Avatar f tn I am scared about having metformin and birth control, can you suggest if this treatment is safe or an alternative natural remedy to cure this faster as we are planning to have a baby by next year ?. Also, I am having lots difficulty in losing weight. Please help.
Avatar n tn You know there are physicians of allopathic and osteopathic medicine who also deal with natural medicine on occasion. Maybe you should find an intregrative approach. Be careful doing something like this on your own. Do you eat healthy? Yogurt with acidopholus? Have you been on a lot of "homeopathic remedies" you have just tried and tried. I would avoid colon cleanses and such honestly. Especially colonic(sp?
446049 tn?1649005835 Interesting. Since you are on a generic, what about trying a different one (maybe even the one you were on before)? If that does't work, there are metformin alternatives. Unfortunately, there are those that don't tolerate Metformin. But the effect of the drug is necessary so finding an alternative is so important. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/323128 This article goes into some alternatives. There ARE options!
225237 tn?1333138999 I have been on metformin for a couple of months now. When I first started I had some of the stomach problems. For almost the past week I just haven't felt myself, I have frequent loose stools... Can this be from the metformin?? Should I be worried?? I also suffer from anxiety so it really worries me... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn I took provera to have a period and then did clomid, I was also given Metformin to help with ovulation. I had very little ovulation. I took clomid 2 more times increasing the amount and STILL no ovulation. I went to another dr thinking that my dr was not giving me what I needed. This dr said I may have PCOS, gave me the Metformin and started the provera and clomid again. This AGAIN did not work.
Avatar m tn t take codeine long term, and take Effexor, neurontin and metformin daily, w/Soma PRN as well. I can have scripts shipped here if need be, but wold prefer to avoid the hassle/expense.
Avatar m tn Hi ladies. I just finished my first month of clomid (I have PCOS and rarely ovulate on my own) and have been researching some natural fertility treatments to use alongside the clomid. I'm really trying to regulate my diet (low gluten, lots of fruits and veg, tofu, full fat dairy...), exercise, and am even considering acupuncture.
Avatar f tn Anyone try natural herbs to help regulate their cycles? I have been married 19 years and want a baby so badly. Ive tried chasteberry and black cohash with neither of them working.
475740 tn?1208262865 I really want to lose weight and I know I gotta take the Metformin but it makes me very nauseous. The diarrhea I can handle but not the nausea, so I haven't been taking it. I see an endocrinologist Wednesday. I was wondering if there's an alternative to Metformin/Glucophage without the nausea side effects. If there's not how long does it take until you get used to the side effects?
1193719 tn?1264871316 Both your T3 and T4 tests look like total T3 and T4 to me. If your lab report doesn't specifically say that these are "frees", then they're total. Unfortunately, TT3 and TT4 are considered obsolete tests and have been replaced by FT3 and FT4, which tell how much of each of these hormones is available to your cells. Your results for T3 and T4 are quite high in their ranges (T3 is actually above range).
Avatar n tn Is there any form of alternative/natural treatment for herpes other than prescription drugs? How effective is this type of treatment?I ask this because prescription drugs for herpes are so expensive and also the possible side effects from the drugs. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn I too am on Metformin and am having much of the same problems.
Avatar f tn I would like some advice on getting some type of OTC drug or natural supplement that may replace antibiotics. I have had a sinus and gum infection along w/headaches and tooth pain for 4 mos. I live in VA., and they don't sell antibiotics OTC like some sates do. In addition, I have BV and I hope that the antibiotic would help that too. Also, I'm uninsured and cannot see a physician, therefore, I cannot obtain a prescription.
7267830 tn?1391994730 I used to work with PCOS patients all the time for the past 7 years and one of the things that would always help them conceive was a proper diet, prescribed medication (in most cases you might get prescribed a medication called Metformin) if Metformin, diet and exercise doesn't seem to help you might get prescribed Clomid for inducing ovulation.
Avatar n tn I prefer to not get on the chemical merry-go-round if at all possible, which require more medications and so forth and go the naturopathic route as that has no side effects, so is there a natural regimen I can take for the problem?
Avatar n tn My husband has hepatitis c and recently diagnosed with High sugar. He is on Metformin. With the hepatitis, is it safe for him to drink bitter melon tea?
Avatar f tn That should always be your first resort, since medication will not cure you, it will only treat symptoms. As for natural remedies, they are complicated and not so easy to describe how to use them, so the best bet is to see a naturopath if you want to try that road. A book to read is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. We also don't know how old you are, and both certain medications and some natural remedies are inappropriate for people under a certain age.
