Also, as long as one follows the guidelines for pap smears (every 3 years for paps or every 5 years for co-testing of pap and HPV), any abnormal cervical changes (dysplasia) can be caught plenty early. Abnormal cervical cells take many years to progress to cancer.

Due to irregular menstraul cycles i have been placed on b.c.p. and metformin to regulate. Once regulated there should be other measures taken right? Am i not mentioning the correct words to further the process? All my friends kids are graduating elementary and i feel a certain type of way. I feel as though i have nothing to look forward to. I come home to my cat...weird! I am waiting for a miracle to happen but it seems as though i will never get that. I feel cursed. Any suggestions?

Synthroid needs to be taken first thing in the morning, with a cup of water, 30-60 minutes before eating/drinking anything else. I take my thyroid medications first thing when I get up, then get ready for the day and by the time that's done, at least 30 minutes has gone by and I can go ahead and take the rest of my meds, have coffee and either eat breakfast, if I'm going to or leave for my morning walk.

My mom just turned 50 this year. She was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes two years ago and was 168 pounds at 5"5'. Her doctor put her on Metformin, and she is supposed to be on it for life. Her doctor told her that she would lose weight on it, and the lowest she's been so far is 143 pounds when she weighed herself within the past couple of days. She was at the doctor in December because she had laryngitis and she was weighed at 150 and he was glad about the weight loss.
After initial diagnosis I was able to control this very well, and I was started on Metformin and Victoza - I brought my A1C down to a 7 from a 10. In the last 6 months my blood sugar numbers have gone up suddenly to A1C 8.8 despite no change to medication etc, and over the last 6 weeks I have had unusual lower leg swelling. Also, now my "liver enzymes & function are at 86." Of course the nurse didn't specify which, but they sent me for an upper quadrant ultrasound.
