Avatar f tn Metformin helps regulate insulin levels and therefore correct the hormone imbalance that might be causing the weight gain and infertility. I am not sure Metformin will help you lose weight unless you are exercising and watching your diet, but regulating your insulin will help get your body on track to losing weight more effectively.
Avatar f tn At least a month after having it removed. What you are looking for is your natural cycle and your natural hormone levels, not assisted by medical science.
1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Blood work she would check for hormonal imbalance (FSH,TSH,LH,Prolactin). The pill will help regulate your cycle but that's totally up to you.
Avatar f tn m having with my treatment. I have been diagnosed with PCOS for more then 5 years now. Originally I started on the regular Metformin but due to gastritis could not continue. While I was on it I lost weight my monthly cycle was regular. Some time later my symptoms re-occurred. I began taking Metformin XR (slow release) and suffered no side effects. However, my symptoms are getting worse and the medication is not helping. I am on a low fat low carb diet and get regular exercise daily.
Avatar f tn t worry about being confused, it is a stupid name! It would be much better to call it a hormone imbalance, or a variety of hormone imbalances. The name is left over from the old days. Metformin is a good start, but if you are not having periods regularly, you are not ovulating regularly. Your doctor is correct that you have to ovulate to conceive! It is much faster to conceive if you ovulate every month. If you were my patient, I would add Femara to your regimen to help with that.
Avatar f tn Many women who have pcos take metformin and that will help get their bodies back on track. It can help with the hormone imbalance and insulin resistance which causes the excess hair, irregular periods, high testosterone, weight gain and so on and so on. If you haven't been taking metformin, talk to your doctor about it and recommend yourself the EX (extended release) it will help with the tummy issues.
484844 tn?1253968693 One thing I realized while on it was that it had helped my recent anxiety diminish, so I am concerned with a hormone imbalance for myself (low progesterone). This may be something you may want to consider having tested, as it can cause chaos in the body! Just a thought. Hope this helps and best wishes with your recovery!!
Avatar f tn I just went on the metformin and spironolactone a couple of days ago... is it possible for this to help lower my hormone levels and be able to get pregnant? I will start 50mg of clomid once I get my next cylce. Anyone with similar experiences??? Help.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just started taking Metformin for my new diagnosed Diabetes 2 and today right around lunch time i started feeling really shaky and just overall weird. Is that the deabetes or the meds?
Avatar n tn I believe so only because I thought all of my headaches and issues were hormone related because they always got bad during my cycle and I also had cysts! My cycles were always super long and then I tried metformin which really helped. I notice that even after surgery I am having bigger headaches during cycle wish there was more definitive answers on this. Good luck!
