Avatar n tn Not really any difference. Vicoprofen has Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. Vicodin has Tylenol. Strength would be the same if they both were the same dose.
Avatar f tn avisg is our resident expert on Trams. Vicodin is also an opiate. It is Hydrocodone and addictive as all opiates are. On the addiction scale Vics are not as strong as other opiates. Why do you ask?
403399 tn?1201833095 The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.
206807 tn?1331936184 Since changing to Norco my intake has doubled and has me concerned. I know they both have same amount of hydrocodone but does Lorcet work longer because of the Acetaminophen? Does the Acetaminophen slower the disribution of hydrocodone? The Norco seems to work faster but the Lorcet seems to work longer. Any input?
Avatar f tn Hi Jujubean48, When you have been on the same Medication for such a long period of time, many times you build up a tolerance to your medications. That's what happened to me after I was on Norco (Hydrocodone) 7.5 for 7 years. After that length of time they just quit working on me! :( My PM Doctor switched me to Percocet 10/325's for my BT (Breakthrough) Meds along with giving me a Long-Acting Med and that took care of the problem. Hopefully, the Ultram will give you some relief.
Avatar f tn I take hydrocodone and can take up to six of these a day. I am concerned with becoming addicted and if using six pills a day is safe. Lately, my sister has noticed I have slurring of speech occasionally and use the wrong words in a sentence sometimes. Can hydrocodone use cause this? Thank you for any response.
Avatar n tn A former colleague of mine swears that Tramadol is more effective for her than Hydrocodone. She actually went from Hydrocodone to Tramadol. Why is it effective for her? Because we are all different and different medications work differently on each of us. Actually your physician may be making a smart move. In my opinion it's worth a try. Tramadol is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to moderately severe chronic pain in adults. It works very similarly to morphine.
Avatar n tn is 4 mg of Hydromorphone equivalent to 30 mg of hydrocodone
Avatar m tn X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.
12946799 tn?1427894912 I am having a hard time getting older, and keep trying to blame it on pain pills holding me back. I have talked to my doctor and pharmacist about living without Hydrocodone... They both explain "quality of life" w/pain meds vs no pain meds... I went for years believing that every woe I ever had, was attributed from residule effects of being busted up so badly and healing crooked.... I am now in a catagory of Fibromalgia.... It is a broad term used for too many unexplainable things.
Avatar f tn Percocet is the brand name of the generic drug oxycodone and acetaminophen and Vicodin is a brand name of the generic drug Hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Both oxycodone and Hydrocodone is a narcotic drug and are often used in combination with acetaminophen or APAP, a no steroidal anti inflammatory drug which helps in increasing their potency.
Avatar m tn Hydrocodone also comes in different formulations with more tylenol like 10/500-10/750(I think that one is still out somone correct me if I am wrong please)but it is not stronger just because it says norco all you are doing is paying more for name brand vs paying for generic kind of like paying for kelloggs brand rice krispies vs store brand crisp rice.
Avatar n tn Norco is better than most because it only has 325 of Tylenol Vs. 500 or 650. To my knowledge hydrocodone which is the narcotic agent in Norco (I take it too) does not come in a tablet all on it's own. In order to get rid of the Tylenol you have to move up to the drug oxycodone which is in drugs like Percocet they make oxycodone tabs without Tylenol. Question is why are you so worried about your liver? Is your liver already compromised?
Avatar m tn One has 5 mg hydrocodone, the other 7.5 mg hydrocodone..so he basically put you on a lower dose.
Avatar f tn Hyslinga is extended release hydrocodone. If vicodin was an effective opiate for you previously, changing over to Hyslinga may work well for you. There are dosage adjustments made for cross tolerance when switching from one opiate to another, so there should be little to no issues regarding withdrawal.
Avatar n tn i have been on hydrocodone for about four years. i take them for severe pain in my knees. i usually take about 5 per day on average but some days the pain is worse than others and i may take as much as seven 10/500. i want so badly to go to someone to stop taking them but am afraid my dr will shun me. without the hydro i would be unable to work. i am currently taking ultram and 1/2 tab of hydrocodone 4x daily. i try not to take it at night.
5621633 tn?1371088110 Also, the Vicodin your mom has contains less hydrocodone than the Norco you are prescribed, and the half-life of hydrocodone is a maximum of 6 hours which means the levels of the extra Norco you took should be out of your system by the time you have your urine test, so I wouldn't worry this time about being "caught" taking extra pills this time. But I agree with silverfox67.
