metformin xr side effects

I've been taking Metformin 2000mg XR for 3 months and am just now getting side effects like metallic taste and gastro side effects. Same pharmacy, same Sando manufacturer. Is it normal to have side effects after a few months? I never had any side effects initially.

While I was on it I lost weight my monthly cycle was regular. Some time later my symptoms re-occurred. I began taking Metformin XR (slow release) and suffered no side effects. However, my symptoms are getting worse and the medication is not helping. I am on a low fat low carb diet and get regular exercise daily. Nothing seems to work and my weight is ever increasing. It's something I need to get on top of as there is a strong history of diabetes in my family.

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

08 last test, But she put me on Metformin xr 500 for diabetes. I was wondering if anyone else takes this med along with levothyroxine and if it effects your thyroid management. I have gained 16 lbs back since January and want make sure I don't keep gaining. Ps. I work on my feet and walk about 9000 steps a day, plus have changed my diet and am counting carbs.

Why are you on metformin? Do you have pcos? I was on metformin too and don't remember having any side effects. I guess once it adjusts to your body you might feel better. Also, there are good chances of getting pregnant while taking clomid with metformin.

i have been lucky with metformin, no side effects. However, some folks have experienced feeling dizzy, light-headed, tired, or very weak; A call to your doctor may be prudent. Perhaps the dose is too high Nonetheless a call will put your mind at ease.

My doctor wants me to try a new drug called onglyza,,,brand new,,had my druggist print out some info for me, and he was most helpful,more than my doctor! though does cause some side effects,,,there is little stomach distress,,I don't know, its so hard ...I am thinking of trying a more holistic approach?? anyway, this new drug,,,235.00 a month!!!!!! I am apalled...there should be a law!

Thanks for the info. When i was at my dizziest time, my BG's were still over 220. I was also dizzy at 180 so am pretty sure it is not due to low BG's at this point. The side affects to Glimepiride also includes dizziness. I was hoping others on here may have taken this pill and had some experiences with it. Since this new change in meds is new I'm sure there are some issues I just have to deal with.

It hurts sometimes to touch, grab, interact with things. I have no other side effects besides this strange one. Seeing if anyone has experienced this and how they may have dealt with it. Medication works great, but sometimes this side effect can be too much. Maybe just a supplement I need to take?

According to my RE metformin (regular) should be taken around the same time everyday. If you are on Metformin XR (extended release) if really doesn't have a "time" frame. Since I don't really know your medical history, I would recomend you to speak to your doctor so that Metformin can give you the best results, and the results that you are working for.

Hm, so you are diagnosed as PCOS or they just started the metformin for the reason of the adrenal gland issue? I'm trying to understand. LOL I know things that affect any part of our hormonal system will result in some mood changes. Are you taking the metformin as they intended? Have they also considered clomid? You've been working with a fertility doctor--- and done all the testing and this is the only issue they see with regards to getting pregnant?

33f, DM 2, Been taking Metformin XR 500mg 2 pills x2 a day. Started phentermine after trying invonkana, and trulicity to bring my a1c down. Mid January 2017 I started the phentermine. Hi i am trying to find out if any1 else who takes effexor has had as many side effects as i have, which is basically them all including seizures and blackouts? I was on 375mg put due to the risk of another seizure have dropped down to 300mg. If they have somethig inside it is a full pill undigested. Metformin XR has been reported to come out in your poo. Check tht out also if u are on Metformin XR. Be glad these are coming out and not remaining inside. My care is currently through my Family Doctor. My last two HA1C tests were 7.2 and 7.4, and creatinine was 1.1. I am taking Metformin XR, 1 gm twice a day, total of 2 grams (four 500 mg tablets). My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
