407198 tn?1202197561 I was pinned up against 7 stories of shelves while the machine continued to run over the top of me. I am on workers comp, and was taken to ER,(8-2-2007) treated by surgeon on call, who did not want to do a surgery at that time, instead had me in a full leg cast, and told me to follow up with him, so I did. Almost 3 weeks later (8-22-07)the dr. told me the bones were not healing the way he wanted and insisted on surgery, so I ended up getting 8 screws and a metal plate in my right leg.

Avatar n tn My doctor says that if I would have had the fusion when the accident first happened I probably would be fine, but with the delays of the misdiagnosis and waiting on workers comp to approve everything I have permenant nerve damage.I am in pain management and trying to deal with the chronic pain I will live with for the rest of my life. Some people have had great success with having this surgery, but I'm sorry to say it didn't happen for me.
Avatar m tn When dealing with workers and comp and getting nowhere it is a good idea to get a lawyer. Look up the workers comp laws in your state. Also ask around others might know of a good worker comp attorney.
Avatar f tn My private insurance said they will help me but then the battle begins with workers comp
Avatar m tn please tell me that hes put you on extreme weight restrictions!!!! let me guess....workers comp????? UGH! your wc dr is paid by workers comp to release you back to work before you are ready. you will most likely need to hire an attorney, b/c its going to be one long battle. it depends on your state as to whether or not you can get a second opinion....BUT....depending on the state, a 2nd opinion is NOT a second opinion for treatment, etc...it is ONLY a 2nd opinion for ratings.
Avatar f tn i go to a psychiatrist and he is trying to get workers comp to pay for therapy but the insurance dosnt want to pay for it. she is hard to deal with. i dont like the meds they sometimes make me feel out of it and i have a new grandson(my first) that i dont get to see often b/c they live in a area i feel threatened in. i feel like i watch the world threw my kitchen window. i really dont like how the lexapro makes me feel.
Avatar m tn Workers comp. Is horrible. I used to work in construction, and have heard nothing but horror stories regarding workers compensation insurance. They make you fight for EVERYTHING regarding your care. If you have your own private health insurance, I would try and getthemto cover thing syou may need healthwise and let them fight workers comp. If that fails and you have your own insurance, I would "re-injure" myself at home.
552082 tn?1222262137 Yes I would find another doctor if he is saying things like that. Your workers comp. carrier should be able to intervene and find you the right doctor, after all they want you fixed as soon as possible. Maybe you should look into a workers comp. attorney if you are having problem with them. If you do have a attorney on your case tell them about your problem and they can do the work for you finding another doctor.
482966 tn?1211140977 My chest and lower back also feel as if bees are stinging me. I also have headaches where I never got them before. The workers comp doctor sent me home with oxycodone and back to work with no restrictions. I feel absolutely rotten. I am in constant pain, but can't get anyone to believe me. I love my job, and do not want to stay home. The pay is rotten. I just want the pain to go away, and want to find the reason for all the pain. Can someone give me some advice.
372416 tn?1242665752 He will then tell you to most likely go to a doctor of his choosing and also have a drug test done. This is required by workers comp nowadays. After seeing their doctor you can go to anyone you please, preferable a orthopedic surgeon. If you do this, your bills will be paid pending claim allowance. Treatment can be authorized thru the doctors office staff on your behalf. I used to do this in Ohio so I no what I speak of.
Avatar m tn You need this to go to workers comp sweetie sounds like a set up .
Avatar n tn So I am on the green team and this is my 3rd baby which was totally inexpected. I think this will be my 3rd boyboy but at the same time...I honestly don't know. I'm extremely anxious because I've gone a month early with my last two pregnancies...I gave my *best* friend all of my baby items for her baby last yr and now I'm put of luck. Avatar f tn I have a friend who has had numerous back surgeries following an on-the-job injury many years ago, the most recent of which was a disaster. Not only did the surgeon not fix her back (or do anything for that matter), but he left in fractured sternal wires. She is in constant pain. She had been prescribed pain medications for a long time by the Workers' Comp doctor she was assigned.
Avatar m tn Report this to the safety person at work immediately, and to HR. you may have a workman's comp claim. The longer you wait the harder it may be to prove cause and effect. I don't think you could get Hep C this way, but Hep A is possible.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry for the pain your going thru. I know what you mean with workers comp, it's a joke. They treat you like your a criminal. I was injuried on the job in 2005. I had three ruptured disks in my neck. It took workers comp almost two years to approve my cervical fusion. Thanks to them waiting so long I now have permanate nerve damage and live with chronic pain. I'll never be able to work again. Once I hired an attorney thier additudes changed.
Avatar f tn In my state, Wisconsin, you have a right to each and every medical record rather it is through workers comp or not. And I had no idea that Medicare will not pay for a pre-existing condition after a period if time. The federal government will not allow private insurance companies to have an unlimited amount of time on a pre-existing condition but it's acceptable for Medicare? That does not sound feasible to me either. And how will one pay for an attorney when they are on Medicare?
Avatar f tn To the best of my knowledge, stress can bring on attacks where MS was already present. I think it can be the first attack or any attack.

Upon seeing the Dr. now again he recommends an Epidural injection.
Avatar f tn My workers comp doctor has ordered an arthrogram for shoulder pain. I have a shelllfish allergy, is this a safe procudre for me? 10 years ago about 1-2 hours after eating at red lobster i had an asthma attack, the ER dr said it is a shellfish allergy--i haven't eaten shellfish since. the location that this procedure will be done at is 1 1/2- 2 hours away from home with nothing in between.
Avatar n tn It is much more difficult with an occupational disease situation with workers comp. than it is with a blatant accident. If you dont have a workman's comp attorney you should get one asap. I have had one from the beginning 10/08.
Avatar m tn His so-called professional opinion in my records can make it very difficult for me to claim workers comp.
