metformin xr doses

I've been taking Metformin 2000mg XR for 3 months and am just now getting side effects like metallic taste and gastro side effects. Same pharmacy, same Sando manufacturer. Is it normal to have side effects after a few months? I never had any side effects initially.

According to my RE metformin (regular) should be taken around the same time everyday. If you are on Metformin XR (extended release) if really doesn't have a "time" frame. Since I don't really know your medical history, I would recomend you to speak to your doctor so that Metformin can give you the best results, and the results that you are working for.

08 last test, But she put me on Metformin xr 500 for diabetes. I was wondering if anyone else takes this med along with levothyroxine and if it effects your thyroid management. I have gained 16 lbs back since January and want make sure I don't keep gaining. Ps. I work on my feet and walk about 9000 steps a day, plus have changed my diet and am counting carbs.

33f, DM 2, Been taking Metformin XR 500mg 2 pills x2 a day. Started phentermine after trying invonkana, and trulicity to bring my a1c down. Mid January 2017 I started the phentermine. Hello, I started taking Metformin in late July for high testosterone and an A1c of 5.8. (Endocrinologist said I had PCOS). I gradually built up to the full 2000 mg XR week by week. I didn't have many side effects from the medication at all. (Despite knowing several friends and a family member who had awful gastro issues). However, recently, I experienced the metallic taste and am suffering bad gastro side effects 3 months afterwards.

While I was on it I lost weight my monthly cycle was regular. Some time later my symptoms re-occurred. I began taking Metformin XR (slow release) and suffered no side effects. However, my symptoms are getting worse and the medication is not helping. I am on a low fat low carb diet and get regular exercise daily. Nothing seems to work and my weight is ever increasing. It's something I need to get on top of as there is a strong history of diabetes in my family.

I have 2 questions, If I take Metformin with evening meal and thyroid in am is there still a chance for interaction?

If they have somethig inside it is a full pill undigested. Metformin XR has been reported to come out in your poo. Check tht out also if u are on Metformin XR. Be glad these are coming out and not remaining inside. I also had them just recently and I disinfected everythng and disected it, white mash potatoe substance inside, everyone says the same thing when directed. This is not a ghost pill, but if a shell only yes.

I started by monitering my diet and still I needed medication, so my doctor prescribed me with Glucophage XR 500mg, 2 pills a day taken at same time.

I think the refill might be another brand, because the number changed to (571-but it is in a script bottle...company name not shown). It says metformin (Glucophage EQ) XR on the bottle, but the other said the same thing. The pills are different shape & size, but they put a sticky on the bt. that says it is the same, but I'm calling tomorrow to ask if it is the same brand. Yuck...no-no....DOUBLE YUCK! ;o) A friend of mines takes them for diabetes & hers are round (#397).

Within the last 2 weeks I started tappering off of 75mg Effexor XR, stopped taking my birth control pills, started Metformin for insulin resistance and 150mg Wellbutrin XL. I am doing all of this because my husband and I are trying to have our first child. I suppose it would be best to add that I have taken Effexor XR on and off for the last 5 years, went up and down from 75 to 150. I have a love/hate relationship with this medication.

Effexor Xr - 225mg replaced Zoloft 200mg a few weeks ago. Thanks for the info. When i was at my dizziest time, my BG's were still over 220. I was also dizzy at 180 so am pretty sure it is not due to low BG's at this point. The side affects to Glimepiride also includes dizziness. I was hoping others on here may have taken this pill and had some experiences with it. Since this new change in meds is new I'm sure there are some issues I just have to deal with.

When I found out I stopped taking my prescribed Metformin. Just realized today that the docs want me to continue taking. I missed 3.5 days. I am 4 weeks. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I can't call them in the am. Have anyone ever missed Metformin doses in the first trimester? Are there major concerns w doing this?

hi everyone, my husband was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, he is 35 years old and has a long family history of it, his hemoglobin aic was 13.

The only thing that teachers say they say working was the Adderall XR, but it kicked in after he left in the AM and it was done by the time he got home and what I got here was a kid talking 400 mph pacing like a nervous wreck and mood swinging worse than me during PMS! Is there something that can be taken after the XR wears off like 3 pm that will work for homework focus time but not keep him up all night???

Does anyone else have an unusually high tolerance to Adderall or other stimulant medications for their AD(H)D? I am shocked at the amount of mg's it takes for me to actually get a mild benefit from Adderall. It is a prescribed amount from my Dr, I'm just shocked at the resistance I have to it, and I still don't think I'm getting much out of it. (I'm a 30 year old Woman, I'm 5'5, and 135lbs.) Has anyone else gone through this, or is also going through this???

6 mo. ago, I was diagnosed with T2 Diabetes. There's no history of it in my family. I'm 23 and have 1 child. I'm very active I run 3-5 miles a day . I do have asthma controlled, by albuteral inhalers, and Qvar steriod inhalers, aswell as taking Singulair each day. I also have Dysthymic which I take Effexor XR 150mg each day. I'm 4'10" & 98 lbs. I'm a strict Vegetarian.

Hi, Venlafaxine hydrochloride is Viepax. Viepax is the generic form of Effexor. I take 150mg Effexor at breakfast, and it releases during the day. When I was given Viepax, I did not find it as effextive as Effexor, and asked to be put back on Effexor. Feel much better now. You are taking a lot of Venlafaxine over a day, unlike some, who take a daily dose. Perhaps there was a reason for this in your case. There are XP versions, and XL versions. The difference is in the release time.

Hi, I'm in treatment for anorexia and trying Seroquel XR 50mg to help with mood and anxiety. Really scared of the weight gain I've researched associated with it and have a strong history of hypothyroidism and diabetes in the family. Can anyone help?

First of all, I think a MUCH better option for you would be a long acting benzo, like Klonopin, versus Xanax XR. While the Xanax XR is formulated to be an "extended release" form of Xanax, it is still Xanax and still carries the same tolerance issues as the regular xanax. I think Klonopin would also be a much better option for you as well due to its anticonvulsant properties, if you have a seizure disorder. Like lydia said...we can only offer suggestions....
