I was concerned i might have high blood pressure, i have minor tinnitus that comes and goes, and my ENT and family doc thought it might be allergy related. But i read that it could be a sign of high blood pressure. Ive never been told i had high blood pressure in the past. Today i was feeling a little stressed at work, i know you cant feel blood pressure, but it felt high. So i left work, and had my wife check it at her office, and i got two readings of 135/90 and 141/93.

My brither had been addicted to Oxycontin for many years and has extremely high blood pressure. He has been going to the methadone clinic now for about a year and is on 25mg blood pressure meds. He has recently started chewing up morphine patches as well. He always has one in his mouth and is not functioning properly at work. He is right out of it all the time,,,he has withdrawn from all activities he just sits at home and watches tv...don't think he sleeps much.

I have been on the methadone for 15 years, so afraid of the withdrawals. I have high blood pressure which I treat with lisinopril. So methadone and lisinopril was all I was taking before the savella. the savella has not caused any problems so far but I am just still on the 12.5 mg twice a day.The doc wants me to work up to the 25 twice a day. She is my rheumatologists and yes she knows about my methadone use. I have been coming down slowly on the methadone in the last year from 160 to 110 now.

After he died, my blood pressure stayed as high, and i fought taking blood pressure medicine for yrs, until it reached 190/100 or so on a routine dr. visit. I still thought it could be from constant pain, but gave in the next month when it stayed pretty high. Have been on blood pressure meds for about 3= yrs. Have heart disease in the family, my dad very early, he has since died.

Hey gnarly_1....Did you have high blood pressure too? My blood pressure is still pretty low so not sure I should take something like lopressor. But definitely talking to doctor tomorrow re HR. Thank you again everyone. You all rock!

m for bi-polar disorder,high blood pressure,high cholesterol, thyroid,water pills, 2 different kinds of pains and they are cymbalta,methadone anyway i came up dirty on a drug test the Dr.gave me and he said just for that he was going to take my methadone away, My question is can he take my other meds away also?

About 15 days ago I stopped both of them Cold Turkey and now feel really bad. I have taken my blood pressure and it is 200/101 and pulse rate is 163. Also, I am not sleeping at all at night and my legs are very shaky and almost numb feeling. Is this normal? If not, what do I need to do?

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

elevated blood pressure is a concern when detoxing.therefore since you already have high blood pressure the doctor might increase your corgard or prescribe another during your detox.

My father has high blood pressure and cholestro despite being an exercise-addict, healthy weight and not particularly old. I'll probably be the same. Some people are just unlucky. I'm not 100% on this, but if you want to take co-codamol having high blood pressure is not listed as being contraindictive...so coedine being an opiate obviously isn't an issue there.

i told him i already have low blood pressure and he still gave it to me and didn,t even check my blood pressur ....

He said because of the w/d my blood pressure was dangerously high and can put extra pressure on the AVM. He put me on blood pressure meds and a loe dose of vicodin to stop w/d's until we get the MRI results in next week. He said then we could discuss an "appropriate" way to get off the narcotics so he could monitor me. Basically, a long term taper. He also reminded me that I have severe migraines from the AVM. Thanks doc... I remember.

I finally realised I was in trouble! I tried many times c/t, and failed. I also have high blood pressure so c/t wasnt safe for me either as my b/p went up PAST stroke level during w/d's. So anyways I have started methadone treatment back in April and have been clean and even craving free sense then. At first I was still having cravings but they adjust your dose until you are comfortable and have no w/d symptoms or cravings.

I never heard this either and doubt it has any merit. Methadone, caffine and nicotine are best friends and crave each others company. These 3 used to be how I started my mornings for many years but unfortunatly for me and most other methadonians, There are other get high drugs involved as well.

i took my methadone today take home. and took my blood pressure meds. it happen about 2hrs. after i dosed and took my bp meds. i figure maybe you might know. i cant get any answers from my doc. the methadone clinic has it in for me for calling them to much. they warn me to stop calling. they said im bothering them to much. and my cons. told me the same thing. so i cant find out anything from that clinic. i have to watch it there or else they will fast detox me . then im screwed.

5 years ago and im wayyyy more tierd , havent taken any additional meds like blood pressure though, i am in a constant state of mild withdrawl from except for about 12 hours after i take my dose then i slowly go back all over again i have no energy to even go to the washroom , im pregnant now so processing methadone quicker now then before so its still same time frame just more severe i havent gone d

You are only the 2nd person who has mentioned the high blood pressure while ON the opiates. My ah never had high bp. He mentioned that the pain management dr said it was slightly elevated. Last time at our family dr it was 120/100. I just know it is related to the opiates.

if your blood pressure is too high it restricts the blood vessels and can stop baby from getting enough blood and oxygen. if it gets extremely high it can cause seizures. are you seeing spots or having blurred vision? I agree with bjbbeauchamp, try nor to stress! and if it goes up any more then go to L&D! its better to be safe than sorry! I have had HORRIBLE swelling in my legs for months now, but no protein in my urine until the other week.

I am 35 years old and never thought I had HIgh Blood pressure until recently. As I am into my higher studies, when visiting the doctor for a fall, they told me I had high pressure readings of 160/110. My pulse was also high, ( I was diagnosed with tachycardia some years ago which was again put down to stress.) They put it down to anxiety and stress, and gave me atenenol 25 mg. Since then I have developed a fear, and my pulse raises whenever the doctor checks my pressure, and my pressure is high.

2wks tomorrow since surgery and still have tingle in feet and hands,and blood pressure still not going down,was 146/97 today. I just dont understand to be like 97/72 up till i fall asleep for surgery and to wake up this high,and stay that way. Dr says he dont know what to do next,what it could be. 4 years ago after the birth of my child I was on 4 different medications. Today none, and my blood pressure is 100/60. All the ideas mammo gave you on exercise, low salt diet and more is what helped me get off medications and get my BP back on track. It isnt good to walk around with uncontrolled blood pressure so for sure get in as soon as you can and get things sorted around with your doctor.

I have had high blood pressure my whole pregnancy, often as high as 170s/100. I was put on meds and told modified bed rest last week at 35w5d. Ihave not had to do urone collection as when it spikes they make me come back the following 2days for checks and urine samples. If it os still high this week at my 36w5d appt while on the meds i think they will probably put me on full bed rest until i deliver.
