im 28yrs female,i was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia 3yrs ago.im on risperidone2mg and amisulpride50mg daily at night.becz of tht i have amenorrhea and high prolactin levels.im taking treatment for it with cabergoline,now im getting my periods regularly.but now im diagnosed with PCOD so im on metformin 850mg twice daily.im taking all these medications,will it effect my chances of becoming pregnant?
If I do , shuld I use a back up method or is breastfeeding really reliable as birth control wen yu follow the lactational amenorrhea method which I am ?
i am not pregnant i have had blood tests as well as home pregnancy tests.we have been trying for four months but without a period i cannot tell when i may be ovulating.could it be cysts or something serious? please help.

im 28yrs female,i was diagnosed with paranoid psychosis 3yrs ago and has been on medication RISPERIDONE 2mg and AMISULPRIDE50mg since then.i have amenorrhea and high prolactin levels im taking treatment with Cabergoline0.5mg,now im getting my menstrual cycle but diagnosed with PCOD so im on METFORMIN 850mg.how long shd i take these antipsychotics,im planning to get pregnant.i heard tht Risperidone is not save during pregnancy plz advise me?

Also not having periods after a pregnancy could be due to secondary amenorrhea or absence of periods/menstruation due to some thing. The first thing to check for is pregnancy, so take a pregnancy test and see. You could have conceived any time in the three years post pregnancy if you are ovulating. If urine test is negative, go for blood HCG estimation. If this is not the case, then other causes will have to be looked into. Stress and anxiety is a major factor.

Basically you have secondary amenorrhea or absence of periods/menstruation due to some thing. The first thing to check for is pregnancy, which any case would be ruled out for you by now. Since pregnancy is not the case, then other causes will have to be looked into. Stress and anxiety is a major factor. Thyroid problems and abnormal levels of FSH, LH, prolactin, androgen hormones or male hormones and estrogen hormones too can be the cause.
