Avatar f tn Yes, you are right. You should get the stress echo done, but it doesn't sound at all like you have any heart disease. A doctor should have the final word though. My mom also have ST dep on stress tests, but no heart disease except for a mild mitral valve leaks.
Avatar n tn The fact you do not have an episode during exercise does not rule out that mental stress is causing or could cause a heart problem. Stress can constrict vessels, etc. and as a consequence reduce oxygenated blood to the heart. If you have other symptoms that could be heart related, you may want to get checkup. But if you get away from the high stress environment thtat may be all that is necessary.
Avatar m tn This is important because the left ventricle of the heart performs the greatest amount of work involved in pumping blood around the body. However, stress testing does not detect blood flow imbalances within the other three heart chambers. It is usually only high-grade stenoses (severe narrowing) of the larger coronary arteries that can be detected.
Avatar n tn I suffer from Insomonia. Cannot overcome mental stress. Cardiological Report Normal. Pressure Normal. Take tablets for controlling blood pressure.Due to lack of sleep and prolonged acitvities (not physical) feels a throat ache. Is it related to heart disease?
Avatar f tn Does having a 45% ejection fraction on the stress test means one has a heart disease? Other symptoms includes chest pain, SOB when climbing upstairs, nearly syncopal event every time SOB and tachycardia happens. Stress test showed severely tachycardic, nearly syncopal episode on exertion and 45% ejection fraction. Ecg showed Borderline left atrial abnormality and the echo, according to the readiologist, showed increased in bulk. (Which was neglected on the final report).
Avatar f tn I am a 19 year old male and lately I have been having shortness of breath, fast heart rate, and slight dizziness. I have been to the ER once was hooked up to EKG and was told that it was anxiety. I went to two different doctors (pediatricians, I currently don't have a primary care doctor) and both agreed it was anxiety. I had a CBC done and everything came back normal.
Avatar n tn please learn about heart disease and organic natural nutritional supplement than will improve your heart condition.
Avatar n tn I assume you had some kind of stress test? either stress echo or a nuclear scan? I say this because unless you match the heart motion in 2 states, relaxed vs stressed, you can't tell if it's reversible or not. So, you have 2 good words here 'mild' and 'reversible'. Mild means the heart wall is not affected much and reversible means the lack of blood flow is only occurring when the heart is under load showing there is sufficient flow at rest.

369861 tn?1306275686 I'm a newbie here on the heart disease site and not very sure what is going on. This all started with my getting sick and going to the ER thinking that I am having a heart attack. It turned out that my potassium was very low and my glucose level was low. Prior to this ER episode, my potassium level was hovering around 3.3 for about 4 months. At the ER it was 2.6! I had been on HCT 25 mgand Diovan Hct 320/25 mg for about 2-3 years. My primary doctor took me off the HCT.
Avatar f tn Today I had a mental break down....Wed found out my baby boy has a heart defect... Blame myself.. I struggled with quitting smoking throughout pregnancy due to being allergic to the gum and patches.. So had to cut back slowly.... Sunday will be 39 weeks...
Avatar f tn You cannot rule out clogged arteries without angiography, but at least you should ask for a stress test or stress echo test, as those tests may indicate coronary artery disease. You may have too low blood pressure, and it's important that you check the blood pressure now, preferably with a 24 hour monitoring. I suspect that your doctor initiated massive medication to control your serious hypertension of 200/120.
Avatar m tn If I got my heart rate to 215 without any chest pain/discomfort/shortness of breath what is the possability of me having heart disease? 2. For the past 2 weeks I have been having really achy arms and occasional chest pain, If the test comes back normal would this require further testing to totally rule out heart disease? 3. Would the doctor have called me the same or next day if he found any heart disease? Thanks for your time and your answers.
Avatar n tn t reach that level through fatigue or discomfort, they resort to an injection which stresses the heart. If you have heart disease, it suddenly feels like someone is sitting on your chest and breathing is very hard. This lasts for about 2 mins tops. They then take the patient to the scan room where they have to lay on their back, keeping still, for about 30 mins. Slowly you watch the machine go around the front of the chest as it takes images.
Avatar f tn Nerves below the head may be compressed where chronic neck and spine problems exist and can be caused by, amongst other things, muscle cramps which may be a result of clinical anxiety or excessive mental stress, bone disease, bad posture, unsafe heavy lifting practices or physical trauma such as whiplash. Another cause of paresthesia, however, may be direct damage to the nerves themselves, i.e.
Avatar n tn This is because your heart is not getting enough blood under stress. Also, if your heart disease is more of a form of cardiomyopathy such as LVH or dilation of the heart, you may feel more rhythm issues. Everyone is different so everyone feels things differently. Unfortunately a heart attack is the first symptom 50% of those with heart disease experience so it is important to have this talk with your doctor.
Avatar n tn It is also a major cause of disability. There are many different forms of heart disease. The most common cause of heart disease is narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart itself. This is called coronary artery disease and happens slowly over time. It's the major reason people have heart attacks.
