Avatar f tn Yes! I have the same thing. I never considered it to be linked with it- but after reading all this stuff, it woulden't suprise me. The best one to take is in liquid form, b12 plus the other b vitamins all in one. I got mine at a health food/vitamin place.
415867 tn?1323365503 I was diagnosed officially last year tried Metformin couldn't take the side effects. Tried the liquid form Riomet. If you can stomach the the taste. After researching Fertileaid for over a year, I made my first purchase this month and started it 12/22. It is suspose to be the top for regulating your cycle, balancing out your hormones, and most of all, helping women to conceive. This is my last hope, we have been TTC for 6 yrs. I will keep you posted.
Avatar n tn Perhaps liquid metformin may not make you constipated. Recently. in the past few days it came out in generic. I'd strongly consult my doctor to be on the safe side.
Avatar m tn When you chew it, teeth grind the food well and it will become semi liquid shape with saliva. We need to taste the food while chewing so more saliva will form that will surround the ground food. After the food has become semi liquid shape only, we need to swallow the food. 2.
Avatar f tn I am taking this liquid form. Plus, I am taking apple cider vinegar with warm water daily morning before food. I am taking some cinnamon extract with warm water daily evening. These things, I have been doing for a long time. Plus, skipping and yoga. But, my periods don't seem to get back. No symptoms of getting too. I am totally worried that it would end up in something else. I am nearing my 30 years now and I am still single.
Avatar n tn I have been on the pill form of Paroxetine for over 10 years now and would like to wean off slowly 2-4mgs. at a time using the liquid form. Is it safe? I read in a book on how to get off Paxil that one should not switch. What could be the cons to switching to the liquid form?
Teacher I never knew metformin had that side effect, I have no side effects from it
475740 tn?1208262865 I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005. I really want to lose weight and I know I gotta take the Metformin but it makes me very nauseous. The diarrhea I can handle but not the nausea, so I haven't been taking it. I see an endocrinologist Wednesday. I was wondering if there's an alternative to Metformin/Glucophage without the nausea side effects. If there's not how long does it take until you get used to the side effects?
193609 tn?1292180293 I have PCOS and I am taking metformin, and have not had a period in 39 days. I have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative....but I have heard that some people on metformin have boob pain once they start the meds.....does anyone else find that to be true? Will the pain go away?
Avatar n tn Your mother might want to switch to the long-acting form of Metformin, called Metformin ER, which has fewer side effects in patients. Please discuss this with her doctor.
766872 tn?1240341112 Hey did the geritol leave a nasty taste in your mouth? And I started the metformin in january I wasnt very consistant with it @ first but I have been on a roll with it now.
Avatar f tn Did anyone else get pregnant while taking me form in for fertility? If so are yu still taking them throughout the pregnancy?
Avatar f tn m not sure if maybe I have a mild form of the flu and it just so happens that I upped my Metformin dose at the same time. Since not feeling well, I have dropped a couple pounds: my appetite has gone from being increased to drastically decreased (it doesn't help that any time I eat my stomach feels worse). I also think these pounds are fairly superficial since I have also been on my period and my weight tends to spike at the beginning then fall once it's over.
Avatar n tn His fasting blood was 88, his next count after drinking the sugary liquid was 102, his next two were 69 and 61. It seems like he has hypoglycemia. He was told he has pre-diabetes and given a prescription for metformin 500 mg to take once a day for a week and to increase by a pill a day/week until he would be taking 4 pills/day within a month. Everything I have read says that this is given for high blood sugar. He is also very underweight.
Avatar n tn I took metformin for 30 days but I had severe diahrrea and had to stop taking it. I was hoping that maybe there was something else I can take.
Avatar f tn t feel them come out, they are not in my stool, but float freely and do not go down when you flush!! (which is how I realized I had them) I don't seem to have any of the obvious symptoms (i.e, stomach cramps, vomitting, headache etc) I haven't travelled anywhere or eaten anything strange. I do have diarrhea, but that is a side effect of the Metformin I take and has been for quite some time, so it's hard to tell whether or not whatever I might have is causing me diarrhea.
Avatar f tn It is caused by problems with the antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin) that helps to regulate the amount of liquid in the body. The hormone is made by the hypothamalums which is in the pituitary gland. In diabetes insipidus, there is either not enough hormome being produced, or there is enough hormone but the kidneys fail to respond.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I am a para-medical PhD student, and I used embalmed cadavers for my research. Yesterday I was dissecting blood vessels in muscle tissues. The vessels did have semi-liquid blood inside them. while dissecting I pricked my finger with the scalpel which had some blood on it. The wound wasn't bad, but still bleeding a little. I squeezed some blood out and washed my finger. I am not sure how well the cadaver is embalmed and I know it has not been screened.
Avatar n tn Some folks do well on Coumadin, others can not tolerate it. If you are afraid of Coumadin, but want something that will help thin the blood, I would suggest the herb "Ginger" this can be purchased in pill form, and it has the same blood thinning properties as aspirin WITHOUT the side effects. Since it appears your A-Fib is not constant I think I would go this route first, oh yes, also, a good, liquid fish oil would keep the blood slippery and clot free.
1408094 tn?1281909283 No your not too late, However PCOS patients should not take Clomid, due to the fact that it can acctually cause cysts. However Metformin is great for PCOS patients because it will help us use insulin in our bodies instead of causing us to form more cysts. I would recommend going to a reproductive endocrynologist (RE) and they can help you with options. Good luck and keep the faith.
Avatar n tn Correction to my comment; "For the long-acting form, metformin ER, the starting dose is metformin ER 500 mg once daily, and the maximum dosing is metformin ER 2000 mg once daily (or metformin ER 1000 mg twice daily).
1441125 tn?1284071885 What is important, though, is to make sure in addition to taking the Metformin, you lower your carb intake, lose weight if needed, and get regular exercise. Those things will help your blood sugar a lot more than cinnamon!
Avatar m tn My Mother is 92 slim 126 pounds she feels lightheaded and dizzy in the Mornings after taking her metformin but fells better as the day wears on . I believe the metformin lowers her blood sugars in the morning causing her to feel dizzy and spacy.
Avatar m tn I have a question that I have always wondered about Methadone, but never wanted to ask a Dr. LOL. I understand that it comes in pill form and liquid form. What is the difference between the prescribing of it? Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way.
Avatar n tn Well, I should say, unless you use liquid vitamins, but they are seldom all that complete and once in liquid form they are much more prone to rapid oxidation and deterioration, so I personally don't use them.
