My problems began very recently, and manifest themselves through constant rectal urgency. Colonoscopy revealed rectal ulcer, and biopsy confirmed SRUS. GI believes the problem is likely caused by a partial prolapse and is trying to treat it medically with a combination of Metamucil and Canasa. My symptoms have improved some while on these meds, but this problem with a constant sour taste in my mouth has appeared.

Hello all UC Patients, I was diagnosed with UC few years back and tried every medication (ASA, Rowasa Enema, Prednisone, Immuno-Suppresants, Remicade, VSL-3, etc). I have been hospitalized four times in last two years. Finally I met a doctor in UK who prescribed Asacol Foam Enema. I was unable to get into remission for last so many years with all drugs, however, with this foam enema, I got in full remission in just few weeks.

Over the last 6 months to a year I have experienced intermittent diarrhea and rectal bleeding as well as occasional abdominal cramping. Rectal bleeding can occur without BM and will turn water red. A month ago I began to have pain again. Gastroentologist sent me to have another ct and included a rectal ct. They injected dye up my rectum 3times because it kept leaking out. Two days later I was having emergency surgery because my colon perforated. I have a colostomy bag and have to go in for a second surgery. My question is...should the doctor have ordered a rectal ct that shot fluid into my rectum when I was having an episode of diverticulitis and was on antibiotics for it?

Can pulps be detected with this B. Enema and if found how will they be removed? Will this B. Enema replace the colonoscopy in my future screenings? If no pulps were found up to the hepatic flexture, why do I need to proceed with this recommendation of the P. Enema?

In moderate flare-ups mesalamine orally w/ mesalamine suppositories. My question is - beyond the general risk that HSV presents - how additionally risky is this for me? It is a possibility that at some point I will have a flare-up that will require immonusuppressive therapy. If I was to contract HSV could my UC symptoms become more severe?

The suppository should remain inserted for one to three hours or longer, if possible. The normal course of therapy is from three to six weeks depending on symptoms and sigmoidoscopic findings". So the 30 day supply falls within the recommended duration.

I have a very similar issue. It's gone in and out since I was 18 when I started doing LSD smoking pot and drinking. I feel like I've done everything to mask/workaround this issue.
