methadone and ibuprofen

Welcome to the forum---- I think the more important question is whether you really need the additional pain relief or or just wanting the effect of the additional Opiate. If you can withstand the pain by just taking your normal dose of Methadone, then don't take the Lortabs. t have one anymore. He dropped me once he found out I was on methadone, and I cannot seem to find a dr. w/methadone experience around here. The dr. I am seeing said I could use the methadone as a pain killer, they just need to keep a closer lookout on the monitors, as they will be putting me under. Ibuprofen 800 is ALL I plan on taking, but I was wondering what people out there, detoxing off of methadone, did. Did you have to put off your surgery until you detoxed, or like the dr.

Hi over opiates gave some great advice! Another option you can try is ibuprofen. I take prescription strength (800mg) and it works like a charm! OTC ibuprofen is 200mg,,,so I take 4. I get terrible PMS as well but the lortabs will make it doubled 1000 times. They are a depressant. Coming off methadone is a huge step! You should be very proud of yourself.

I was just looking on the web for this info as I am on methadone and I know for a fact that's safe but now I realize that Ibuprofen and Tylenol are off limits unless you only take as recommended. Not my type of drug if you have to watch and regulate. Im on Peginterfon alfa 2a, Copegus Ribavirin 1000mg, and Victrelis Boceprevir 600mg. I also was put on Polamidon, which is a type of methadone. My question is, I didnt make it today to get my methadone dose and am not feeling good, is it alright to take 2 watson 853 vicodins today till i get my new dose tomarrow?? Would deeply apreciate an answer.

I tried that not long ago but was unable to tolerate the ibuprofen and NSAID drugs due to a hiatal hernia, reflux, and stomach bleeding I am trying the Mobic for pain while withdrawing from the methadone which is a ibuprofen drug, once again the Dr. didn't listen to me or read my medical history of having blood clots in my legs and that I have Hep C.

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

hey james, i as on and off methadone for 15 years, in 2004 i kicked for the final time, i was getting 2 weeks take home, 200mgs 14 bottles,i was averaging 300 to 400mgs a day, my detoxed was a bit complicated the last time, in the past i could go cold turkey off methadone with about 3 weeks discomfort, and i always got back on drugs because i refused 12 step meetings, now in 2004, i had serious liver problems and my bodied had become atrophied, i was rushed to icu i believe it was my second week

A blood pressure med has helped me a lot with anxiety/aggitation. I also am taking ibuprofen every 4 hours for aches. I have a new doc & she has put me on methadone, neurontin, robaxin and ibuprofen for pain. It has been three days and I am still in pain. I will call her Mon. to tell her. Hi I have a massive period ache , therefore I took 1100 mg of ibuprofen . At first I had taken 500 mg tablet but it's been an hour and a half and it did not help , so I took an other tablet of ibuprofen of 600 mg . The pain is gone but I feel very tired , can I be harmed or die out of it ? Should I ask for help ? Or has anybody been familiar with it ? I took tylenol this morning. I took Ibuprofen an hour ago . I coudnnt take it anymore. It was a one time thing and i feel so much better. Will my baby be okay?

whenever i take even one 550mg (naproxen) ibuprofen and then drink, my stomach gets tender and bloated and i feel bad. i usually take a maalox or something like that, yet i never throw up from it so i don't know if that's applicable for you. i think it is due to the ibuprofen, but if you're not used to eating spicy foods then it could have disagreed with you, not necessarily meaning food poisoning. you should never drink and take NSAIDs at the same time.

Ibuprofen is bad for our livers. Try getting a massage if you can. Bromelian, a natural supplement made from pineapples helps reduce swelling but it takes time to work. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and getting some exercise. Try some yoga too. Pot brownies worked the best for my back pain.

I have a infected broke off wisdom tooth during my last pregnancy my face swelled up and I was out of Tylenol so I took a 800 mg ibuprofen. Bad call for me but I was in pain and it was only once and everything turned out fine with baby so I was lucky.

Killer headaches, and never any Tylenol around. Ibuprofen can't be that bad huh? Got to go to work and this headache must go.

Ibuprofen is never allowed.. Tylenol is only option and now that im in third trimester the pharmacy told me that doctors dont even want us taking that.
