Some patients have reported being on Methadone. a) Do you went on Methadone because you previous was on Morphine (as a painkiller) and it is easier to quit Morphine by taking Methadone? b) Has Methadone been chosen because of being a painkiller too, if so what is the result? Thank you.

But after stating methadone(90mg a day), I must say, I had huge benefit on my quality of life and only cost $25 per/week so it wasn't costing near as much. so wanting to be completely opiate free i started tapering off my dose of done by 5 to 10mg a day for the last month at my clinic, (which my Counselor told me NOT to do), but I did anyway. I felt like they were going to keep me on methadone for years!

I don't know how I lived through it but I do it one day at a time. I still have days where the detox comes back like it was in the first week. I will have 5 days or so where I sleep real good and then, wham, it all comes back. I have found so many things to be helpful over the years. one, is an ionic foot bath. I found mine on line for $280.00.

if you take them too soon, you'll wind up in precipatated withdrawals, which sound horrific, and you just have to wait them out. and because methadone has such a long half-life, you'd have to be off them for several days before starting the subs and you'd be feeling pretty miserable I would think.
