methadone and darvocet

What is the danger or addiction potential problem with using Darvocet for pain relieve? And is getting off these things going to create bad WD's?? Any advice on this and some solutions for a plan? I have been on Vic's and Perc's before and got off those before, am I looking at the same WD's with these? I take 5-6 per day, please advice; thank YOU!!

I would think it would depend on how high the dose u were taking was? Im think methadone would be harder than darvocet. I took methadone to get off norco I had no problems at all getting off but I was on a low dose and tapered it every week for a month. After that was over my dr gave me a scrip for ultram 200 cr I heard all the horror stories but I thought how bad could 1 pill a day be??

In any case, Lortabs, Darvocet, and Tramadol are all opioids and should be addressed by the methadone counselor. Not sure why the counselor wouldn't be interested in knowing this... Flexiril interacts with opioids but I don't know in what way. Not sure if it has a synergistic effect or not.

You are on darvocet, soma, and zanaflex? Did your doctor really prescribe all those together? No wonder you have shortness of breath. That mixture can be a death sentence from what I understand...

But I realize I have made it to this point and there is no need fall off and start over and go thru again!! Anybody getting off Darvocet?

It has helped me immensely, and I would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. Your NOT losing your mind. You will be okay. Set your mind to get off the Darvocet, and when you do...you will feel like a huge weight has been lifted off your back. You will be amazed how powerful your mind can be... Yes, that amount can kill you. 30 darvocet per day @ 500mgs of Acetaminophen per tablet is a MONSTER LIVER BOMB. The daily allowance is 4000mgs per day and that is pushing it to the daily limit!! Prior to my back surgery, back when I was in high school, I was on Darvocet (and then Darvon), and was prescribed a total of about 800mg per day. Since those days, I've been variously addicted to oxycodone, heroin, and methadone. Of all of these, Darvocet is by far the mildest in terms of withdrawal symptoms, particularly at the dosage you're talking about.

main fear if u r doing more than 6-8 a day, is frying ur liver I will be honest/and i want other mebers to share..this is a first for hearing a darvocet user resort to sub/and i have been here close to 2 yrs...u r switching to another narcotic that is at least 20/actually more/ x stronger than the one u r on..darvocet is barely even recognized as a narcotic///tis but barely/can u do some education on what u r getting urself into?

The standard 5 panel tests looks for codeine metabolites. Hydro turns into codeine, as does darvocet and or course codeine. But, Oxy is a different animal. That's why there's a special test for Oxy. There's also a special Methadone test. The only advice I can give is to request a confirmation screen where the urine is sent off for analysis instead of the standard test strips. Also, you can request a blood test and offer to pay for it yourself if necessary.

Here I am again, but with a different drug. Will I started taking these things because they were less potent and less convicting than perc's or vic's. But as usual it has got out of hand again... So anyone been there with this drug, and could you share any advice with your plan of action that worked for you. I will use the Thomas recipe which has always helped, but if anyone can help, I would be grateful. Thanks.

s wont be too severe, you could even possibly get by with maybe just a couple valium and some vitamins and eating good food and drinking lots of water but i guess you could be way sensitive to wd's so for darvocet....honestly darvocet (propoxyphene)is a very mild synthetic opioid, its only 10x as potent as aspirin! thats weak as hell, during wd's tho it can help reduce them a little...

Hi all, I'm new here and I have some questions about Darvocet. I've been taking D for about three months for back pain. The back pain is gone now and I want to stop taking the D. On average I take 4 Darvocet N 100's a day at the dosage of two tablets twice a day. I would like to get off of this medication but have noticed that every time I try to stop taking it, that my body begins to ache and I begin to feel ill.

I was on Darvocet for 2 yrs & then my dr switched me to methadone once I found out I was pregnant. I was on this meds for chronic pain issues related to gastric bypass (everytime I eat I get very sick). B4 the methadone, I was constantly in & out of the hospital with several surgeries even with the darvocet.

t do the Suboxone thing now-- not from this low of a dose of methadone. Suboxone is about as potent as 40 mg of methadone, and you are well below that tolerance level. Just kick it out-- you are almost there.

So what is funny about this is during the second week after surgery i stopped Darvocet completely! went almost two whole weeks! Why? Well i had percocets and lortab...wow a new high! BUT...they didn't cut it for me, why?? Okay i had horrid nightmares, cholesterophobic symptoms, chills, cramps...you name it and I could not figure out why. Then it hit me here i thought my desire for darvocet was gone for good..

I'm trying to ween myself off of Hydrocodone......also I can't get a refill yet....so I'm using my brother's Darvocet that he isn't using anymore....I have migraines and neck/back pain.....but I also know that I am hooked on pain killers...but taking 2 Darvocet seems to make me feel just as good as taking a vicodin and I thought that it wouldn't work as well. I have severe scoliosis, deteriorating disks and bone spurs in my neck. With Darvocet being withdrawn from the market, my doctor put me on Tramadol, 2 x day. Today is my first day on the new meds, I feel rather out of sorts but not too bad yet. Can't tell yet whether it's helping pain or not, since I always hurt. Has anyone else switched to Tramadol? With the Darvocet dose I've been on, can I expect severe withdrawal symptoms? Thanks for your input.

I am craving like Crazy but I am thinking about Heath Ledger, I was taking percocets, vicoprofen, darvocet, methadone, loretab once or twice, But I started out with darvocet. Last week I was taking 10 to 12 10mg/325 a day. Just to make it thrrough, not even getting high off of them. My husband was in Iraq and I started poppin pills kinda bad to get energy to do my house work, you know fight off depression because of his absence.

not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...
