I started taking metformin for my pcos about 3 weeks ago. I am also noticing pains and tingling every now and then in my breast. It occurs more often on one side but sometimes on the other too. In general my breast seem to be getting fuller. When I physically examine them they feel like there is more in them. A friend of mine who is a peditrician said it was probably the metformin waking up my body and ovaries an such. She said taking metformin was like going to they gym.
I've been on Metformin for just over a month now. First two weeks were he'll, so much nausea I wanted to cry. But now I'm happy to say I don't even know in taking them =) I'm waiting for a follow up appointment to discuss if its working, but we didn't TTC this cycle anyway. I won't know for sure until I think AF will start Sunday...bit pretty certain it's worked first cycle for me! I hear for some it could take two cycles or three though.

Hi Alex, I encourage you to visit your physician for a chest examination. Have you noticed any other abnormalties, like a lump? A topic that isn't talked about much but needs more attention is male breast cancer. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I think you need to be proactive and agressive in finding out what this is. I like MedHelp, but its limited in making an actual diagnosis - please visit your physician.
Congratulations on your eight years! I hate to be the one to say this but there is no such thing as "out of the woods" with cancer, I wish there was.
What you've done is reduced your risk for another estrogen positive breast cancer and ovarian cancer. But that doesn't mean you won't get a different type of breast cancer in the remaining breast tissue or another part of your body.
But you know as well as I do that each year we are NED with cancer is better for our odds.
I am 55 years old had recttal cancer removed 4/o8, and luckly no bag and no treatment. I have dense breast with micro calcification. Had a biopsy of right breast 2 years ago and was fine. Went for mamo and sono this past Monday and they saw microcalcification that they say is suspicious. So next friday I go to the hospital for yet anothet biopsy.
My question is, for my surgery in april for the rectal cancer I had a chest cat scan and a full body pet scan. Both came up good.
