relaxers?

i was on soma before i found out i was pregnant they had to switch me bc somas can cause problems.
Flexeril just makes you really sleepy!

A blunt but caring question---do you really need muscle relaxers? I didn't know if this is a new or old problem/bottle. Tell us about what's going on w/your muscles. Is it due to withdrawal, or something else like a previously existing condition? Can you tell us what the medicine is? Some muscle relaxers are highly addictive; some, not so much.
sure your not taking anything else. Some muscle relaxers show up as benzo's too. It's something your taking or the test is wrong? what do you think?

I was on 85mg since feb I was on methadone since oct 5th before that I was misusing suboxone so funny as it may be I'm now gotten off the methadone because I gained 40 pounds in a short period of time and methadone I just hated it. So 15 days ago I stopped and went to heroin up til Saturday now it's Thursday I took suboxone Sunday I felt p/w then I got a edible and got stoned n slept I've been taking muscle relaxers I'm feeling better by still tired no energy .
Just to let you know I dont take all those at once, these are medications that I been on over a span of a while, all I take now is 80 mg of Methadone, and oxycodone for breakthough pain and Valium for anxiety, pain and to help me sleep. I dont take the muscle relaxers anymore, or the ambien. And I love the doc I am with, he is amazing and listens to me and I am real with him about everything.
Anybody else had or have this problem coming off opiates. IT is killer, what to do!!!! Do You go to doc and get muscle relaxers or JUST TAKE OFF RUNNING AND RUN YOUR UPPER TORSO THRU A WALL, i am too old for this, it makes a person want to CRY!!! sorry for the rant, but please dear God in Heaven stop the pain. Now I take 2 Muscle relaxers, methadone 5 mg and ambian and hydromorphone 10mg at bed time to sleep. Wake to synthroid, and 2 adderall, 75mg ea and methadone 5 mg. Mid day I take 5mg methadone for pain. In the past years I have developed the following, weight gain, severe dry skin, cold body temp and freezing hands and feet. short of breath, (lung test shows nothing). depression and anti depression meds do nothing but put me to sleep. Joint pain and such.
The reason why I say this is because a lil over 2 years ago I got my Methadone down to 30mg and jumped with 2 other meds. It was not fun at all because of the combo it took a long time to come back around. Physically people can come back way quicker then the Mental due to the unbalancing that involves all the millions of brain wiring.
I was prescribed the Dones after I was on the other opiates. The Methadone is a bit more intense to detox out due to its long legs and it does not like to let go.
3 days ago i cut down to 5 mgs a day and was taking muscle relaxers with it and sleeping quite a bit and it didnt seem that bad. on the 4th day i decided to stop to nothing. That day was ok, i mean not great but not awful either. Nighttime came and i took the muscle relaxers and ambiem for sleep that night and i woke up in severe panick attacks. I couldnt get back to sleep nothing worked. I felt like i was dying, so i took that 5 mgs and in an hour i felt relaxed.
Oh My! 8 years? It's only been 8 months for me and I'm going insane with the pain. Where to you live? Does the weather affect your symptoms? And Lyme disease too? Have you tried meditation?
What's wrong with pain meds if they help? I've been learning that there's no magic bullet, but rather a cocktail of items specifically designed for every one of us that gets the awful diagnosis'. Is anything working for the variety of symptoms you must be experiencing?
