Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and have been on the pill for 3 months, during the first month I was on anti-biotics and did not have sex with my boyfriend until I had been off this medication for 1 pill pack, since then we have had sex and I have not missed any pills. I am up to my third sugar pill and have not began my period, is it possible I am pregnant?
Avatar f tn Hello, Femitrone and morning after pill when taken together can cause withdrawal bleeding and irregular menstrual cycle and it should not interfere with the working of the emergency contraceptive pill. However keep a check on your periods. If you miss them then do a urine for pregnancy test after 1 week of your menstrual cycle. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar f tn Now I resumed taking the pill in the middle of my menstrual cycle starting from the first tablet (I was supposed to get back on the pill on the first day of my period but I stupidly decided to start taking the pill without waiting for my period to begin). What is going to happen to me? (I didn't have sex all this time so I can't be pregnant).
1722885 tn?1309474656 s appointment with your Gynecologist to find out what is going on and they can put you on the birth control pill or something else to kick start your period and get that going. Hope it goes well.
Avatar n tn Being on the pill can mess up your cycles until your body regulates. I would see your doc about it, they can better tell you what could be going on. Sorry I don't have more info for you, I'm not too familiar with BC.
Avatar m tn No one will be able to tell you that, because there is no one to know what effect the pill had on her body. The only thing you can do now is wait to see if it comes, and if it doesn't to take a pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn stress can mess up your cycle, so can diet and many other factors. have you started taking the pill or any other hormonal contraceptive? have you recently stopped using the pill, contraceptive? your doctor needs to do some futher investigation into this.
Avatar f tn I have only been married for about a month and a half and am definitely not ready to get pregnant. I have been on the pill, but my monthly placebo pill week happens to be over valentines day weekend! If I assume correctly, I will be ovulating while on the placebo pills and before I start bleeding so we will need to use a condom or somthing, but what about after I get done bleeding? Do we still need to use a condom after the bleeding and before I'm done with the placebo pills?
Avatar f tn Yes, Im sure. When I was on the pill my doctor also told me to start on the first day of my period, although some doctors say to start the pill on the sunday after.
Avatar f tn I decided to go on the pill because I wanted to regulate my cycle because I hate not knowing when my next period is gonna show up. Plan on staying on the pill til we try for another.
Avatar m tn I do not have any suggestions as to why your periods are so heavy. However, you can ask the doc to put you on 'the pill'. It has been known to reduce heavy periods and help with the pain.
1345608 tn?1276439442 To me, it sounds like you just may be headed in the way of your periods stopping altogether. This would be due to the hormones in the pill. It's not as common with the pill as it is with the Mirena IUD or the Depo shot, but it's not unheard of. Also, being 18, you're still going through some body changes, and even without any birth control at all, sometimes there will be times of irregularity in your period. The other possibility is that you've been losing weight.
Avatar n tn thanks for your responses. I probably should've mentioned before that I was just diagnosed with HPV last week, so I haven't had any more tests or treatments yet. As for pregnancy, I have had missed and irregular periods all summer. The ppl from planned parenthood said that the birth control pill I was on was causing that.
Avatar f tn I've been off the pill for 3 months after 9 years of taking it (I'm 34 years old). My first menstrual cycle was 40 days, then 33 the next month, then 34 the next--much longer than I'm used to. So here are my questions: Does this mean I ovulate later than if I had, say a 28 day cycle? I'm using a fertility monitor that said I was most fertile on day 13 but this seems wrong considering the long cycle. If I am ovulating later, will this hurt my chances of getting pregnant?
628735 tn?1273875777 Because many women with endometriosis feel pain during or related to their periods, some researchers are focusing on the menstrual cycle in their search for answers about pain. Normally, if a woman is not pregnant, her endometrial tissue builds up inside her uterus, breaks down into blood and tissue, and is shed as her menstrual flow or period. This cycle of growth and shedding happens every month or so.
Avatar f tn I want to know if it is possible to take the pill to regulate my cycle, as well as to lessen the cramps and the bleeding. I have had two periods since I had my son the first one was short and sweet but the second one was awful. I had to change every hour. I have never had cramps or extremely heavy bleeding but now I have both. I don't even get any relief pain wise until I take four pills. I don't want to get into to much detail but its bad.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the suggestion. We just launched the Menstrual Cycle Tracker, which allows you to track your cycle, and PMS and PMDD symptoms. You can add the Menstrual Cycle Tracker from the Women's Health Community. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Hello. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now and started having sex about a year ago. We always use two forms of birth control; I'm on the pill and he wears a condom. Last night, the condom broke. I'm on the pill, like I said, but also at the end of my period. Is the pill still as effective when I'm on my period? Should I get Plan B? Am I freaking out over nothing? Please help.
Avatar f tn I got my period on the 5th of december. I took the morning after pill on the 14 of december. I then started my period again on the 22nd of december. Should I have expected for my regular period to come on the 5th of january? And would I have ovulated again after this second period?
Avatar f tn If you are in the USA, you are required to join the iPledge scheme, where you agree to use the Combined Oral Contraceptive pill during Accutane treatment. Taking the pill will make your periods regular so you can avoid pregnancy scares. Certain brands such as Ortho Tri-Cycline and Diane35 will also help to clear your acne faster. Hope this is helpful, Eloise.
Avatar f tn However, I went home and read on the sheet inside with the instructions to start your brand new pack on the first day of your period. I thought nothing of it and took my doctors word to start the pack the day my period ends. I have taken all 21 pills and am now finishing the 7 day pill free interval, waiting for my next period, which hasn't come. It has been 6 days, so technically I should start a new pack tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Hello! I have a problem. I had sex with my boyfriend yesterday and the condom broke. We realized that immediately, he even says that the condom broke while he was not inside anymore., but I''m scared. The condom broke before he ejaculated but I know that also in this case there is a chance to get pregnant. It was the 12th day of my menstrual cycle.
Avatar n tn The pill usually changes one menstrual cycle.
