hi all. i have a family member, or should i say members who are taking methadone daily. one of which is 19 years old and has been on it for almost a year or more (her sister n law signed for her to get into the clinic because she was under age, isnt that illegal? her parents are alive so her sister n law shouldnt have been able to do that) anyways, she gave birth to a little girl in june.
I am currently on Zomorph from Methadone, I used to self medicate my anxiety and stress with Heroin and about 3 months ago I stopped the methadone and heron completely, no more using on top of the methadone. I was on 90ml of methadone, and now I am on 600mg of zomorph.
I used to inject, but I have never shared with anyone or used around anyone else.
Standing around talking to someone I felt something brush my leg and, low and behold there was a small prick mark there.
I'm new to this forum but I need help and advice Please Please Please.

Hi and welcome to the forum....well I was on methadone for 6 1//2yrs and also have bipolar disorder so taking antidepressants was a fact of life for me...I had good luck with celexa will taking methadone...very little side effects mixing the 2 together but all antidepressant are not the same...I agree with mr lucky on asking your dr he/she
should at least know your on the methadone...
I have been on methadone for 5 months now and my life has taken a 180. I do not ever want to be like I was 5 months ago. I work and I am a great mother again and I am dependable and proud of myself. I dont cry everynight wishing God would just take me I am praying Thank you to God every day all day. I recomend it totaly.
I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. Does anybody know if this is a bad mix. I was taking 10-15 10mg vicodin a day. I know it has to be tearing up my liver. Does anyone else have a problem like this?
I have already caught him once mixing klonopin and his methadone. But I am still very suspicious that he has do so over the week end at his parents house. I was just wondering if you could advise me as to what signs to watch for if I don't catch him right away. Like what the normal side effects within a day or two after that I would be looking for.
Welcome to the forum---- I think the more important question is whether you really need the additional pain relief or or just wanting the effect of the additional Opiate. If you can withstand the pain by just taking your normal dose of Methadone, then don't take the Lortabs. As with heroin and all other opiates, methadone tolerance and methadone dependence usually develop with repeated doses. Tolerance to Methadone administered in a pain-control program usually occurs during the first few weeks of use; whereas respiratory depression, sedation, and nausea can be seen immediately.
I have have been on methadone & zanax for 7yrs 40mg methadone & 31/2 mg zanax and slowly tappering off the methadone 5mg a week to reach 30mg to get on bupenorphen for 1to2 months so i can get off methadone because of longer w/d so i have heard i would appriciate any info thanks
Taking methadone and Vicodin together or taking methadone and heroin together is not "fine". Not sure where you got that information or why you're asking?
i just took subutex because i have been coming off methadone, recently on 8mg , just took subutex am i goin g to go into instant withdrawael
I do have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, My Rheumatologist is hard to get in to see quickly but I am wondering if savella she gave me could cause serotonin syndrome? All I take is is lisinopril savella and the methadone. Could methadone contribute to serotonin with the milnacipran? the savella seems to be helping my fibro. I have also came down 60 mg on the methadone in the last year.
The doc said that she makes the decision of whether or not he is good candidate My question is many people at methadone clinics have hep c and continue their methadone treatment saying that it helps. Is this proven medical fact??
Will dr write for meds like methadone to help a patient going through hepatitis C treatment or is this for the Methadone clinics only that you go to and pay?
I would like to know how long it takes for methadone,morphine,and oxy's to expel from your system especially methadone. Need to have a clean drug test.
For all intents and purposes, (as a maintenence drug)suboxone functions much the same as methadone, but it isnt monitered as strictly and doesnt require daily dispensing from a busy (and seedy) clinic. Its also very good short term as an opioid detox aide provided it is used for a very short period (2-3 weeks). I actually used suboxone to detox of an 11 and a half year methadone addiction. It worked great!
My friend has been on clonipins for 10 yrs and was going to a methadone clinic about 3 yrs ago and both we're legal and her Dr. knew so I'm not 100% sure if it's ok, but I do know she was taking both by presciption...You could also try contacting a pharmacy and they may know or call poison control and ask them they may only tell you if you've already taken it.
NO NO NO Don't go the methodone route please.You will get addicted and find yourself in a much worse situation trying to get off the methodone.There are much better alternatives.
Hey girl I've been on methadone for 5 years. It slows down your metabolism and your digestive track. Also, most people who take methadone have cravings for sugary foods and/or chocolates. The first year I gained maybe 10 pounds and also had a baby while on it. The next year 10 or 15. Basiclly I was pregnant 5'7" and 137lbs in 2005. Now I am around 170. Most of it is in my gut. All the time people are asking if I am pregnant. Another side effect is no sex drive.
