metformin glimepiride

Thanks for the info. When i was at my dizziest time, my BG's were still over 220. I was also dizzy at 180 so am pretty sure it is not due to low BG's at this point. The side affects to Glimepiride also includes dizziness. I was hoping others on here may have taken this pill and had some experiences with it. Since this new change in meds is new I'm sure there are some issues I just have to deal with.

the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.

After this happened a couple of times I quit taking the Metformin. About a year later I was then diagnosed with T2 and am now on Glimepiride and have since began having these episodes again. They begin in the jaw area primarily the glands just below my jaws, with a sting/tingling that intensifies and radiates out all around my ears, neck throat and surface of my chest, and my upper torso goes ice cold. This takes place any where from a 30 second to a 3 minute cycle.

I have been on metformin for years, but was not controlling BG. My MD switched me to Glimeperide my BG is good but my appetite and weight have increased a lot. Any one have the same issues? Also, my vision is fluctuating from blurry to sharp during the day, I do have Myasthenia Gravis which can have vision issues too. Any comments?

He takes 2 tablets Glycomet Trio 1 (Metformin HCL Sustained Release, Glimepiride & Voglibose Tablets) - 1 before taking lunch and before taking dinner.

Thanks for answering, Just to clarify, I take high sugar foods OR I take metformin. Not both at the same time. I think metformin mostly helps with insulin resistance (and it doesnt lower the sugars since they are already normal). My sugars are OK even when I am not taking metformin. They get high from 5.5 to 8 when I eat, but they drop back to 6 or 5, 2 hours after eating. The sugar levels during the shaking and weakness episodes are 4.5 to 5.

Hey Scrappy - has your doctor suggested adding GLIMEPIRIDE to your Metformin? I am type 2, have been for 10 years - also only have 1/2 a Pancreas, as I had to have the other half removed due to a tumor in the head of my Pancreas - 8 hour surgery, and 8 days in the hospital, which is where the Insulin shots started. Initially, I came home from the hospital on both types of Insulin.

Clonidine, Glimepiride, Byetta, Metformin, Amlodipine, Crestor, and Losartan HCT. Is it possible that it could be these meds? Please help!! I'm working by tail off and still have a GUT. Thank you in advance.

Hi Doctor, My wife has consulted the doctor as advised by you and he has prescribed Cetapin 1000 mg 1-0-1 (metformin) along with Glimy-4(Glimepiride)1-0-0-. Hope this is OK.

Anyway, he prescribed me a monitor to test at home, as well as put me on Metformin and Glimeperide. He actually gave me the monitor a month before putting me on the meds.

Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180º. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.

How are you doing with monitoring your diet? Do you get regular exercise and drink plenty of water? Sometimes the medications that are helpful and keep things under control for a while, stop working or just need adjusted.

I currently take glimepiride 4mg twice daily and actos 15mg once daily. What is the sucess of these two meds. I continue to have high blood sugar levels.

He has put me on Carvedilol 25mg 2x a day, Nifedipine (Procardia XL) 60mg 1x day, Glimepiride 4mg 1x day, and continued me on Phenytoin EX 300mg @ night (had 3 seizures in 20yrs -age 24, 34, & 46)& Ecotrin 325mg 1 @ night. Have major problems with diaherra, and diverticular disease. Hospitalized in May of '07 w/preferations starting - there for 3 days, back in ER 1 wk, no insurance - kept me on antibotics for about 2 months. Alegeric to pencillin, tetracycline, & opiates.

t pain while urinating, its fine but a slight burning sensaton on foreskin.I am taking some tablets prescribed by my doctor containing (glimepiride USP,pioglitazone hydrochloride,metformin hydrochloride). Is it ok to take these tablets? does this contain sugar?

I had to stop taking metformin completely as soon as I got my pregnancy confirmed. I was taking it for PCOS and insulin resistance. My dr said I'll probably start taking it after delivery and after I finished breastfeeding.

My doctor told me once i find out im pregnant stop the metformin immediately...

Hi ladies. have any of you ever had to take metformin? I have been on it only a week now but my body is doing weird things and it is a bit unsettling. At first I thought what I was experiencing was normal but I was researching metformin on line and it said if you have any of these certain symptoms to get emergency medical attention right away because it can be life threatning. It named off many side effects that were normal and were not normal. I had both.
