Metadate and depression

Common Questions and Answers about Metadate and depression

ritalin

Avatar f tn They started and currently have him taking Zoloft 25mg and Metadate 10mg, they are not working. When he takes the two together whether at the same time or at separate hours he is worse off then when we started. It seems like they counter act each other. If I give him just the Zoloft, then he is fine, his anxiety is down and less violent, but climbs the walls and has to be given a benadryl to calm him down.

Avatar n tn He does ok on Metadate CD but he seems a little zombie like with no emotion and not very social when on Metadate. I believe that it is why the doctor suggested a different med. Thank you for your comment.
Avatar m tn I asked them to give my son a urine and blood test and they said that was not needed since they are taking him off the Metadate and Ritilan because I am obviously not giving it to him. So hurt and angry. Please let me know if you have any information.
Avatar n tn I am sorry you feel bad it sounds like the Meds, best to go back to the Doctor and ask about them and if they are interacting with each other.
Avatar n tn Talk to her docotor about trying another med such as Stratera (non-stimulant) or Metadate CD another type of stimulant. I have a friend with a boy who takes Metadate CD. They tried Concerta and it did not work for the school at all. He was very restless and hyper. At home he was fine at the end of the day. So, the way this boy's body metabolized the med was different and the benefit of the med was late in the afternoon. Metadate CD works better for this boy during school hours.
Avatar f tn and now we are dealing with seizures every day and the medicines are not working.so last week he had a surgery and time will tell if that is going to work. he cant learn he acts like 4 to 5 years old and not a child who will be 11 this year.and now I worry he may have a short life or have to live with family if something where to happen to me or my husband. anyone who is dealing with child who they thing may have adhd should have an egg done first.
Avatar f tn My son was on the concerta and got tics from it and when he was taken off of it, about 6 months later the tic had dissapeared completely. Check out the info on www.cbn.com and type in ADD and look for the article on curing children with ADD/ADHD. Also type in the search area L-theanine and look for the article on Feeling a little unfocused. Both are great articles and help to understand more on what other things are out their besides drugs.

Avatar f tn he is on concerta he has been on it for about 7 months now..he gets mad at his brother and sisters easly and he has a problem wetting the bed and pooping in his pants at night is this caused by the concerta?
383943 tn?1217722721 She was seen by a peditrician and was diagnosed with adhd and anxiety. Celexa is a drug often used for antidepression my question is should this make her even more hyper or will it help her focus more the longer she is on it?Any knowledge you have concerning this will greatly be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I assume that you tried Ritalin (slow release), Anderall and Metadate CD. These medicines are slow release stimulants and help more with the focus issues of ADD. Usually, the doctor gives Stratera only after trying stimulants and assuming that these do not work. Why Prozac at such a young age? Why mix medicines? If you find an ADHD medicine that works, the ODD might also be eliminated. Keep it simple with only one medicine if you can.
Avatar m tn My wife is a beautiful and sexy fifty-six years old. I was in medications for depression for almost 10 years and I got off them 32 months ago. I still take clonazepam (1mg for the day and two 1mg at night) and Metadadate (one 20mg & one 32 Mg in the morning & same at 2 Pm). I had a heart attack in late 2002. I dropped 65 pounds and see my doctor regularly. She gave me Cialis (5mg) to be taken each day and I can get an erection if my wife and I start to be intimate.
Avatar f tn t know about abilify he has also been on concerta, adderall, metadate, ritalin and focalin he had reactions to all those especially the focalin he started hallucinating so now he just takes the risperdal and he also takes tenex at night.
Avatar n tn Could she be seeking more positive attention from you, possibly play this down and focus on her positive side and praise her when she does something good.
1020229 tn?1251471842 if she has a diagnosis, the first line of meds that these specialists usually try is a stimulant such as Ritalin or Metadate CD. Get another doctor (specialist) and get her formally eveluated. If she does ADHD, ask for a stimulant such as long acting Ritalin. You also need to make sure that she has a cleas diet with no sugar, no artificial sweetner, no artificial color, no preservatives and cooked from fressh ingredients. Make sure that she gets lots and lots of sleep.
Avatar n tn You need to ask your specialist to try a different medicine and see if her mood improves. You could try Metadate CD or the Vysante and see how she does. Always try a low dosage for a few days and increase slowly.
Avatar n tn which uupon reading about seems very much like ADHD. He is bright, mechanicaly inclined and capable but is a borderline student, moody, impulsive and extraodinarilly hard to discipline. At age 9 he is now having trouble keeping friends and in gerneral not as happy as he once was. It was previously suggested that he might be best served by being on a med like ritlalin but we have been unwilling to to this. Are we hurting this child by not using meds.
744777 tn?1235089263 By the way stimulant drugs, such as Vyvanse, Ritalin and Metadate, seem to make the PDD / Autism and Anxiety symptoms worse in some children. If the Ritalin / Metadate does not work you could try Stratera, a non-stimulant type medicine. Good luck.
Avatar n tn my son is 7 years old and has adhd, after years of doing all the things we were told to do-behavior tech-counslers,theripy etc.my son have now been put on adderall 10 xr ,that had no effect so the doc said up it a little bit so now he is taking 20mgs a day xr-still no difference in his behavior.do we up the meds again.
Avatar n tn Long story short - your ex (and perhaps you) need to become very educated about ADHD, what it is and what it does. While the meds may seem like a magic pill (if they work) - they aren't. It takes a lot of effort to help the child become all that he can be. It may well take medication, but it will also take education, time, consistency, and love. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn When i began taking it again, BOOM, lesions were back and bursting with debris. So today i switched from adderall to metadate (extended release methylphenidate). I have tried every imaginable topical you can imagine without any success on the lesions. I have still not found a doctor willing to treat morgellons so I figure the least thing I can do is avoid anything that worsens the symptoms. I have found some information that backs up my suspicion that Adderall is the culprit.
Avatar f tn I have taken her to therapy and we are now trying medication (Concerta 36mg). Nothing seems to be working and the aggression is worsening. I love my baby girl and it is breaking my heart to see her so unhappy all the time. We are doing everything that is recommended in therapy (behavior charts, ect) and still no progress. She is a very friendly, outgoing & intelligent when she is behaving.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 10 and since 2 has had behaviour problems . Every one won't help adhd won't get diagnosed because she is semi settled at scool despite getting out her seat umpteen times a day. She can not interact with other kids cause her attitude stops their interest to play with her and home life is a nightmare she won't do a thing I ask and thrives on winding my other two children up ...
Avatar f tn The first medicines that he should try are medicines such as Ritalin or Metadate CD. These medicines are called stimulants and usually work better to control ADHD than Tenex. Go back to an ADHD expert doctor and try a different med, if there are no other medical reasons with your son.
Avatar m tn In the meantime, be very watchful of any cravings, mood swings, irritability, feeling superior to others, depression and/or suicidal thoughts, increase in anxiety, etc that might indicate you are heading for relapse. Watch out for other addictions that you might turn to in order to relieve your cravings (typical addictions are alcohol, sex/porn, bad relationships, cigarettes, even coffee can be problematic for some, etc).
408958 tn?1214843583 I think i can promisse u its gonna get better , 2 weeks after my first tx i was amazed over the big differens in mood thoughts and everything. Like someone else pointed out.
Avatar n tn Stratera is a non-sitmulant and it does not work as well as the stimulant drugs such as Retilin, Metadate and Anderall. You also need to catch him being good and praise him. Motivate him with positive rewards (verbal and material such as treats, going to the movies, getting to do something with you that he likes). Good luck.
