I'm a 38 year old woman and my period won't stop. The heat seems to make the clots worse. I'm passing some large clots, they seem long rather than wide but sometimes I can feel them. I bled for about 6 weeks at the end of last summer but then by periods straightened out and have been fine since then. At the end of may my period was late by a few weeks and then did not start out normal. Started out light instead of heavy and grew heavy.
i seem to have the same problem. i'm only 16 years old and my period won't stop. This past summer i had my period through the beginning of july to the middle of august. i dont know how much longer it would of lasted because my doctor put me on the pill to stop it. then they took me off and i was regular for a couple months. but i noticed every month it got longer and longer. its been 4 weeks now and i don't know what to do. the older comments said weight and age was part of it.
So, I'm 19 years old. I started my period in about June and it has only stop for about 4 to 5 days at a time but keeps returning. It is not a light flow either. I am having to change my tampon once an hour. (sorry TMI) I have gone to the doctor twice about this. The first time she ordered me to get blood work done. It came out and I'm perfectly healthy. She put me on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (The pill) to help with it. Even that hasn't stopped it.

I would like to know what I need to do for my daughter. She lost 80 pounds started from January 2009 up til now. She hasn't had her period for almost 4 to 5 months. She's slowing gaining some unsaturated fat but still want to maintain. She's now weigh about 130 pounds and she's 5'7" and her BMI is 20.0. She's in her normal weight range. Now, she's taking Blue Cohah and vitamin along with her healthy eating, she's still not starting.
I'm 17 this year and also periods won't stop. Had them for like 6 months now and been to doctors and they don't know whats wrong with me either.
Gosh, I'm really sorry to hear this. That sounds terrible. My best advice is go keep badgering the doctors. In fact, maybe a second opinion is warranted here. I'd consider that. But that is your best way to find a solution at this point. Have they checked for any cysts? Or is this directly due to the small fibroid?
Oh no! Doesnt the "first time" always show at the worst moments? I would not recommend sending her swimming without a tampon - think how horrifying any sort of leakage in front of everyone would be.
But 10 seems pretty young for a tampon, doesnt it? I would maybe call her doctor and see what he or she thinks about your daughter using some of those "slender" tampons.

since i had my baby (3 months ago) my bleeding never stopped. so i went to my dr and she gave me some pills to take so the bleeding could stop. So i took the pills as she prescribe and the bleeding stop for like a week and then i started bleeding again very heavily. Now she put me on a different medication (Norethine) but it just seems like it slowed down the bleeding and i always feel like im cramping like im about to get my period.. I have Anemia.
t mind impacting upon your fertility. You can stop a period from coming every so often eg if you have a holiday coming up or something if you take a period delay pill such as Noresthisterone. It is only available on prescription though. Your doc won't have a problem prescribing enough for one period I'd say and The Online Clinic supply me with 30 tabs when I need which is once in a blue moon anyway. They are quite efficient and a safe company for online prescribing.

It was an unplanned pregnancy with long term partner. Only using condoms. I was diagnosed last year with PCOS but that never caused issues with my period, they have always been pretty much exactly on time. I did have pain with PCOS tho.
But I shall point out that during my pregnancy, they had to do multiple scans due to bleeding and I asked the sonography if they could see any cysts on my ovaries (if that may be the cause) and she said that there was no cyst on my ovaries.
point on pregnancy was to begin the count on Day 1 of bleeding of the last menstrual period. Ovulation was hidden and unknown, but a period is a big, fat signal with a known date. All the medical books, anatomy scans, procedures, and checkpoints were written that way. Doctors were taught that way. So even though ultrasounds have come along since, the 40-week pregnancy count is still used.
Depends if ur breast feeding or not. I was breastfeeding consistantly and I didn't get my period til 3mo after my son was born. But I heeaarrd if u breastfeed u won't get ur period and then I heard if ur bby sleeps thru the night then ur period comes bk sooner even if ur breastfeeding.
