I wake up in the morning and my patches are scratched off(even withTagederm) and there is blood on my sheets. My Dr. suggested spraying Benadryl but there has been no difference. I am having a hard time getting below the 37 mcg but more importantly, is there anything I can do for the itching? Also, he is thinking of trying Morphine or Methadone because he says they are easier to wean off of. Any thoughts? At this point, it feels like the pain is gone and I just want to be done with this.
I recently was changed from hydrocodone to methadone and by the second day i started to develop a body rash, a really fine very itchy rash, starting on the trunk of my body and has now moved to include my hips and legs. I had taken methadone before and never had any reactions. I don't seem to find much on the net about meth and rashes, so I am wondering if the level of hydro is still up there enough to possibly be the mix causing this rash.
I have been in methadone treatment for about 3 yaers now, and recently transferred to a new clinic. I have been taking benedrlyl otc for years now for my allergies, and recently started taking a diuretic water pill otc. I took a drug test (we are required to take one to two a month!), and failed for benzo's! I found it odd b/c I hadn't taken any and requested it to be sent to the lab again for it to be spun tested.
( And.....it *****! I knew it would be bad, but not this bad. It's so hard to not think about how you feel. And if I try to keep myself busy, I end up in so much pain that its even worse than to start with. I've researched alot over the last week, and have tons of vitamins and have been taking clonidine. It seems to help with the symptoms...a little. But it definitely doesn't help with the insomnia...nothing has helped that. I've tried Benadryl, melatonin, and even Trazadone. So.
Really need a little help. I have been using Oxycontin for almost 2 years now and have wanted to stop soo bad. I was using between 200-300mgs.a day. Had a friend give me some methadone a while back and began to use only when I couldn't find anymore Oxy using on and off in small doses 1-2 10 mg. tablets. I finally built the strength to get off the opiates and have not used Oxy for 8 days now. Since I've never seen a doctor I know very little about methadone or how to use it.
The muscles in my bicep, tricep and forearm would tense. The arm would clench, the music would stop and POP, the arm would fly up and out, as if trying to right hook an opponent who wasn't there. Every 60 seconds for two hours -- until just before 3:45 -- I'd swing away into the dark.

Are you doing the Thomas Recipe found at the bottom right of this page? The brain chemistry heals faster when it has all the necessary nutrients. Are you doing any aftercare, AA, NA, Live Skills therapy, etc... I feel, for me, a lot of my withdrawals are mental.
Hi there I'm new to this but I've got the answer to what ya asked because I'm going through the exact same stuff. I decreased my Fentanyl patch from 100mcg to 50 the to 25mcg. After 3 years I decided I'm done and never put on another patch it's been 24 day's now. I also got off of methadone and MS contin in the last year all with the tapering approach.
For almost two years now I have had suspicions of my spouse being addicted to methadone. Four days ago, he finally admitted to me that he was taking it and wanted help. He is now on day 6 of detoxing cold turkey off of 60 mgs a day. To give a background of how it started: a little over two years ago, he fell off a roof and hurt his back. He begain taking vicodin (prescribed) for that and when he ran out of his presciption started buying them off the streets.
Is there an alternative to going to the methadone clinic. I have a very dear friend that goes there and he is having some problems. For one he isn't sleeping and as of today he might lose his job. He fell asleep on lunch break and slept over by 13 minutes so they sent him home. If he loses his job he no longer can afford to go to the clinic, and that would mean he would have a greater chance of relapsing. Is there anything he can do that would help him sleep and keep him clean?
I think the methadone withdrawals are better but the Valium and OxyContin withdrawals are horrible! Can't sleep or eat and the anxiety is crazy. Need advice for sleep, I have tried meditation, journaling, reading NA material, hypnosis cd, sleepy time tea, 150 mg trazadone 2 benedryl and a melatonin, calling others in recovery. I am on day 5 of no sleep. My record is 9 daysin a row. About days 5 or 6 my sight starts to act strange the carpet starts waving like water.
