metformin insomnia

Insomnia is one of many side effects of metformin. I would talk to your doctor and let them know that you're having trouble sleeping and maybe they can switch your meds or give you a sleep aid. I suffer from insomnia naturally and its no fun. It doesn't seem so bad at first but you get to the point where you can barely function so take care of it now before it gets out of hand. Good luck!

Has anyone after starting metformin gone from irregular periods to none at all? I've been on metformin for almost a month (trying to regulate periods to get pregnant) and I'm on cd 81. Thinking of stopping it. While I am on metformin because of TTC there is no way I am pregnant cause I haven't had sex or anything close to it since December and have had multiple ultrasounds from January to March for cysts.

I have been on Metformin ( a GYN drug that induces ovulations...basically makes you extra fertile. I went on it when I was so completely stressed that I stopped ovulating for one month) and now my period is a bit late. Its usually on time and I took a test two days ago at my 7th day of missing my period and it came back negative. However, I have been researching and some will take a test one day and then a few days later it comes back positive.

Still losing hair, irregular menstrual cycle...ugh! Chronic worry...probably not helping the hair and the insomnia problem. Enod keeps lowering meds even though my Frees keep dropping lower. I had to stop taking metformin completely as soon as I got my pregnancy confirmed. I was taking it for PCOS and insulin resistance. My dr said I'll probably start taking it after delivery and after I finished breastfeeding.

My doctor told me once i find out im pregnant stop the metformin immediately...

Hi ladies. have any of you ever had to take metformin? I have been on it only a week now but my body is doing weird things and it is a bit unsettling. At first I thought what I was experiencing was normal but I was researching metformin on line and it said if you have any of these certain symptoms to get emergency medical attention right away because it can be life threatning. It named off many side effects that were normal and were not normal. I had both.

My doctor just placed me on Metformin 500mg for 7 days, and then I will take it twice a day after that. I took my first pill today, and a little while later I got a headache and felt like I had to eat something. The weakness part went away, however I still have a headache. I was wondering how everybody eles' expierence with this medication was and if this really helps.

I don't have pcos, or endometriosis or diabetes but I have been ttc for almost a year and I am trying to research some things to talk to my doctor about when I go on Friday...I brought up Clomid but my dr. didn't like that idea and my friend said that her doctor put her on metformin (she has pcos though) and if not pregnant in a couple months, she is going on clomid...Does Metformin help you get pregnant?

i am a diabetic, and have been put on metformin due to the fact of me being a diabetic as well as having pcos. i get my AF every month. I was wondering if there is a chance I could get pregnant on it.. I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now. I had stopped taking metformin for awhile because of my stomach hurting when I took it and now I am on 1000mg a day. Any advice is much appreciated. Do you think it will work or what should my next step be?

She put me on Metformin and my question's are What effect will this have on me and my body as I am not diabetic and if I take this and get pregnant what effects may this drug have on the baby?

Hi Ladies I posted a few days ago about metformin and side effects. well now I am wondering if taking metformin in the morning or night was better for you.? I took it once in the afternoon and I got really sleepy and slept for about 30 min and then got up and was fine. has anyone else have this happen tot hem? and if i took it at night does it mess with the difference to work.,sry if i just sounded crazy. but not sure how to put it. and I get little headache when i take it..is this normal?
