when the doctor said 200 was the maximum he accepted that. He does seem to be doing well, but I am worried. what chance is there of his ever getting off of it, or at least onto a lower dose?
Is your doctor an Endocrinologist, a doctor who trained and specializes on the endocrine system - diabetes, thyroid, pancreas and kidney. If not you need to see one. Most regular doctor do not have the training to deal with diabetes issues like yours, they seem to be 'pill dispensers'. In your case, upping your basal dosage instead of evaluating and finding the root cause.
The Endo should check your thyroid too.

Thank you for responding. My levels run in the mid100's and I am on the maximum dosage od glipizide and metformin. I cannot afford the insulin they want to put me on. My main concern is this may be MRSA. I have had klebsiella pnuemonae(sp?) and am worried now I have this. Hopefully it is just my diabetes. What I am really worried about is why they won't fully drain and why it was bleeding for a whole day. If they do not go away in a few days I will have to see a Dr.
I am getting ready to start my 4th and last round of clomid prior to being referred to a specialist and my doctor won't increase the dosage from 50 mg to 100 mg. On the 1st round of clomid, I ovulated, on the 2nd round of clomid, I ovulated 8 days late, and on the 3rd round of clomid, I didn't ovulate at all and had no side effects. I have been on metformin for 8 moths now and my dr just uped my dosage to 1500mg. So far it has not worked for me. I am still not ovulating. For me the symptoms were stomach aches, nuasea, head aches. They were really bad when I was getting used to the 1000mg. But once your body gets used to it the symptoms should go away, you might be left with mild cases of them. I found that my symptoms feel better if I am moving around and kepping myself busy but when I relax they get worse.
Hello, my doctor found that I have "impaired glucose tolerance". My glucose numbers in tests where above >140 after two hours. He prescribed metformin 500mg (which I have been taking for a year). This week my sugar has been around 72 two hours after eating. And I haven´t felt well. The weird thing is that my glucose numbers are very low, and I still urinate very frequently...why is this????
