Sounds like you have a 28 day cycle, so based on that you would count back 14 days from when your NEXT cycle is due. Ovulation is what causes a menstrual period, not vise verse. This is why if a female fails to ovulate one month she doesn't have a menstrual cycle and is also why a female can become pregnant even if she doesn't ever have a period.
