Avatar f tn I am very new to this type of thing, but I do find that reading pregnancy success stories from other women who have PCOS, really helps me to cope with the fact that I have fertility issues. I am on my second round of 50mg of clomid and Im also taking Metformin. Are there any women who have successfuly conceived on Clomid and how many rounds did it take?
Avatar f tn Hey I was wandering if anyone had any success stories to share using Clomid 100 mg along with estraiol and prochieve (progesterone gel)! Last month I did my first round of clomid 50 mg and no success on pg but I did ovulate on day 16 so my OBGYN upped my dosage to clomid 100 mg! Me and my husband want a baby really bad! I know I will have one in God's time! I miscarried in early 2009. we tried for a long time on our on then I decided to go to a specialist.
Avatar f tn * It sounds like you're having alot of success on Metformin. Congrats on your weight loss!
Avatar f tn I was on metformin 1500mg for 6 months which helped me lose weight (25 pounds) and I got pregnant naturally which I believe is due to metformin and the weight loss because I had been trying for almost 2 years with no success. Yes metformin is not easy to take, I have a very very hard time with it, many side effects and I even took it durring my first trimester along with my bad morning sickness (never missing a dose) now that is dedication!
5981477 tn?1396042614 Hi, If PCOS and being overweight is the problem then first thing that you need to do is to lose weight. I know this is not easy, but it is necessary in women with PCOS. Weight loss helps normalise hormone levels in PCOS. Also drugs like metformin may help. Clomid is the next step and is very good for induction of ovulation even in overweight women. Hence hope for the best and go ahead. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn There is no reason to be frightened of Metformin. It will help you lose weight faster with a little healthy eating and exercise. There are also many PCOS symptoms that it can help with. You may get sick a little in the beginning but your body will adjust.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any success stories about losing weight after being put on Synthroid? I would like to hear some encouraging words. I have gained 50 pds. and are miserable. I have not been on meds long enough to tell any difference in energy or hunger, but I am hopeing there will be some difference in the future.
Avatar f tn Since I now longer take Metformin I am having trouble losing the last 20 lbs I need to lose. Is there a connection between weight loss and taking Metformin. Has anyone else experienced this?
623922 tn?1223406991 Metformin does not really help with ovulation. Generaly it is given because of pcos. Losing weight (if overweight) will help you to ovulate. Your doctor probably gave you metformin because you have pcos. Like Lori said she didnt ovulate while taking this, she started ovulating when she lost around 40lbs. I too have lost about 42lbs (but im on birth control) so i cant tell you if i ovulate.
1512722 tn?1313697879 Hey ladies i just started Metformin today! can i get some stories of bfps using it? or just you experience on it?
Avatar f tn I felt I should, like you, try to lose weight and see what happens from there. My goal weight loss is about 80lbs. I read online that a weight loss of even as little as 10% of your current weight can some times control PCOS. How much weight did you loose? I don't have AF unless I have taken something to jump start it. I think losing weight will help it come on its own. Fingers crossed. Are the cysts painful? I don't have any pain. When AF is here I really don't have any pain either.
Avatar f tn I started metformin about five weeks ago and the first four weeks weight was coming off fairly fast and this past week I haven't lost any, so my question is has anyone or is it frequent the Met will work briefly and then the weight loss will stop. I'm also just wanting to hear how much promblems people were having befor met and how much weight came off after and what amount of time did it take? Thanks for your guys help. I'd love any advice or incouraging stories.
415867 tn?1323365503 (10) WEIGHT LOSS AND OTHER BENEFITS. Metformin may contribute to weight loss in some diabetics.(11) However, weight loss does not appear to be one of its primary benefits. Glucophage may also be of some value improving success with in vitro fertilization, lowering cholesterol, and improving energy.
5488267 tn?1368717571 m sorry for such a long message, my point is my time I feel has come to start a family and my fiance agrees so this is a planned conception but my question is about the drug Metformin my does 500mg 2x daily..is there any success stories using JUST metformin. I keep hearing about clomid and other drugs and injections used with it sometimes to help even more but I am only on Metformin and would like to know if anyone has gotten pregnant on just using the metformin?
Avatar f tn I'm on metformin at the moment I have had any success but I've read that some people have tho
Avatar f tn Yea it's awesome reading everyone's success stories and congrats everyone and the ones that r still having a hard time don't give up hope it's possible talk to Ur Dr about it and pray about it I believe in the power of prayer
Avatar f tn I find myself reading tons of posts of hopefull women to get pregnant and also lots of success stories and that makes me feel better but due to lack of info I am getting from my doctor, I'm confused. Also, he wanted me to undergo the HSG to check if I have my tubes blocked?? but then he asked me to wait a month... ANY ADVISE????
Avatar f tn I do not have PCOS, but from what you write it sounds to me like you need a new doctor! I've read many success stories about women with PCOS having healthy and happy babies. (You can search this site for "PCOS pregnancy" and probably find a lot of hits.) Were you seeing a regular gyn? You may also want to consult with a reproductive endocrinologist.
Avatar n tn I have PCOS too and I have been put on Metformin which helps with weight loss. People with PCOS have a higher insulin levels which decreases your female hormones and increases the male hormones which cause the hair growth and scattered periods. These are things that you know about but with increased insulin levels your body does not process the food correctly and tends to hold onto it which is why I gained weight! Metformin is for glucose patients and that is why it helps PCOS patients.
