Avatar f tn Why are you on metformin? Do you have pcos? I was on metformin too and don't remember having any side effects. I guess once it adjusts to your body you might feel better. Also, there are good chances of getting pregnant while taking clomid with metformin.
Avatar f tn i have been lucky with metformin, no side effects. However, some folks have experienced feeling dizzy, light-headed, tired, or very weak; A call to your doctor may be prudent. Perhaps the dose is too high Nonetheless a call will put your mind at ease.

Avatar f tn Metformim is a medication used to control or prevent the onset of diabetes and/or regulate blood sugar and this is how it helps with these potential side effects of Zyprexa but you could discuss the specifics with your psychiatrist. What you describe are potential side effects of concern from Metformim so you should inform your psychiatrist.

Avatar f tn I started Met about a week ago. I would suggest eating your evening meal and then taking the medication after that. Other than diarhea I haven't had much of any other side effects. They told me it takes about a week to get used to the medication.
Avatar f tn Hm, so you are diagnosed as PCOS or they just started the metformin for the reason of the adrenal gland issue? I'm trying to understand. LOL I know things that affect any part of our hormonal system will result in some mood changes. Are you taking the metformin as they intended? Have they also considered clomid? You've been working with a fertility doctor--- and done all the testing and this is the only issue they see with regards to getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn non fasting glucose was154 and AC1 was 6.5. He put me on metformin 250mg. Side-affects were severe headache, nausea, chest pain, stomach cramps, watery stools and insommia(34 hrs). Next he tried 1/2 pill evey other day and I have the same side affects only insommia is 20 hours and counting.
Avatar f tn i got a mild headache from the shots, but nothing bad, otherwise no side effects!! GOOD LUCK! lots of people get preggo on here with the injectables that have pcos!!
804918 tn?1238020692 This is a great question for the Pharmacist or your Doctor. If you are having side effects like these, you are wise to stop the medication but please inform your Doctor of what is going on. he will most likely prescribe something different. I do not know much about your condition so I am not qualified to give you advise regarding that. Please take care and good luck with your medication.
Avatar m tn Reducing dosage of slow release metformin resolved the side effects but at a cost to my blood sugars which at fasting sat typically around 12 against a target of 5. Slowly reintroducing the full dosage helped but from time to time the symptoms return and I have to restart the process. It's a fine balancing act and routines play a part.
Teacher NO side-effects from Metformin - Lucky you!
393893 tn?1283551230 All of your advice is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I took it upon myself to stop taking Metformin. My side effects were increasingly getting worse, I even started losing hair. I decided to listen to my body. We have a meeting with our re on June 2nd. Maybe they can put me on something else. I was still only taking one pill I can't imagine what my body would have done if I had worked up to taking 4 a day. It was very scary. Again, thanks for all the input!!!
Avatar f tn So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I heard that if Metformin causes side effects that I should get extended release Metformin and I should not have any of the side effects; stomach problems etc.... Has anyone else heard this?
