Avatar f tn I am just wondering if any women have PCOS and have conceived, and how the pregnancy is going? I have been trying for 4 years with no success and I am starting to get a little depressed since I have pretty much ovulated with every month of meds.. the other thing is I can not keep track of my ovulation and periods because I am so irregular, any suggestions on how to be able to know when you ovulate without having to buy test every month.
Avatar f tn i got a regular 28cycle period when i became active attending gym everyday and a healthy diet, for a year i was always getting my period every 28 days but when i stop attending gym and ate again my period became very irregular again. 2004 i was diagnosed with PCOS, was given provera and advised to have metformin. i got menstruated but still irregular, i did'nt continue having metformin as i felt dizzyness everytime im taking it. Now that im 36 i wanted and decided to get pregnant.
Avatar n tn My friend has a bad case of pcos and shes been on Metformin, Clomid, Dexamethasone.. Is there anything else she can do or try to get prego..
Avatar f tn You should talk to your dr about getting on metformin and provera to help and than clomid to help concieve. Good luck and were all here for you have you have questions.
Avatar f tn hey how is everything? I have pcos and just took clomid and now i am 6 wks and 3 days along. i just saw the heartbeat today and everything looked good but the doc started me on prometrium 100 mg daily to help reduce m/c... i hope yours is going along good!
Avatar f tn I was seing an OB and they started me on metformin for a few months than we moved to clomid and metformin. After that wasnt working and trying for a 5 months they couldnt do anything else for me so I started to see an RE and he gave me my options we choice IVF and we are not 3 months pregnant! :) It is very possible you just need the right combination of drugs that work for you. As long as you dont give up and you try different things you will become pregnant!
Avatar f tn No I had diabetes my first pregnancy and shewas born at 32 weeks rthis one I have thyroid problem and on progesterone shots currently 23 weeks on Friday....
Avatar f tn Hello, The primary fertility problem with PCOS is the lack of ovulation. Glocophage/ metformin and fertility medicines like Clomid are often prescribed in PCOS. You can go in for IVF also. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn yes it is safe. I have pcos and had to take Clomid and metformin as well as a trigger shot to get pregnant with my second son. I took it until I was 13 weeks pregnant then was taken off of it. I have heard also by online research that it helps sustain the pregnancy as well... I would say if your doctor is telling you to keep taking it then you are safe... Have a great 9 months and dont worry!

Avatar f tn What type of exercises pcos woman can do during pregnancy?Or pcos woman should do walking only in their pregnancy time? She is taking rest .I am worried about her. Please give me answer she can start walking and exercises? If she can do exercises means what type of exercises prefarable for pcos pregnant woman?
Avatar m tn I too have PCOS and tried metformin and Clomid like RippedonScotch mentioned. The Metformin and Clomid didn't help me and I ended up with a Fertility Specialist as my obgyn could only take it so far. It would be worth talking to your OBGYN about Metformin, it helps a lot of people as does the Clomid. Your wife is very young and if you try those meds you might have great success.
1296650 tn?1314365206 Thank you ladies!!! I've been doing a lot of reading on PCOS - and I'm going to call my doctor and ask him about Metformin - because right now, i'm just i'm clomid. He wants me to try Clomid 100mg's next month. Maybe just to see if my follicles are maturing or responding to the Clomid....Not sure - but thanks so much for the advice and hope!! I so appreciate it!!!!
Avatar n tn s possible I could have had implantation bleeding and could be pregnant but only time and a test will tell! The benefits with Metformin and PCOS are worth it in my opinion.
Avatar f tn Sorry for your loss. Xx congrats on your pregnancy. I have pcos and had a baby girl last July. Pcos is highly linked to gestational diabetes so if they don't test you for that sometime around 22weeks ask for the test. I was told since I have pcos is probably have it. And I did. I kept it diet controlled by eating no more than half q handful of wholegrain carbs per day.. lots of veg and protein ..and cutting out sugar. You should ask the doc or midwife for diet advice.
1256672 tn?1308690198 ve gone through 4 IUIs with Follistim and am currently doing an IVF. I also have PCOS and a history of no periods without BCP. I have yet to have my BFP! :) My doctor told me that I would stay on Metformin until the end of the first trimester of pregnancy. It is supposed to lower the risk of miscarriage, which is pretty high in women with PCOS.
3189297 tn?1345139915 heya guys, i was diagnosed with pcos about a year ago and was already trying to conceive, ive recently been put on metformin a dosage of 1500mg a day, it has started to regulate my periods but im spotting in the middle, was wondering if anyone else is on metformin and has this problem? Also my partner thinks he has a low sperm count didn't know if there was anyone else with this problem?
1396753 tn?1280417084 I only have the hormonal inbalance which is being treated with birth control (at the moment) and Metformin. The metformin has helped me lose 62lbs (and gaining 20 back from stress) and helped reduce my symptoms. I no longer have pains throughout the month, a period every month that is not painful and lasts 3 days. If you find out EARLY that you have PCOS, it can be treated and chances of having a baby increase.
Avatar n tn I was on metformin for a yr and a half and am 34 weeks pregnant right now with a baby girl. Did have to lose weight to make it happen and take metformin but it happened. :) Don't lose hope.
Avatar n tn First my specialist tried provera snd serephine ( it didnt work) then I was sent for an hsg and my tubes are clear and everything looked good and now I am on just metformin to regulate my insulin to help me ovulate.
1843973 tn?1326131704 I have not tried to get pregnant but I also have PCOS and right now have lost 40 lbs on metformin it does mess with your stomach a bit but I have no problems if I have some sort of meat in my meal it definitely helps. My doctor is a firm believer of metformin she also has pcos and she has 4 healthy kids! Good luck!
