hi! i am 36 yrs old and always have an irregular menstruation. i got a regular 28cycle period when i became active attending gym everyday and a healthy diet, for a year i was always getting my period every 28 days but when i stop attending gym and ate again my period became very irregular again. 2004 i was diagnosed with PCOS, was given provera and advised to have metformin. i got menstruated but still irregular, i did'nt continue having metformin as i felt dizzyness everytime im taking it.

i have PCOs,,i have ovulation issues too,,
My doubt is that,if i get rid of PCOS with natural treatment, will my cycles become regular and the ovulation issues solves? Will my eggs grow properly and i get proper regular menstruation cylces?
After the marriage I have got an irregular menstrual cycle. I consulted a VOG and she asked me to have Metformin for a month along with Folic acid. Since I consume the Metformin , I have been having the periods with blood clots for 3 weeks continuously. I got scared and stopped the medicine. But the period is still there. What should I do?
It's not just a problem with menstruation and it's not "solvable". You can reduce symptoms, sometimes, by getting exercise and eating right (or losing 10% or more of your weight if you're overweight). I would highly recommend asking your doctor more about polycystic ovarian syndrome - or even researching it on the internet.
I'm 16 and was diagnosed with PCOS 8 months ago and have been on Metformin for it since. When I was 12-13 some nights when I went to bed I would hear music as I tried to sleep. No voices just the muted sound of dumbs and brass instruments. It was only at night and usually only when I had one ear to my pillow. For a while I thought it was the TV below my room, but after checking multiple nights and finding the TV off I told my parents.

so i went to the doctor october of 2011 and had her examine me because i was not getting my period and i was growing chest hair and excess hair other places on my body. she said i might have polysistic ovary syndrome but she just said to loose weight then come back and talk to her but im really worried that if i have it then i will get disqualified from joining the military.
Hi, I'm 31 years old been trying to have my second baby but my menstruation was irregular for the last 4 mos. I've visited my OB GYN and she gave me duphastone,Metformin and Clomid. I've finished taking the Duphastone and Clomid and had my mens last week after months of waiting. Now, I just had another ultrasound and the findings were this.
1. Uterus - Normal in size. Myometrium shows a tiny sub-serosal fibroid of 6mm. Endometrium thickness is 3.8mm

I did go off the metformin after my cycles were regular as I felt that with exercise and eating better, i was keeping my insulin levels in line enough to make my hormones act like they were supposed to in the first place. lol My biggest issue is that I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism so losing weight, like suggested for women with pcos, was VERY hard.
It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Try losing weight as it helps a lot to normalize menstruation. Try conceiving between 8-21 days of your cycle as it is fertile period. You may also try a pelvic laparoscopy to treat anovualtion if you don`t ovulate.

I too have PCOS and my doc just put me on Metformin to help me Ov I was on clomid for 6 months and only Ov once the whole time now he took me off the clomid and just put me on Metformin and told me that it will help with my Ov I am not insulin resistance but he says it will help me to Ov. I am not over weight and I am over all healthy thank god. I hope it helps you and I both to Ov.
Yes Metformin can cause weight loss, I lost about 25 needed lbs real quick with a low carb, nothing white diet. I have tried not very successfully before metformin and did not lose the weight. My weight loss has slowed down since I got over the intial scare of being diagnosed with type 11 diabetes. and learn more of what I can eat and what I should not. My best to you mom...
