I'm on metformin also and no drug interactions for me either. I have taken alot of different over the counter meds while on it.

Anyone know if this drug is safe to take while pregnant. If any issues about drug please post....

This question is not exactly about Diabetes, but because metformin HCL is used in Diabetes treatment, I would like to know of any of you has experience with this medicine. Can you tell me about its side effects? Recently I went for a checkup and my doctor gave me Metformin for weight loss (It suddently went up to 99 kg though I was at 85 before and was following a strict diet plan).

I am taking Metformin for PCOS, and I am not trying to get pregnat, will this drug be effective to treat my PCOS. Also how does it help with weight loss.

Metformin is the most amazing drug, it's the reason I'm pregnant. It helped me lose 20lbs and ovulate!! I ovulated on femara but didn't get pregnant thus month I took only my 1500mg of metformin. I've been on metformin since October at 1500mg and never missed a pill. If you stick to it and exercise it could get you pregnant. I just did yoga/pilates I heard it was good for fertility and only started it this cycle and got pregnant. Good luck to you!!

Metformin is a drug used to control type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. So maybe I am little confused but was this supposed to assist you in becoming pregnant. I am only asking because I have taken that drug during my first pregnancy and I am continuing to take it through this one.

my doc told me and i researched it. metformin does not only control ur insulin levels it is also a fertility med but even though it helps with fertility ur doc may give an additional fertility drug if u have had no succcess getting pregnant with metformin. u shud also keep in mind that blood test is way more fool proof than a urine test so if AF hasn't *** already a doc visit may be in store. good luck!! u can drop me a message if u have any questions, i will try to help.

Metformin is a diabetic drug that has been found to help women with PCOS regulate their hormones, therefore help them acheive pregnancy. Crazy hormones in a PCOSer cause cysts on the ovaries and can cause them to not ovulate. Metformin regulates those things so that MOST women begin to ovulate again. Metformin is not the answer for you. Depending on what you're going through, Clomid is probably the best option. Just research it and discuss it again with your doc.

The partner only needs a semen analysis when using clomid. And I highly doubt they would give it to a 17 year old. Interesting. Since you are on a generic, what about trying a different one (maybe even the one you were on before)? If that does't work, there are metformin alternatives. Unfortunately, there are those that don't tolerate Metformin.
