Avatar f tn My menstrual cycle varies from 28 to 38 days. My average cycle length is 33 days. I’m 32 years old.
Avatar f tn I am a 22-year-old medical student and know that normal cycle length varies between 28 to 35 days. My cycle however is around 40 days and sometimes more or less.. The question is, can that be normal? I'm a little overweight but not obese, I exercise regularly and I don't think I have any obvious signs of PCO. Any help?
Avatar f tn first three months after starting thyroid my cycle varies between 25-28 days (before was about 30). Then on month 4-5 cycle is only 19-20 days. This time (month 6) I'm at day 38 and no period in site. Preg test neg. Any ideas? I'm wondering if this long one is an anovulatory cycle because I've read some accounts of thyroid meds causing this. But then again, I've also read that treating hypothyroidism improves ovulation. So confusing! Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn For instance, I have a long and irregular cycle -- it varies from 5 to 8 weeks. Ovulation occurs 2 weeks before your period, regardless of how long your cycle is, and that is the part of the menstrual cycle which does not vary -- the time before ovulation varies widely. This means that if you have a long cycle, you cannot rely on dating from you LMP because your dates will be off.
Avatar m tn A regular cycle (although this varies quite a bit from person to person) is about 28 days, and since most calendar months are 30-31 days, you will generally have your period again before the full month is up. Some women have even shorter cycles, which makes it even more apparent. As for your initial question, yes, a woman with two periods within one calendar month can definitely still conceive.
Avatar m tn Becuase they count your pregnancy from the 1st day of your last period. So you would start counting on April 20th which was 4 weeks ago today. Becuase every womans cycle varies as to when they ovulate it's easier to have a standard practice of counting from day 1 of the cycle that you conceived during. Technically you would have conceived approximately 2 weeks ago, but for purposes of dating the pregnancy and calculating the due date you are 4 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn No. The egg falls once a month (once a menstrual month, to be exact), but it falls at different times for different women. The "typical" cycle goes like this: Day 1 -- period begins. Day 4 or 5 -- period ends. Day 14 -- ovulation (the "egg falls.") Day 28 -- last day of cycle Day 29 (new Day 1) -- new period begins. However, some women ovulate early in their cycle, and some ovulate late.
Avatar n tn Most people with regular 28-30day cycles ovulate between days 10-16, but usually day 14 for the majority. Start testing 10 days after the first day your last menstrual cycle and test the same time each day. It's better not to use the first morning sample, unlike pregnancy tests. One you see the test is positive, you'll be ovulating within 24-48 hours, so those days are your best chances to conceive.
Avatar m tn if ur menstrual cycle is 28 days and regular ,that would mean u had intercourse on day 14 of ur cycle which would be when u are ovulating so yeah theres a chance.

4032497 tn?1363221695 Hi there, Many times vaginal discharge is absolutely normal. The amount varies and also the odor and hue depending on your menstrual cycle .Other causes of white discharge are yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis. If it is yeast infection causing discharge treat it with antifungal medications which may be inserted into the vagina in cream or gel form. Bacterial vaginosis is treated with antibiotic pills or creams. Trichomoniasis is usually treated with the drug metronidazole.
Avatar f tn Ovulation, is the day when you release a egg and it depends on how long your menstrual cycles are. The average cycle for a woman is 28 days but it varies from woman to woman. The best way to chart this is to count from the first day of your period up to the next one and that's how you can see how many days your cycle is.
Avatar m tn I am not sure if I am addressing your question but in regards to a menstrual cycle it varies with each woman. If you are breastfeeding it is usually between 6 months to a year, of you are not it usually returns after 2-3 months, but some women can take a lot longer for there cycle to return. If you are worried something is wrong you should see a doctor, but I think from what you are saying everything is normal.
Avatar f tn Hello, I would like to share with you that the week before menses and week after menses are considered as safe periods. The duration of menstrual cycle varies from person to person & is usually between 26 to 31 days. Ovulation approximately takes place in the middle of the cycle, i.e. duration of the cycle - (minus) 14 days .A week before and a week after the approximate day of ovulation is considered as fertile period.
Avatar f tn The recommendation varies from Dr to Dr. My Dr told me traditionally they recommended 6 months but studies have show no coorilation between waiting and an increase in successful pregnancy. She told me there was no reason physically I needed to wait if I didn't want to, but recommended waiting till after the first menstrual cycle for dating purposes. However I personally was very off on my cycle for some time after my DNC.
Avatar f tn However, what I can tell you is that larger amounts of discharge can be nornal at certain times. For example, itd varies during your menstrual cycle. Before ovulation there is a lot of CM (discharge) produced. The things to worry about are if the discharge is a green-ish or yellow colour, is clumpy or smells, or if it's making you feel itchy. If thats the case, you should see your doctor as it could be some kind of infection, STI or even something easy and treatable like thrush.
Avatar f tn I have been having my menstrual cycle for over a month now and it's starting to smell like metal or iron. I also have this pain on my right side. It's not a heavy flow but it's messing with my lifestyle. What should I do?
Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
