Avatar m tn progesterone phase/luteal phase this is the what we all call the 2 weeks waiting (2ww) cause on day 28 (for most women) you get your period again and start your cycle again, or you test and find out you are pregnant.
Avatar f tn (Count the first day of your menstrual period as the first day of your cycle). The luteal phase is almost always exactly 14 days. It actually sounds like your cycles are pretty normal. Good luck!
20922415 tn?1661860103 A short luteal phase of less than 10 days is an indication of insufficient progesterone levels. This often results in cycle disorders and a desired pregnancy is difficult to achieve or does not occur at all. Furthermore, low progesterone levels increase the risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy. Experts, therefore, recommend that in these cases progesterone should be given to support the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn (Cycle day 1 is the first day of the menstrual period). I would then do an ultrasound on cycle day 11 or 12 to look for a developing follicle. On day 21 I would check a progesterone level to see if you did indeed ovulate and if your luteal phase was sufficient ( a good progesterone level suggests that it is.) Ovulation predictors can be very confusing, and I think that the BBTs are not a bad idea in your case.
689528 tn?1364135841 Just wondering if something could be made up for women and their menstrual cycles and women trying to conceive. A good tool would be some kind of tracker that can be added along with an Ovulation tracker or menstrual tracker or just a tracker of it's own to go along with the Lunar Cycle. It is believed by some people that our cycles are influenced by the lunar cycles.
Avatar f tn Ovulation usually takes place 14 days after the beginning of your menstrual cycle. The time of ovulation within the menstrual cycle is determined by the luteal phase, which is usually 12 to 16 days long. You can calculate the time of ovulation within your cycle by subtracting the length of your luteal phase from the length of your cycle. For example, if your cycle is 28 days long and your luteal phase is 12 days long, the ovulation will occur on day 16 of your cycle (28-12=16).
478651 tn?1208215559 I´m on my 2nd cycle of serophene and have no idea how long my menstrual cycle is.On my first cycle (50) I did not ovulate. Doctor then doubled the dose (100) on I ovulated on march 29 after I got my period on march 9. When should I expect my period again?
Avatar f tn Ovulation starts soon after the menstruation period and sometimes may take place even by the end of the menstrual phase.. During ovulation the ovary sort of processes an egg and prepares if for fertilization which travels through the fallopian tubes to the uterus.. now the process of releasing an egg or two by the ovary is actually ovulation and is different from fertile period..
Avatar f tn The last day of your cycle is the day before your next menstrual period starts. The average cycle length is considered 28 days, but many women have longer or shorter cycles and it's fine. The average women ovulates approximately 14 days before the start of her period, but again, that is certainly not carved in stone. The time between your ovulation and period is referred to as a luteal phase. Hope that helps.
1459828 tn?1287060343 s a VERY common misconception that if you have 28 day cycles you ovulation on day 14. Some women will ovulate much later in their cycle and have a shorter luthel phase. There are many women that have used them and should be able to give you good advice.
Avatar n tn There are many things that can change a cycle late ovulation, usually caused by stress, change of diet, many things.your cycle is still in normal range.but yes i can see how it effects you trying to concieve.have you tried vitamin B6 this is good for getting your cycle on track,as for trying for 6 months with no success.that is a short time really.can take couples years to concieve.however since your cycle is a bit wacky,i would concentrate on getting that regular first.
Avatar f tn The chance of getting pregnant revolves around your ovulation cycle. You can look it up on an ovulation tracker. Put in when your periods are and it will tell you when your best/worst chance at getting pregnant is basically.
4100601 tn?1358967760 Clomiphene is used to treat absent or irregular menstrual cycles .It is used in induction of ovulation and in luteal phase defects. In few women the menstrual cycle is lengthened by Clomid. This is only a temporary effect till you are on the medication. Clomid cycles on the average are a few days longer than the average menstrual cycle length in the same woman without Clomid.Stress, eating disorders, ovulation dysfunction are other causes of delayed periods.
Avatar f tn The reason this works, no matter how long your cycle is, is because the 2 weeks leading up to your period is called your luteal phase and almost all women have approximately the same length phase - 14 days, and the luteal phase is started by your ovulation. For women who have a shorter than 28-day cycle, they will ovulate earlier in the cycle (possibly closer to cycle day 10, 11, or 12) and some women ovulate later, if they have a longer monthly cycle. So the question is...
Avatar f tn Your slim chances of not getting pregnant would be the first 12 days of your cycle or your last 12 days of your luteal phase which is after ovulation (before your period) It is less likely for one to get pregnant if you are having unprotected sex the closest time to your period but again, if you don't know when you are ovulating this can be a problem.
Avatar f tn this “fertile window” comprises the five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself.1–3 Just as the day of ovulation varies from cycle to cycle so does the timing of the six fertile days. Reliable methods to predict ovulation are lacking, therefore predicting the fertile window is also unreliable. Clinical guidelines suggest the cycle days during which the fertile window is most likely to occur, but these guidelines are outdated.
Avatar f tn The chances that you may be pregnant depend on your ovulation time. The ovulation time depends on your menstrual cycle. But when in doubt always consult your doctor, who may ask for a blood test to rule out pregnancy. Regards.
Avatar m tn m not sure of her luteal phase... the ovulation date on the calendar states that her ovulation is from april 17 to 22...
Avatar f tn Hope it helps The appearance and texture of cervical fluids will change as you move through your menstrual cycle. Also, the quantity of cervical mucus present is also a key sign: When you are most fertile, CM should be quite abundant. Texture: During your cycle, cervical mucus may be absent or profuse, dryish or wet, thick or thin, sticky or slippery. It may "hold its shape" or it may stretch between your fingers like raw egg-white.
Avatar f tn Normally, only one egg will be large enough to burst through the follicle during ovulation. After you ovulate, you begin what is known as your Luteal Phase (the second half of your cycle). BBT charting is the best way to find out how long your luteal phase is. You can also use an ovualation prediction kit to confirm ovulation. You will want to keep a chart even if you use an ovulation kit. By charting you can tell when you ovulated and have an accurate record to show your doctor.
Avatar n tn hi! i'm 31 years old and had my first menstrual cycle after having had my daughter twenty months ago begin about 17 days ago (so cycle day 1 was 17 days ago - my period ended about 9 days later). anyhow, for the past two days, i've been having bright red bleeding, about the size of a quarter that requires a liner. is this something i ought to be concerned about?
Avatar f tn I also know that in the first phase of your menstrual cycle, the cervical mucous is normally thicker and dry. At the time of ovulation, it is supposed to be very thin and almost watery-like. Then before menstruation, it gets thicker again. Well, on day 14 of my cycle this month, which is supposed to be my time of ovulation, my cervical mucous was unchanged - it was still thick, almost no discharge at all. Does this mean I my pill is working?
