Avatar f tn t have had any kind of withdrawal going to Percocet from Vicodin. Whatever occured was unrelated. Percocet is stronger than Vicodin. Try not to over think this. It will be what it is...it won't be the worst thing you'll go through. Just not pleasant. It's truly like having the flu...
Avatar n tn I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite. I was doing up to 20 Vs a day for chronic back and neck pain from ruptured discs. So many of us have this problem.
Avatar m tn X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.

Avatar n tn My young neighbor just had a baby by C-section (they cut large up and down vs. small and across). The doctors subsequently performed a spinal tap. She is experiencing severe headaches which I know is not unusual. However, she is experiencing leaking of spinal fluid into her system. The doctors then performed a blood patch, which was unsuccessful, and which created another hole in her back. This poor young girl is flat on her back, in pain, with a baby to take care of.

Avatar m tn I have been taking vicodin ES 750mg 90 tablets a month for the past 2 years due to my bad knees. I was recently switched over to the percocet 5/325 my body was becoming tollerant to the vicodin to the point where they were not relieving the pain anymore. I had the same reaction with the percocet where I had to take 2-3 at once.
Avatar f tn Hyslinga is extended release hydrocodone. If vicodin was an effective opiate for you previously, changing over to Hyslinga may work well for you. There are dosage adjustments made for cross tolerance when switching from one opiate to another, so there should be little to no issues regarding withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I have taken vicodin 10mg 1-2/ day for two years, with a 6 month break in between. First was for a shattered femur. I finally got off of that, and then had to have 2 back to back abdominal surgeries, and a chemo tx. The last of which I did continue to use 1-2 10mg vicodins through rehab as I tried to strengthen my body again. It was all very painful, However, I knew the time would come when I wanted to be free of all of it.
Avatar f tn s opinion of suboxone for pain control to stay off vicodin, but I have had some experience with it for withdrawal when I ran out of vicodin. I had no withdrawal symptoms at all with it, felt well enough to go about my day. When I ran out of vicodin without it I had all the withdrawal symptoms. So am glad you have it, hope you do OK.
Avatar m tn I've been taking one vicodin before a round of golf for relief of upper right-side back pain. Otherwise, the back hurts while I play and stops after completing the round. My question: is there any real concern about this use if limited to 20-24 days/month?
Avatar f tn well like i said ..heroin is an opiate...so is vicodin..lortab etc..in my opinion..heroin vs rx pain meds has a huge difference.
1182411 tn?1265321044 Hey all... Well I've made it to day 13, absolutely zero vicodin / hydrocodone... BUT... I threw my back out pretty good last night and have been having horrendous pain. I went to the chiropractor today and got an adjustment and a few hours later it was worse! (The doc warned me of that, he say's it's pretty normal for that to happen.) I finally had to break down and take some Tramadol... I took 2 at about 2:00, 2 more at 6:00, and I took 2 more at 9:30.
1866508 tn?1333984613 Hi there and welcome!! The 1st step is admitting you have a problem, and you have. And you are willing to quit, which is positive sign. What are you currently on,how long have you been on it? What are some of your issues? A lot of us suffer from chronic pain. For many that's what turned them into addicts. Personally,to minimize w/d symptoms,I think a taper plan is your best bet.Unfortunately we can't recommend one to you-that is best left to the doctors.
5621633 tn?1371088110 the only difference is that Norco has less acetaminophen than Vicodin (325mg vs 500 in Vicodin). Also, the Vicodin your mom has contains less hydrocodone than the Norco you are prescribed, and the half-life of hydrocodone is a maximum of 6 hours which means the levels of the extra Norco you took should be out of your system by the time you have your urine test, so I wouldn't worry this time about being "caught" taking extra pills this time. But I agree with silverfox67.
Avatar f tn Hello, my name is Renae, I am 27 years old and have the most beautiful daughter in the world. She is 3 years old. I have been taking vicodin es HEAVILY for about 1 1/2 years. Taking anywhere between 17 and 25 per day. I am so ashamed and so sick of the chase to get that next high and have decided to quit cold turkey. It has been ALMOST a full 72 hours and i still feel terrible.
